Introduction This collection is created by student sociological conference named Sociology of Tomorrow 2016, organized by the student sociological association Sociologické nástupiště. The event takes place on 4th and 5th of March 2016 at the Faculty of Social Studies in Brno, Czech Republic. Sociological conference Sociology of Tomorrow 2016 allows students to practice their presentation skills while presenting their essays, articles, bachelor and master thesis in a friendly environment. Through the conference, students can get feedback from colleagues and get a new perspective on their topic. The aim is to create an inspiring sociological forum for discussion and sharing of research results and theoretical research in the different areas of a social life. An ability to articulate academic ideas for colleagues is one of the basic principles of a scientific work, therefore we believe it is the most appropriate to create platforms for students in the very early stages of their academic performance to learn this ability. Moreover, the conference can serve as a space for students from differenct universities to start cooperation in academic research or other projects. The conference also serves to represent the Masaryk University, not only between universities in the Czech and Slovak Republics, but also at international level. In the past, the conferences were visited by sociologist and philosopher Václav Bělohradský, sociologist and analyst of public policy Martin Potůček, sociologist Jan Keller or social anthropologist Tomáš Ryška. The main ambition for the current year was to create conference on the international level. Specifically, we started cooperation with five foreign universities from the Slovak Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany and Austria. These five countries were chosen as we had a good endorsement for these countries from coordinators, who addressed students of social sciences.

The topic of the two-day conference is "Central Europe, the world and the sociological imagination". The conference program includes two blocks, Czech and English one. The blocks are under the auspices of doc. PhDr. Csaba Szaló, Ph.D., and professor. PhDr. Pavel Barša, Ph.D., keynote speaker for the English block.3

Sociálne vzťahy v detskej rovesníckej skupine Vo svojej práci sa zaoberám sociálnymi vzťahmi v detskej skupine, ktoré nám môžu poskytnúť dôležité informácie o správaní, prípadne stratégiách jednotlivcov v skupine. Inšpirujem sa niekoľkými výskumami, ktoré sa zaoberali týmito vzťahmi a rozhodla som sa zamerať na hierarchiu, ktorá predstavuje skrytý vzťah. Hierarchia je síce skrytý vzťah, avšak je možné ju odhaliť prostredníctvom interakcií medzi deťmi. Hierarchiou sa zaoberali Russon & Waite (1991), ktorí označili dominantného partnera za jedinca kontrolujúceho správanie iných. Submisívne dieťa je teda také, ktoré sa dominantnému partnerovi podriaďuje. Existencia hierarchicky usporiadanej skupiny má svoje dôvody, napríklad akceptovať dominantného jedinca pomáha predchádzať zraneniam pri strete s týmto jedincom a takáto akceptácia hierarchie nám môže pomôcť vyhnúť sa konfliktom. Okrem samotnej hierarchie sa vo svojej práci zameriam aj na priateľstvo, ako významný vzťah v skupine, ktorý môže mať vplyv na ostatné vzťahy. Inšpirujem sa výskumami Parker & Asher (1993); Nangle & kol. (2003); Gest & Graham-Bermann & Hartup (2001); Gifford-Smith & Brownell (2003). Všetky tieto výskumy poukazujú na dôležitosť priateľstva pri formovaní vzťahov v detskej rovesníckej skupine, ale poukazujú aj na fakt, že vytváranie priateľstiev môže ovplyvňovať budovanie empatie či zabraňovať vzniku depresií. Ja sa vo svojej práci zameriam nielen na samotné priateľstvo, ale aj vznik klík- spriatelených koalícií medzi deťmi. Cieľom mojej práce je okrem hierarchického usporiadania odhaliť či majú priateľské vzťahy medzi deťmi a vytvorenie tzv. klík signifikantný vplyv na postavenie dieťaťa v skupine. Na základe spolupráce medzi spriatelenými deťmi (vytváranie neagonistických vzťahov) si totiž môžu všetky deti v klike zlepšovať svoj rank. Priateľstvo vo svojej práci chápem ako non-dyadický neagonistický vzťah, ktorý nemusí byť symetrický a pozorovanie priateľstva je preto náročnejšie. Parker & Asher (1993) vo svojom výskume využívali dotazník ako metódu výskumu priateľských vzťahov, avšak vzhľadom na nízky vek mojich informátorov nie je možné použiť túto metódu. Rozhodla som sa využiť kombináciu behaviorálneho pozorovania s opakovanými úlohami pre deti, prostredníctvom ktorých odhalím priateľské interakcie. Pôjde o súbor otázok a úloh pre deti, ktoré im budem zadávať počas celého terénneho výskumu. Úlohy sa budú opakovať, avšak čiastočne ich pozmením, 4

aby sa deti nenaučili odpovedať rovnako. Taktiež budem počas svojho výskumu zadávať každému dieťaťu otázky. Výsledkom bude súbor odpovedí na štyri otázky (za každý mesiac terénneho výskumu), z ktorých vyhodnotím priateľské vzťahy medzi deťmi. Okrem samotných úloh budem sa pokúsim tieto situácie pozorovať a zaznamenávať. Napríklad keď sa bude skupinka detí hrať a nedovolia inému dieťaťu aby sa k nim pridal a podobne. Sústredím sa na behaviorálne pozorovanie. Hierarchické usporiadanie skupiny, ako vzťahy nadradenosti a podriadenosti identifikujem prostredníctvom zúčastneného pozorovania. Sústredím sa na pozorovanie detských vzťahov prostredníctvom ich hier, rozhovorov a aktivít. Budem si zapisovať dyadické agonistické situácie a jednotlivé postavenie detí v nich. Prostredníctvom dyadických agonistických vzťahov je totiž možné určiť hierarchické usporiadanie, ktoré patrí medzi výskumné ciele môjho projektu. Dyadické agonistické vzťahy sú situácie, v ktorých medzi deťmi vzniká spor/ nezhoda. Jedno dieťa chce niečo iné ako druhé dieťa, pričom sa deti dostanú do konfliktu a jedno dieťa môže presviedčať to druhé dieťa, aby sa prispôsobilo. Budem si zaznamenávať tieto situácie a kódovať budem len tie, kedy jedno dieťa presadilo svoje požiadavky a to druhé sa mu prispôsobí bez pokusu o obranu. Okrem týchto cieľov sa vo svojom výskume zameriam aj na sledovanie zmien v priateľstve a hierarchickom postavení. Hypotézou mojej práce je, že vzťahy priateľstva a hierarchické postavenie sa menia v čase a zmeny sa dejú na úrovni priateľských skupín, rovnako ako sa mení celkové hierarchické usporiadanie. Vo svojom výskume sa tiež zameriam na socio-ekonomické zázemie a jeho vplyv na štruktúru detskej rovesníckej skupiny. Budem skúmať to, či sú deti senzitívne a vnímajú tieto socio-ekonomické rozdiely a prípadne ako tieto rozdiely ovplyvňujú vznik priateľstiev a hierarchického usporiadania. Výskumnou vzorkou budú predškolské deti od troch do šesť rokov v jednej z materských škôlok v Londýne. Metódy výskumu zahrňujú predovšetkým štandardné antropologické metódy (zúčastnené pozorovanie, rozhovory). Preskúmať stanovené ciele si vyžaduje longitudinálny terénny výskum, v trvaní 10 mesiacov, ktorý sa uskutoční od októbra 2016 do júla 2017.

