ABSTRACT Nowadays, teachers’ attitude is one of the important things to determine students’ success in English learning. Different teachers may have different attitudes towards their students. The aims of this study are to analyze teachers’ attitudes toward difables’ English learning process in SLB and to investigate the factors which influence the teachers’ attitudes on difables’ English learning process. The results of this research show that: (1) the teachers’ attitudes toward the difables’ English learning process in SLB are favorable. They feel that teaching English in SLB is comfortable and easy. (2) the factors which influence the teachers’ attitudes are: The nature and the severity of the disabilities, teaching experience, training, factors related to the school, gender and the grade levels.

ABSTRAK Saat ini, perilaku guru dalam mengajar adalah hal yang penting dan akan menentukan kesuksesan murid dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Guru yang berbeda memiliki sikap yang berbeda terhadap murid mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perilaku guru terhadap proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris terhadap mereka yang keterbelakangan mental dan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku guru dalam proses belajar mengajar. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Perilaku guru terhadap anak keterbelakangan mental selama proses pembelajaran di SLB adalah baik. Mereka merasa bahwa mengajar Inggris di SLB menyenangkan dan mudah. (2) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku guru tersebut adalah: sifat dan kekurangan dari anak keterbelakangan mental, pengalaman mengajar, training, faktor yang berhubungan dengan sekolah, gender (jenis kelamin) dan tingkatan kelas yang diajar.