School or diploma? Analysis of secondary education effect on cultural capital In this article, we examine role of the secondary education in the production of cultural capital. In particular, we will consider the difference between the formal degree obtained and type of school attended. The secondary education in the former Czechoslovakia offered up to four ways how to obtain one identical graduation diploma. We argue that although the diploma had formally the same value from all of those four tracks, each of the tracks leaded to acquisition of different embodied cultural capital. Our argument is based on the fact that gaining of embodied cultural capital is a long time process rather than one-time action. It starts at home, where the children are under constant influence of the closest family circle. It continues at school, where the children are under constant influence from teachers and classmates. In result, we expect that children with diplomas from gymnasium have more embodied cultural capital than children with diplomas from vocational school because they were exposed to teachers with high demands and classmates with large ambitions. In similar way, the children with diploma from vocational school have more embodied cultural capital than children with diploma from apprenticeship school.

Research question: Is embodied cultural capital influenced by the formal degree obtained or by the school attended? Our theoretical assumptions and hypotheses derived from them are based on Bourdieu’s theory of cultural capital and cultural integration. While the theory of cultural capital says that there is an embodied cultural capital acquired during socialisation, the theory of cultural integration describes a specific function of school, cultural integration, which is responsible for the way we react on specific stimuli, for example art. The cultural integration is not same at each school. Therefore, there should be observable differences across different secondary education institutions. 5

Our theoretical assumptions are supported by previous research done on the same topic. In particular interest is article published by Ineke Nagel (2010). She used panel data collected in Netherlands to explain how family background and educational career influence cultural participation of children in age between 14 and 24 years. The results show that both effects are significant and independent of each other. Furthermore, there are significant differences in cultural consumption between children attending different types of secondary education. To answer our research question, we analyse data collected by Donald J. Treiman and Ivan Szelenyi in 1993/1994, Social Stratification in Eastern Europe after 1989. The original sample contains information from six post-socialist European countries, namely Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Russia, The Czech Republic and Slovakia. After selection of the Czechoslovakian subsample, we got exactly 10 541 observations. The dependent variable, embodied cultural capital, is operationalized as cultural consumption and measured on a scale capturing how often a respondent participates on any form of “higher” cultural activity (theatre, ballet, etc.) The independent variable, secondary education, has five categories: eight years long gymnasium, four years long gymnasium, vocational school, apprenticeship with graduation and apprenticeship without graduation. We use method of linear regression to see whether the education significantly influences embodied cultural capital. To test whether the differences between secondary education tracks are significant or not, we use Walds tests of simple and composite linear hypotheses. The relationship is controlled for influence of parental cultural capital, sex, nationality and a year a respondents started secondary education. The results of the analysis confirm our assumptions. The secondary education has significant influence on possession of embodied cultural capital, independently from the effect of parental cultural capital. Moreover, absolvents of gymnasiums have significantly more embodied cultural capital than absolvents of vocational schools, absolvents of vocational schools have significantly more embodied cultural capital than absolvents of apprenticeship. However, there is no significant difference between absolvents of eight years long gymnasium and four years long gymnasiums. This might be due to the fact that eight years long gymnasiums and four years long gymnasiums are usually connected. Therefore, there is no difference between the teachers’ effect on students from four years and eight years long gymnasiums, as the teachers are the same for both groups of students. The only difference is in the influence of classmates. Another explanation of the non-significant

difference might be a small amount of respondents in the category of eight years long gymnasium. Our research shows that holders of formally equal diploma in the Czechoslovakia don’t have equal embodied cultural capital. The difference is based on type of secondary education absolved. These are important findings for three reasons. First, they show that the school is not only a passive reproducer of family based inequalities. Second, distinction between institutionalised and embodied cultural capital might be in particular interest in research of education. Third, they are in concordance with findings of Ineke Nagel (2010). Different secondary education tracks lead to unequal embodied cultural capital in both countries, Czechoslovakia and Netherlands.

vídeňských Čechů „Desátej okres, ten byl českej a většinou český firmy…krejčí, švec. Měl tam napsáno obuvník, nebo krejčí. Na desátým okrese, jinde to nebylo, jinde to bylo psaný německy.“ Takto mi vyprávěl o Vídni můj děda, který byl za druhé světové války totálně nasazený jako holič na Mariahilfer Straße. Také vypravoval o tom, jak jeho rodina ve Vídni za monarchie žila a se vznikem ČSR odešla do nově vzniklé republiky, protože jako Češi chtěli žít ve svém státě. Jeho vyprávění ve mně podnítila zájem o to, jak vypadají potomci českých rodin, které ve Vídni zůstali, na rozdíl od mých předků, a stále se ke své české identitě alespoň nějakým způsobem hlásí. Když jsem mohla vyjet v průběhu svého studia na Institutu sociologických studií FSV UK na Erasmus, Vídeň byla jasnou volbou. Tématem identity a paměti vídeňských Čechů jsem se rozhodla zabývat ve své diplomové práci a v květnu a červnu roku 2015 jsem realizovala narativní interview s dvaceti zástupci ze čtyř generací vídeňských Čechů. Jako kritéria jsem si stanovila, že rodiny respondentů musely do Vídně přijít nejpozději před druhou světovou válkou a musejí hovořit česky. Okolo roku 1900 žilo ve Vídni podle neoficiálních předpokladů až na 300 000 Čechů, v současnosti žije podle Ministerstva zahraničí ČR v Rakousku na 7300 Čechů. Velkou část Čechů ve Vídni v na počátku minulého století tvořili sezónní dělníci, k velké emigraci do vlastní země docházelo s již zmíněným vznikem Československa, také po druhé světové válce. A naopak v průběhu totality, především od roku 1968 emigrovali Češi do Vídně a po roce 1989 z ekonomických důvodů. Většina českých rodin se tedy asimilovala a k češství ztratila jakékoli vazby. Jak se totiž říká „každý pravý Vídeňák má za babičku Češku.“ Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaké faktory hrály roli v tom, že některé rodiny si na rozdíl od většiny původně českých rodin svou alespoň částečnou českou identitu udržují. Zvolenou výzkumnou metodou bylo biografické vyprávění podle Alfreda Schütze. V průběhu vyprávění jedinec vytváří svou identitu v závislosti na vnějších okolnostech a také na vnitřních, jež jsou podmíněny těmi vnějšími, vytvářenými na základě prožitých zkušeností [Schütze 2007: 43]. Podle Zdeňka Konopáska je biografie vyprávěnou identitou [Konopásek 6

1994: 3]. Respondenti byli požádáni, aby vyprávěli o svém životě v souvislosti se svým češstvím. Pokud sami některá témata ve svém vyprávění nezmínili, po skončení jejich souvislého vyprávění byly zjišťovány konkrétní informaci, například ohledně školy, členství ve spolcích, původu rodiny, atd. Respondenti byli osloveni v Sokole nebo na akcích pořádaných školou Komenského. Původním cílem výzkumu bylo sledování rodinné paměti, ale vzhledem k tomu, že se až na výjimky nepodařilo domluvit schůzku s více členy rodiny, tento záměr se nepodařilo uskutečnit. Předpokládanou výzkumnou metodou byla také metoda tzv. sněhové koule. Pokud respondenti byli ochotni poskytnout kontakt na potenciálního vypravěče, ten nikdy neprojevil zájem. Proto byla nutná aktivní participace na různých společenských akcích (např. divadlo, Jarní veselice) a tam jednotlivé lidi oslovovat a vyptávat se po lidech, kteří by zapadali do vytyčené škály. S některými z respondentů bylo nutné uskutečnit rozhovory na akci samotné, za jinými se muselo jet k nim domu, což samozřejmě také mělo vliv na průběh a kvalitu interview. Jádrem identity je pamatování se, podle Barbory Misztal být Židem, znamená pamatovat si, co je to, být Židem [Misztal 2003]. A jak zdůrazňuje Marie-Claire Lavabre, za ptaním se po paměti stojí vždy problém identity [Lavabre 2005: 6]. Výzkum vychází z teorie kolektivní paměti rozvinuté Janem Assmannem [2001, 2008], který ji rozděluje na komunikativní a kulturní paměť, a z perspektivy konstruktivismu. Jako teoretické východisko tedy příspěvek předpokládá to, že kolektivní paměť je vždy sociálně konstruovaná a některé její části podléhají politické instrumentalizaci. Příspěvek ukáže, jakým způsobem se čtyři generace vídeňských Čechů, jejichž předci přišli z Čech do Vídně nejčastěji ještě za monarchie, identifikují a jakým způsobem své alespoň částečné češství udržují a konstruují kolektivní identitu. Každá generace ve svém vyprávění akcentovala trochu jiná témata (válka, komunismus, řeč) a ke svému češství se vztahovala odlišně. Také budovali hranice proti odlišným skupinám a konstruovali odlišné „my“. Napříč všemi generacemi prostupuje Sokol a především česká škola Komenského. A to především její „rodinný étos“. V současnosti se skládá ze školky, školy základní a gymnázia. V první řadě se kolem ní se dnes koncentruje společenský život menšiny, pořádají se zde různé akce a je centrem pro setkávání. Dalo by se říci, že je ochráncem a i tvůrcem paměti kulturní. Na jejím samotném vývoji v posledních sto letech lze vysledovat měnící se politiku paměti a dopady, jaké to mělo na českou menšinu. To se zrcadlí ve vyprávění téměř všech respondentů.

Místa spotřeby: estetika nerovností Ve svém příspěvku se budu zabývat sociálním rozměrem estetiky míst spotřeby. Námětem tak bude, za prvé, ustanovení estetiky místa jako zdroje nerovnosti a za druhé prezentace pilotních dat mého výzkumu, na kterých ukáži její konkrétní emanace. Podle Baumana (2001) se postmoderní životní zkušenost jednotlivce nezakládá na jeho vztahu k práci a výrobním prostředkům, ale na vztahu ke spotřebě. Jedinec je definován na základě svobodné (spotřební) volby, jak naložit se svými prostředky, tato konzumní svoboda tak ustanovuje individuální i kolektivní identitu. Míra svobody je určena zdroji jedince a jeho přístupem k nim. Vedle nerovností daných ekonomickou či prostorovou stránkou (př. nedostupnost v určité lokalitě či nemobilita jedince) se setkáváme se symbolickým sociálním hlediskem, které je mimo jiné dané právě atmosférou a estetikou místa. Té se ovšem na rozdíl od předešlých dvou dostává jen minimální pozornosti. Zaměřuji se proto na estetiku míst spotřeby, která jsou založena více na prožitku a zábavě než na potřebě (Mullins et all., 1999). Vzhledem k tomu, že v českém prostředí se setkáváme se specifickou funkcí hospody jako sociálního tmelu a zdroje sociálního kapitálu (Vinopal, 2005), tak s nárůstem pocitu nepatřičnosti daným atmosférou a estetikou provozovny (Jayne, 2006; Zukin, 2008) může klesat návštěvnost (a tudíž i sociální koherence) některých sociálních skupin. Estetizace je proces neoddělitelný od spotřeby samotné - s nárůstem významu spotřeby narůstá i význam estetiky. Do spotřeby je vklíněna skrze habity jednotlivců i sociálních skupin. Habity nejsou tvořeny jen vzájemnými vztahy člověk-člověk ale i vztahy mezi člověkem a věcí, je proto vhodné opustit subjekt-objektovou dichotomii a pracovat i s neživými aktéry (Latour, 1994). Podle Meada samotné fyzické objekty, ustanovují a udržují jedincovu identitu, propůjčují jedinci stabilní a známé prostředí a jsou v sociálním vztahu s jedincem (McCarthy, 1992). Z tohoto důvodu můžeme hovořit o socialitě estetiky, potažmo o estetice nerovností. Ta je tedy za a) sociálním vztahem, b) vizualizací nerovnosti a za c) je ukotvena v jádru postmoderní každodennosti. Dle Featherstona (1991) se setkáváme s estetizací každodennosti ve třech sférách. Za prvé dochází ke stírání rozdílů mezi uměním a užitými předměty (počátek nalezneme v dadaismu a dalších uměleckých subkulturách). Dnes tento vliv můžeme spatřovat v 7

designových prostorech, které samy o sobě mohou být považovány za umění a zároveň být užitým místem. Za druhé se jedná o proces žití života jako umění, což v postmoderní době může označovat touhu po rozšiřování sebe sama, hon za novými chutěmi či prožitky a neustálé objevování nového (Shusterman, 1988). Tato estetizace je všudy přítomná - jedinec na ní participuje už jen svým výběrem oblečení, barvou nátěru v bytě či jídlem a pitím. V současnosti ji můžeme spojit například s prožitkem pití alternativní metody přípravy kávy či popíjení řemeslných piv. Třetí sférou je neustálý proud znaků a obrazů vetkaný do každodenní zkušenosti, který nám zprostředkovávají masová média, značky a ukazatele na ulicích či jízdní řády a meníčka v restauracích. Otázka estetických aspektů nerovností je řešena na případu míst spotřeby nacházejících se v pražských Nuslích. Tato lokalita je ohrožena gentrifikací, neboť se nachází v těsné blízkosti centra a přesto zde zůstávají nájmy relativně nízké. Již jen za dobu mého výzkumu, je možné pozorovat lehký posun v tomto směru, některá místa zanikají či jsou transformována do míst lákajících movitější klientelu. Výzkum je založen na vizuálních datech, konkrétně na fotografiích pořízených na jednotlivých místech spotřeby na základě tzv. shooting scriptu. Ty jsou následně analyzovány pomocí zakotvené teorie. Napříč celým spektrem podniků byla identifikována tendence k prezentaci historicity a tradice podniku, přesto se zde vyjevilo, že v místech zaměřených na nemovitější klientelu byly vystaveny neoriginální prefabrikované obrazy. Celkově se tato místa nesnaží o originalitu či „branding” skrze estetizující prvky jako takové. Historicita a tradice místa je v takových podnicích ustanovována skrze prezentaci komunity (př. nástěnka, fotky štamgastů či personálu, pohledy etc). Naopak v místech zaměřených na movitější klientelu se setkáváme se snahou prezentovat “historické” kresby či fotografie daného podniku. V další fázi výzkumu bude provedena foto-elicitace za účelem zjištění konkrétních pocitů nepatřičnosti v určitých místech spotřeby.

Plánování veřejného prostoru - případová studie Tempelhofer Feld Tvoje město, upozorňuje graffiti na jedné z budov, která se nachází v Curvystraße v Berlíně, kde má vzniknout nový developerský projekt. O kousek dál proti proudu Spree připomíná další graffiti Fuck Media Spree vlnu odporu, kterou vyvolal zase jiný rozsáhlý a značně kontroverzní developerský projekt. Takových znaků je ve městě celá řada. V mém příspěvku nejde tolik o graffiti, jde o plány na městský veřejný prostor. Na současném Tempelhofer Feld zatím není mnoho místa pro graffiti. Není zde takřka nic. Toto místo bylo dříve ne-místem. Nepřístupné, nezajímavé a neexistující. Proč ale tolik povyku pro nic? Jde totiž o městskou laboratoř, o místo, kde je opravdu mnoho místa. Tempelhofer Feld je projekt, který teprve na znaky, které budou zapsány do jeho struktur, čeká. Zda půjde o veřejné reprezentace pokračování dominance státní moci, neoliberální ekonomie, každodenní korupce, o nahodilé pokusy občanské společnosti, formy subkultur, uměleckých performancí a mladistvé kultury např. ve formě graffiti se ukáže dříve či později. Už nyní se však zdá, že tradiční plánování shora ztratilo své výsadní právo na rozhodování, což městskou politiku nepochybně činí složitější. Jedná se o park, který vznikl na ploše někdejšího Berlínského letiště Berlin – Tempelhof v souvislosti s restrukturalizací berlínské vzdušné dopravy. Nachází se na strategicky důležitém místě uprostřed Berlína. Přes mnohé snahy Senátního shromáždění pro rozvoj města (Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung) ve formě veřejných soutěží je směr plánování v mnoha ohledech stále nejasný. A sice co se týče napojení areálu na město a konkrétních strategických plánů následného využití. Debata týkající se budoucího využití tohoto areálu postupem času získala značnou politickou výbušnost a společenskou kontroverzi. Toto místo dnes nemá pouze historický a symbolický význam, ale i význam morální. Vyjednává se zde podoba a zájmy města a dochází zde ke střetu politických zájmů. Občanská sdružení jako 100% Tempelhofer Freiheit prosazují své právo na město. Situace v období od uzavření leteckého provozu po otevření parku byla značně napjatá. Začaly být posilovány prvky sociální kontroly. Otevření parku veřejnosti předcházela 8

občanskou iniciativou Have you ever squoted an airport iniciované obsazení letiště. Samotné obsazení prostoru bylo sice policií potlačeno, ale myšlenka veřejného prostoru (Temeplhofer Freiheit) tím získala na sledovanosti. Následovalo z hlediska mnoha zapojených občanských iniciativ úspěšné referendum a tím byla odstartována nová fáze plánování. Tempelhof se stal jedním z velkých jevišť, na kterých se odehrává budoucí podoba města. Městský prostor se novým způsobem kulturalizuje a historizuje, aby si skrze městské zahrádky, hudební festivaly, umělecké projekty, sportovní aktivity a různé události a pamětní místa udržel svou autenticitu. Proces produkce a konstrukce významů kolem areálu bývalého letiště Berlin – Tempelhof není jednoznačně vtělený v určitém prostoru. Diskuze o budoucí podobě areálu netvoří žádné fyzicky ohraničitelné pole. Z tohoto důvodu jsem svou prostorovou analýzu opíral o metodologii multi-sited ethnography George E. Marcuse vycházející z představy multidimenzionálního neohraničeného prostoru, ve kterém se jednotlivé části vzájemně překrývají a přerušují. Velká část mého výzkumu se konala přímo v areálu letiště, v mnoha případech jsem však toto geograficky vymezené pole za účelem sběru dat překračoval. Sledoval jsem diskuzi, v jejímž rámci byly vyjednávány významy této městské lokality. Zajímaly mě zejména dějiny, koncepty a metafory, které hrály centrální roli v rámci tohoto konfliktu. Na základě různých metodologických přístupů jsem se snažil nalézt různé perspektivy a vize budoucího využití areálu a tyto mezi sebou vzájemně propojit. Na základě tohoto přístupu jsem se nesnažil pouze o odkrytí kulturních mechanismů, určení dějinněpolitických intervencí, ale také o ozřejmění jednotlivých problematických rovin. Využil jsem metody zúčastněného pozorovávání, rozhovorů, analýzy dat a dokumentů a diskurzivní analýzu fotodokumentace a map.

Imaginace subsaharské Afriky v prostředí české společnosti Příspěvek prezentuje kvalitativní studii, která vychází z odkazu postkoloniální kritiky západních imaginací vzdálených regionů, již započal Edward Said ve svém stěžejním díle Orientalismus

[1978]).

imaginativních geografií a značně čerpá z díla Saidova následovníka Dereka Gregoryho (1994, 1995, 2004), který koncept rozpracoval. Imaginativní geografie jsou diskursivní formace, která tvaruje popisy těch vzdálených regionů, jež jsou považovány za odlišné od regionu vlastního. V imaginativních geografiích tak figurují různorodé obrazy a představy vzdálených míst, které zjednodušují tamní komplexitu, specifika a každodenní život na snadno uchopitelnou imaginaci, jež zdůrazňuje především tamní jinakost. Imaginativní geografie tudíž reprodukují různé stereotypizace. Přestože byly imaginativní geografie původně využity k analýze západních představ, textů a obrazů o Orientu, jsou přenositelné i do jiných prostorových kontextů, jejichž stereotypizaci určitým způsobem ovlivňuje západní mocenská dominance. V prezentované studii jsou analyzovány imaginativní geografie subsaharské Afriky, které se objevují u vybraných členů české společnosti. Analýza imaginativních geografií ve studii se opírá o 11 semistrukturovaných rozhovorů s Čechy a Češkami, jejichž zkušenosti s Afrikou jsou zprostředkované, nikoli osobní. Nutno podotknout, že rozhovory byly vedeny ještě před vypuknutím jevu dnes známého jako migrační krize. Metodou analýzy rozhovorů byla interpretace s prvky kritické diskursivní analýzy. V diskursu imaginativních geografií Afriky je hledán především aspekt mocenského vztahu západního a afrického prostoru s hlavním důrazem na problematiku afrických lidí a jejich imaginovaného života. Studie si kladla výzkumnou otázku: Jak v imaginativních geografiích subsaharské Afriky figurují lidé, jak jejich život a co to znamená pro jejich souvislost s námi/oddělenost od nás? Prvními prvky imaginativní geografie, které analýza rozhovorů odhalila, jsou důraz na romantizaci přírody a na Afriku jako autenticky divošskou. Objevují se dva divošské diskursy: diskurs „vznešeného divocha“ jako kritika náročného západního moderního života a 9

diskurs „zlého divocha“ jako chvála civilizovanosti Západu oproti necivilizované předmoderní Africe. Pro Afriku a Afričany jsou podle názoru komunikačních partnerů, s nimiž byly vedeny rozhovory, předmoderní způsoby života přirozené a pro africké obyvatelstvo lepší. Z toho důvodu má být lepší do jejich způsobu života nijak nezasahovat, ale přesto by se o ně moderní člověk měl zajímat. Tím se objevuje paradox nutnosti nechat Afriku být a přitom ji nenechat být. Další problematikou, která hraje v imaginativní geografii roli, je africká chudoba. Africké obyvatelstvo má být chudé a přitom spokojené, což není pro komunikační partnery zcela pochopitelné. Objevuje se diskurs „vznešeného chudého“. To je však upozaděno uchopením africké chudoby skrze neoliberální racionalitu. Chudoba je proto vysvětlena především

africkou individuální

pasivitou a

nepracovitostí. Objevuje

se

diskurs

„nepracujícího chudého“. Afrika se ukazuje být v imaginativní geografii pasivní obecně, neboť je neměnná, zakonzervovaná v minulosti a africké obyvatelstvo je příliš pasivní na to, aby získalo ekonomické myšlení nutné pro současnost. Afrika je autenticky pasivní, a nezbytná má proto být aktivita moderního západního světa, aby Africe pomohl v dnešních časech, kdy si africké obyvatelstvo kvůli pasivitě nedokáže poradit samo. Tato aktivita vede k představě nutnosti humanitarismu. Avšak představa získává podobu humanitárního „paradigmatu ironie“ (Chouliaraki 2013) a reprodukuje pasivitu afrických lidí, neboť aktivita narcisticky cirkuluje mezi západními humanitárními dárci jako pozitivní jednání, zatímco afričtí příjemci pomoci nejsou akcentováni. Diskurs africké pasivity v sepětí s humanitárním „paradigmatem ironie“ tak zneviditelňuje ekonomický neokolonialismus jako západní negativní jednání a neumožňuje systematickou kritiku globální nerovnosti. To má opět souvislost s časovostí: zatímco pro uchopení humanitarismu je příhodná představa Afriky jako časově v minulosti, pro uchopení ekonomického neokolonialismu je vhodnější představa časové simultánnosti Západu a Afriky. Ta se však v rozhovorech vyskytuje marginálně.

Chůze městem: případová studie v ulicích Brna Příspěvek prezentuje etnografický výzkum chůze v brněnských ulicích. Skrze zkoumání každodennosti se pokouší objasnit, co utváří chodeckou zkušenost, jakým způsobem si chodci vytvářejí vztah k místu skrze chůzi a jak vypadá každodenní rutina chodců. Výzkum je inspirován fenomenologickou perspektivou, kdy tělo člověka nechápe pouze jako fyzickou věc, ale jako zdroj zkušeností. Lidé se dívají na svět skrze svá těla, která mají specifické fyziologické charakteristiky (Turner 1996). Lidé svojí přítomností a aktivitou/mobilitou v prostoru ovlivňují podobu místa a opakující se zkušenost z chůze spoluutváří vztah lidí k místu. Poznávání každodenní chodecké zkušenosti tedy přináší informace nejen o městě a místě, ale také o chodci samotném, jeho vnímání, emocích, životním stylu (Hyler 2013). Hlavní inspirací pro zkoumání právě každodenní chůze byla práce Michela de Certeau (1984). De Certeau odlišuje dva typy každodenního jednání: strategie a taktiky. Strategie disciplinují a usměrňují lidské jednání na základě představ o tom, co je správné. V případě chůze je to tedy přizpůsobení se správnému způsobu chůze skrze jednotlivé prostory, konkrétně třeba chůze po vymezené části chodníku. Lidé nejsou vůči strategiím bezbranní, odpovídají na ně taktikami. Taktiky se skládají z vynalézavého chápání se nových či jiných příležitostí v rámci prostoru, jsou to improvizované a nepředvídatelné manévry a důvtipná řešení situací. Chodci si skrze taktiky prostor zabydlují, přizpůsobují si ho. Cílem výzkumu bylo tedy mimo jiné ukázat příklady strategií a taktik na příkladě vybraných komunikačních partnerů. Toho se podařilo docílit díky vhodně zvolené metodě. Byla jí hybridní etnografická metoda „goalong“ doplněná pozorováním a polostruktorovanými rozhovory. Go-along metoda by se dala popsat jako sdílené spoluprocházení známých míst s komunikačním partnerem a současné vedení rozhovoru. Prakticky metoda vypadá tak, že výzkumník doprovází jednotlivé komunikační partnery na jejich každodenní trase a pokládá jim otázky, které se týkají prostředí, ve kterém se zrovna nachází, poslouchá, systematicky pozoruje, aktivně objevujeme jejich osobní zkušenosti a praktiky. Konkrétně tedy sleduje, jak se pohybují, jak interagují s fyzickým i sociálním prostředím (Kusenbach 2003). Výzkum probíhal v širším centru města Brna, konkrétně v ulicích Botanická, Kounicova a v ulicích, které je spojují. Data získaná ze sedmi hloubkových rozhovorů s obyvateli zkoumané části města ukazují na některé obecné 10

způsoby, skrze něž si lidé utvářejí vztah k prostoru skrze chůzi a jak svým každodenním pohybem prostor proměňují. Komunikační partneři ulice vnímají jako stabilní a neměnné, což jim na jednu stranu znemožňuje uvažovat o sobě jako o aktivních tvůrcích prostoru, kteří mají možnost stav ulice změnit, účelně do prostoru zasahovat, na druhou stranu jim vnímaná stálost dává příjemný pocit známosti, sounáležitosti, pocit patření někam. Vztah k místu je tvořen i sociálními vazbami a vzpomínkami, které do něj patří. Nejsilněji působí vzpomínky na blízké lidi, se kterými jedinec v místě něco prožil. Sdílení chůze a zážitků s blízkými lidmi vyvolává pozitivní emoce, které jsou vepsané do místa a během chůze se znovu vybavují. Rutinní každodenní chůze je často nereflektovaná, chodci jsou ale schopni v případě potřeby hledat a vytvářet nové cesty, přizpůsobovat si prostor pro svoji potřebu. Řečeno jazykem Michela de Certeau chodci využívají strategie, pokud jsou pro ně výhodné, ve chvíli kdy ji začnou vnímat jako neefektivní, zapojí novou taktiku. To je vidět na vyjednávání prostoru s dalšími účastníky provozu: pokud je pro chodce nejvýhodnější využívat chodník či přechod, tak se drží vymezeného prostoru. Ve chvíli kdy by to mělo ale jejich cestu zpomalit či zastavit, hledají alternativní trasu – vchází do vozovky mimo přechod a vytváří tak sdílený prostor, svojí přítomností na silnici nutí řidiče ke zpomalení a k větší opatrnosti. Výzkum ukazuje i na specifika zkoumaných ulic a jejich vstřícnost k pěšímu způsobu dopravy. Na Botanické ulici vnímají chodci velmi pozitivně zeleň a propojení s Tyršovým sadem, jejich vztah k ulici je dán i vzhledem zástavby a klidem. Co naopak vnímají velmi negativně je přidružený provoz cyklistické a pěší dopravy. To vnímají především senioři jako ohrožující. Druhým nejčastěji zmiňovaným problémem ulice je výskyt velkého množství venčících se psů, po kterých jejich majitelé neuklízejí. Kounicova je rušná obchodní ulice přes den a nočním životem tepající ulice v noci. Hluk v nočních hodinách je pro obyvatele ulice obtěžující, na druhou tento noční život a dobrá osvětlenost ulice působí na komunikační partnery jako záruka bezpečí. Tu narušují jen zaparkovaná auta na chodníku, která mohou sloužit jako vhodný úkryt pro násilníka. Auta zaparkovaná na chodníku také narušují plynulý průchod rušnou ulicí. Ten je komplikován i dlouhou dobou čekání na přechodu či úplnou absencí přechodu v některých místech. Komunikační partneři mají i ke Kounicově ulici ale vesměs kladný vztah, který je dán velkou nabídkou služeb, přítomností významných budov, charakterem důležité městské třídy a v neposlední řadě pozitivními vzpomínkami svázanými s touto ulicí jak je tomu ostatně i v případě Botanické.

Sociologie dopravy, přepravy a dopravního chování – úvod a aplikace Tento příspěvek si klade za cíl tematizovat a skrze příklady aplikace přiblížit sociologii dopravy, dopravního chování a potažmo též přepravy 12. Přestože totiž doprava ve svých různých projevech patří k fenoménům s nepochybným sociálním, ekonomickým, historickým či environmentálním významem, její převažující sociologickou reflexi nelze považovat za dostačující. S dopravou se totiž v kontextu sociologie setkáváme spíše v situacích, kdy není zkoumána sama o sobě a které se – v kontrastu s každodenností – vyznačují určitými specifiky (de Boer, 1986). Zejména v oblastech jako turismus (Dann & Parrinello, 2009) či migrace (Chen, Frank, Dietz, & Liu, 2012) představuje mobilita implicitní rámec zkoumaných jevů, přičemž jí samotné nutně nemusí být věnována pozornost. K určitému míjení dochází také s dalším tematicky spřízněnou oblastí zkoumání, totiž se sociologií urbanismu. A to navzdory skutečnosti, že se tato subdisciplína s dopravou v odborných periodicích potýká nejpozději od 70. let 20. st. V obecnějším kontextu sociologie je tomu pak navzdory skutečnosti, že se doprava jako předmět zkoumání sociologie objevuje i mezi některými ústředními postavami této disciplíny v 19. a 20. st. Např. Charles Horton Cooley v roce 1894 publikoval stať The theory of transportation. Za jiný příklad lze považovat aplikaci teorii kulturního opoždění jejím autorem, Williamem Ogbournem, na společenské dopady rozvoje letecké dopravy v textu z roku 1946 (de Boer, 1986). Jsou zde nicméně i další oblasti lidského bádání jako urbánní rozvoj či dopravní modelování, díky nimž spatřujeme určitý obrat. Doprava se ve svých rozličných projevech může stát předmětem zkoumání sociologie, ta však zároveň poskytuje nástroje pro zkoumání těchto projevů. Obojí pak může přispět k zodpovězení otázek typu: Jak vybudovat co nejefektivnější síť dobíjecích stanic pro elektromobily? Dopravní chování pak představuje agency či mikrosociologickou perspektivu, zatímco doprava či přeprava structure, resp. makrosociologický rozměr. 12

dopravní poptávky na sídlišti pod vlivem demografického vývoje tamních obyvatel? Hraje doprava nějakou roli v reprodukci nerovností ve společnosti? Do jaké míry se daří naplňovat dopravní potřeby určitých skupin obyvatel, například seniorů či rodin s malými dětmi? Jsou ve společnosti reflektovány environmentální dopady dopravy? Jaké ideologie převažují při tvorbě dopravních politik? Jakým způsobem plánovat veřejnou dopravu v daném městě? A tak bychom mohli pokračovat dále. Průzkumy dopravního chování jako aplikace sociologie v kontextu dopravy a mobilitního chování Otázky jako je ta poslední jmenovaná lze zařadit pod problematiku dopravního modelování a plánování. Tyto disciplíny, vystavené na průsečíku dopravního inženýrství, geografie, ekonomie, aplikované matematiky, psychologie či sociologie (Schönfelder & Axhausen, 2009) si ze sociálně-vědního podloží odnesly především metodologicko-analytický aparát. Patrně nepřekvapí, že k tvorbě každého dopravního modelu, tedy simulace dopravního chování lidí v dané oblasti, jsou potřebná data. A vzhledem k tomu, že metodou sběru dat je dotazování jednotlivců či zpravidla celých domácností tvořených těmito jednotlivci, může sociologie přispět propracovanými technikami výběru respondentů, tvorbou dotazníku, organizací a koordinací výběrových šetření či následnou analýzou dat. To vše se zhmotňuje v podobě dopravně-sociologických šetření či tzv. průzkumů dopravního chování, které představují základní zdroj informací pro analýzu stávajícího stavu a predikci vývoje poptávky po dopravě a s tím související kvalitní dopravní plánování. Průzkumy dopravního chování zachycují klíčové charakteristiky uživatelů dopravy a ve svých důsledcích umožňují zkoumat mechanismy interakce mezi dopravní poptávkou a nabídkou (Šenk & Kouřil, 2014). Respondenti odpovídají na otázky týkající se jejich každodenního dopravního chování – např. zvolený způsob dopravy, výchozí bod a cíl cesty nebo čas strávený na cestě. Tyto položky tvoří tzv. aktivitně-cestovní deník, který sleduje mobilitní chování respondentů ve předem stanovené rozhodné dny. Klíčovou součástí jsou rovněž relevantní socioekonomické a demografické charakteristiky - socioekonomický status, věk, pohlaví atd. Jakkoliv mohou tyto proměnné působit samozřejmě, orientace na ně lze pozorovat teprve od 80. let 20. st. Do té doby totiž převládaly přístupy zaměřené na cestu, které dopravu nechápou jako prostředek k naplnění potřeb jedince (nákup atd.), ale zaměřují se na dopravní toky jako takové (Schönfelder & Axhausen, 2009). Záležitostí několika posledních let je postupné zapojování technologií (kupř. GPS lokátorů) za účelem zpřesnění časové a prostorové složky průzkumu (např. Lee-Gosselin & 27

Harvey, 2006; Kracht, 2006; Wolf, 2006). Se zapojením technologií umožňujících sběr takto citlivých dat takto intenzivním způsobem rovněž nabývá na významu etická stránka výzkumu (Dons et al., 2015). A pokud jde o dopravní plánování, nelze pominout rovněž politický rozměr tématu. Průzkumy dopravního chování totiž nabývají v kontextu probíhajících společenských změn na významu. A to jak na straně osob a institucí odpovědných za strategické dopravní plánování a řízení poptávky po dopravě, tak i na straně uživatelů dopravy (Griffiths, Richardson, & LeeGosselin, 2000). V případě první zmíněné skupiny lze poukázat na čím dál silnější tlak k efektivnímu využívání veřejných prostředků, které se neobejde bez existence dat o aktuálním stavu dopravního systému. Zodpovědné rozhodování v dopravě musí být podloženo datově podpořenými analýzami stávajícího stavu a trendů v minulých obdobích. Stejně tak důležité je průběžné i zpětné porovnávání vlivu implementovaných opatření na poptávku po dopravě. Průzkumy dopravního chování zde mohou přinést data, na jejichž základě lze optimalizovat dopravu k větší spokojenosti jejích uživatelů (Zmud, Lee-Gosselin, Munizaga & Carrasco, 2013). Není proto divu, že jsou informace plynoucí z průzkumů žádána na různých úrovních, od lokální (Transport for London, 2011) přes národní (New Zealand Ministry of Transport, 2009) až po mezinárodní (Armoogum, 2014). Aplikace průzkumu dopravního chování: Územní generel dopravy Bratislava Konkrétním příkladem průzkumu dopravního chování pak může být ten, který tvořil klíčovou část Územního generelu dopravy města Bratislava, realizovaný Centrem dopravního výzkumu, v.v.i. Podkladem pro realizaci průzkumu přitom byla metodika DOPIKOT (Biler et al., 2014). Průzkum samotný se uskutečnil na jaře a na podzim roku 2014 na vzorku 10 115 domácností, resp. na vzorku necelých 20 tisíc respondentů. Z důvodu neexistující opory výběru v podobě adresních bodů byla jako metoda sběru dat použita náhodná procházka spolu s Kishovými tabulkami, přičemž byl dbán důraz na proporční zastoupení domácností v rámci každé ze 134 základních sídelních jednotek v Bratislavě. Ústředním prvkem průzkumu pak byl aktivitně-cestovní deník, kde měli respondenti v rámci dvou vygenerovaných rozhodných dnů zaznamenat proměnné jako místo a čas první cesty pro daný den, zvolený dopravní mód, cíl nebo účel cesty atd. Rovněž byly zjišťovány s mobilitou související položky typu vlastnictví automobilu nebo jízdního kola, ale též socioekonomické prvky jako velikost domácnosti či nejvyšší dosažená úroveň vzdělání.

Jako výchozí metoda oslovování respondentů byla zvolena PAPI. Respondenti také měli možnost vyplnit dotazník způsobem CAWI, což však využilo pouze 10 % z nich. U každé domácnosti přitom byl alespoň třikrát učiněn pokus o kontaktování, přičemž první pokus byl učiněn týden před plánovaným termínem rozhovoru. Výsledky přinesly celou řadu důležitých informací pro územní plánování, ale rovněž zajímavých poznatků z hlediska sociologie. To vše již na úrovni deskriptivních statistik. Víme například, že přibližně 50 % dotázaných domácností v Bratislavě vlastní právě jedno osobní auto, ovšem dalších 36 % vlastní auta dvě a zhruba šestina domácností pak auta tři. Zároveň víme, že 80 % aut parkuje na veřejných prostranstvích. Kombinace těchto informací je přitom klíčová při tvorbě parkovacích politik. Pokud zůstaneme u dopravního módu, téměř všichni oslovení respondenti buď přímo vlastní, nebo alespoň mají k dispozici jízdní kolo. Pro veškeré účely vykonání cest (do práce, školy, za službami, za volnočasovými aktivitami apod.) však jízdní kolo zvolila pouze 2 % dotázaných osob. Při interpretaci tohoto výsledku je však nutné vzít v potaz podzimní období, v němž byla dotázána naprostá většina respondentů. Stejně tak se ale můžeme ptát na to, jakým způsobem využívají senioři v Bratislavě veřejnou dopravu, nadto ve srovnání s jiným, byť v určitém ohledu podobně konstituovaným městem. Tím může být třeba Brno. Bratislava i Brno jsou města podobné velikosti, v obou městech má MHD dlouhou tradici a je poměrně rozvinutá. Využívání MHD obyvateli obou měst se ovšem liší. Například brněnští senioři nad 70 let využívají MHD o 64 % více, než stejně staří Bratislavané. Nabízí se proto otázka po zdroji tohoto rozdílu: Je relativně nízký podíl cest podniknutých cest mezi bratislavskými seniory dán nedostatečně rozvinutou infrastrukturou veřejné dopravy v aktuální podobě, do čehož spadá jak vzdálenost zastávky, tak cena jízdného, nebo jde o relativně stabilní vzorec chování, podmíněný dřívější strukturou? Podobných otázek, s velmi konkrétními důsledky, ale i s teoretickým přesahem, si pak můžeme položit celou řadu. Závěrem Navzdory politické relevanci a nezpochybnitelným dopadům v každodenním životě nelze v ČR průzkumy dopravního chování považovat za etablované, přinejmenším tedy ne nad rámec municipální úrovně (Braun Kohlová, Škopková, & Urban, 2007; Šenk & Kouřil, 2014). Podobně je to se sociologickým zkoumáním mobilitních jevů jako takových – navzdory rozličným aplikačním možnostem či prostoru pro tvorbu teoretického rámce (de Boer, 1986). 29

Jedním z důvodů může být integrace dílčích poznatků a postupů sociologie do jiných disciplín, jakým jsou dopravní plánování či dopravní modelování. Jak už ovšem bylo představeno výše, nejde o jednoznačný trend. Příkladem může být orientace na kulturní a společenské souvislosti bezpečnosti dopravního provozu (Hattaka, 2000). Rigorózní metodologický a statistický aparát se stává nezbytnou součástí tvorby a evaluace evidence-based policy v oblasti dopravy. V posledních letech jsme dále svědky vzedmuté vlny občanského aktivismu v oblasti cyklodopravy či obecněji dopravní politiky. To a mnohé další nepochybně představuje prostor pro rozvoj sociologického zkoumání dopravy. Míra naplnění těchto aspirací však záleží a bude záležet na přístupu odborníků (nejen) z řad sociologů, ať už v českém či v širším kontextu.

„Každý chlap bije holku, když je mrdka.“ Ke konstrukci maskulinity a násilí v sociálně vyloučené lokalitě Příspěvek se zabývá významem maskulinity pro porozumění násilí v sociálně vyloučených lokalitách. Pro účely této studie je násilí definováno jako způsobení újmy, ať už pomocí fyzické síly, anebo verbálních invektiv. Doposud bylo násilí v daném kontextu převážně interpretováno strukturálně – jako záležitost podmíněná sociálním vyloučením, pozůstatky tradiční romské kultury anebo obojího. Výjimky z tohoto pravidla částečně představuje práce Zuzany Trachtové věnovaná bitkám romských teenagerů z Prahy a můj terénní výzkum zaměřený na chápání bezpečnosti ve vyloučené lokalitě Havířov-Šumbark. V obou je kladen důraz na perspektivu samotných aktérů násilí, přičemž jsou specifikovány kulturní modely násilí, kladoucí jej do souvislosti s potřebou uznání, věkem, třídou a genderem. Můj příspěvek, koncipovaný jako představení prozatímních výsledků analýzy, kterou bych chtěl nakonec publikovat v některém z domácích odborných periodik, na tento badatelský směr navazuje. Současně však chce přispět ke stále poněkud střípkovitému zkoumání „mužů na okraji“, jímž se česká sociologie a obecně sociální vědy vyznačují (I. Šmídová). Jako svého druhu úvod do studia násilného jednání mužů na spodní hranici sociálního spektra jsou zde nastíněny tři základní úrovně, na nichž je vhodné násilí studovat. Násilí a maskulinita bývá studováno pospolu. Vzhledem k tomu, že mezi pachateli násilí značně převažují muži, to je vcelku pochopitelné. Často se objevuje pojetí, v němž muži hrají roli útočníků a ženy obětí. Jakkoli je značně zjednodušené a ve své podstatě stereotypní, stále odpovídá jednomu z důležitých výzkumných přístupů. Také já se nejprve budu soustředit na fenomén partnerského, domácího či intimního násilí. Pokusím se přitom ukázat, že toto jednání je primárně motivováno koncepcemi maskulinity a feminity, které jeho aktéři mají zřejmě internalizovány. Tyto koncepce jsou nicméně uplatňovány rovněž v případě násilí páchaného muži na mužích. Takové mezilidské konflikty, jichž jsem byl během svého výzkumu svědkem, byly obvykle interpretovány jako způsob maskulinní konstrukce. Zkrátka „dělali chlapy“, jak to 13

osvětlovali moji informanti. Tato skutečnost se rovněž projevuje ve způsobu slovního napadání. Údajné hraní ženských rolí muži bylo využíváno k ponížení druhého, sexuálními praktikami počínaje, zdůrazňováním femininní tělesné konstrukce oponenta konče. „Jsi žena“ – tato slova byla v jedné hádce míněna jako vážná urážka. Konečně poslední rovinou je využívání násilí za účelem sebe-poškozování. Maskulinita je vnitřně prožívanou skutečností, pro své aktéry nezřídka něco podstatného znamená. Nejsou-li s to naplnit maskulinní ideál, hrozí, že bude k řešení tohoto identitárního napětí uplatněno násilí. Tímto způsobem interpretuji sebevraždu jednoho z mých informantů. Původně jsem se domníval, že byla vyvolána jeho závislostí na výherních automatech a pervitinu a s nimi spojeným zadlužením. Informanti, jimž jsem tento názor prezentoval, jej však odmítli. Pro ně byla sebevražda spíše důsledkem neschopnosti unést selhání v naplňování v maskulinních rolích partnera a otce. Přestože je genderový řád hierarchicky uspořádaný, neznamená to, že ti, kdo zaujímají dominantní pozice, jsou prosti vnitřních tenzí. Právě snaha dostát své mužské roli, která je do jisté míry vymezena ochotou či nutností užít násilí při řešení sporů, by měla být začleněna do výzkumu násilí v sociálně vyloučených lokalitách a nepochybně nejen tam. Hranice mezi sociálně vyloučenými a těmi ostatními nesmí sloužit k exotizaci studovaných. Naopak by měla být využita při reflexi vztahu mezi maskulinitou a násilí jako obecného fenoménu, jehož rozsah je sám předmětem studia.

Facebooku Prezentované téma vychází z mé bakalářské práce, nazvané Cílený politický marketing na českém internetu: komparativní studie. Práce praktického charakteru byla věnována kampaním politických stran ve volbách v roce 2014. V teoretické rovině text vycházel zejména z prolnutí teorie sociálních sítí a teorie politického marketingu. V praktické části byla zkoumána komunikace politických stran na sociální síti Facebook a podrobena obsahové analýze. Cílem práce bylo určit témata, jakými vybrané strany ve své komunikaci cílily na své voliče.

Teoretické pozadí V teorii sociálních sítí jsem vycházel z Manuela Castellse a jeho konceptu digital world. Politické subjekty začaly využívat online prostředí pro svou propagaci, ale voliči získali zcela nový komunikační kanál, který dokáže substituovat masmédia. V rovině politického marketingu jsem pak vycházel z konceptu kampaně orientované na voliče. Politická strana nikdy necílí na všechny voliče v dané oblasti, ale vždy na konkrétní segment. Politické strany se chovají tak, aby prezentovaná témata co nejvíce odrážela preference cílové skupiny. Nepřesvědčují, nepřemlouvají, jen dokazují, že jejich program je v souladu s tím, co voliči chtějí.

Praktická část Při výzkumu postojů voličů různých politických se obvykle používají obsáhlá dotazníková šetření. Já jsem se rozhodl jím na věc z opačné stránky a zjistit preference voličů z toho, jak a na jaké segmenty politické strany ve svých kampaních cílí. Vycházel jsem z premisy, že strany své voliče, potažmo volební segment už mají zmapovaný. Komparací cílových segmentů, jsem pak hledal překryvy na volebním trhu. Analýze byly podrobeny statusy na facebookových stránkách politických stran a jejich mládežnických organizací, které jsem rozdělil do tří skupin – etablované (ČSSD, ODS, KDU-

ČSL a TOP 09), protestní (Hnutí Úsvit, Hnutí ANO a SPOZ) a antisystémové (KSČM a DSSS). Statusy jsem získal metodou scrapingu dat pomocí nástroje R Studio s balíčkem Rfacebook package. Do analýzy byla zahrnuta pouze textová sdělení, nikoliv externí odkazy, fotografie apod. Celkem bylo zkoumáno 1532 statusů. Těm jsem přidělil klíčová slova podle toho, o čem status pojednává. Zároveň jsem ke každému klíčovému slovu přiřadil znaménko „+“ nebo „-„ podle toho, zda strana hovoří o subjektu/tématu v pozitivní, nebo negativní hodnotové konotaci. Klíčových slov bylo celkem přiřazeno 2102. Zkoumána byla dvě časová období: Měsíc před volbami do europarlamentu (od 23. 4. do 23. 5. 2014). Dále pak měsíc před komunálními volbami a prvním kolem voleb do Senátu (od 10. 9. do 10. 10. 2014). Hypotézy byly následující 1) Politické subjekty, zařazené pro potřeby práce do skupiny „antisystémové strany“ volí podobná témata a prezentují je ve stejných hodnotových rovinách. 2) Politické strany zařazené do skupiny „etablované strany“ necílí na potenciální voliče antisystémových stran. 3) Protestní hnutí věnují většinu své komunikace kritice etablovaných politických stran. První hypotézu nebylo možné potvrdit ani vyvrátit kvůli nízké aktivitě antisystémových stran (139 sdělení u DSSS, 44 u KSČM). Strany sice komunikovaly vesměs o zcela odlišných tématech, ale vzhledem k nízkému počtu sdělení by vyslovení jednoznačného závěru nebylo relevantní. U druhé hypotézy lze pozorovat průniky mezi tématy, které akcentovala DSSS, a mezi tématy nastolenými občanskými demokraty. ODS stejně jako Dělnická strana kladla značný důraz na kritiku Evropské unie a euroměny. Obě strany vycházely z podobných ideových pozic, kdy shodně argumentovaly nutností ochránit suverenitu a další prvky zastřešené nacionalismem. Do jisté míry se strany shodly i v kritice islámu. Hypotéza tak byla vyvrácena. Třetí hypotéza byla také vyvrácena. Nelze potvrdit, že tematické okruhy prezentované v kampaních byly namířeny jen proti etablovaným stranám. Hnutí ANO prezentovalo zejména úspěchy, kterých ve spolupráci s právě etablovanými stranami dosáhlo. I když se ke kritice stran samozřejmě uchýlilo, celkový poměr takovýchto sdělení není převažující. Hnutí Úsvit sice etablované strany kritizovalo více, ale vzhledem k širokému záběru prezentovaných témat kritika dosavadní politické situace sice byla podstatným prvkem kampaně, ale ne primární. 35

Závěr a zhodnocení metody V prezentacích stran nedocházelo k překryvům v cílených segmentech v takové míře, jakou jsem původně předpokládal. K výrazným překryvům docházelo zejména v případě koaličních stran. Zajímavým poznatkem však je, že jedna z etablovaných stran, ODS, se v komunikovaných tématech pouštěla za hranu tradičního elektorátu a snažila se cílit i na voliče, na které zároveň cílila ultrapravicová DSSS. Metoda zkoumání se u části sledovaných subjektů ukázala jako nedostatečná. Bylo to dáno jak selekcí sledovaných sdělení, tak i nízkou aktivitou některých subjektů na Facebooku. I přesto ale metoda přinesla řadu zajímavých poznatků, které mohou nalézt uplatnění při kombinaci s dalšími metodami zkoumání aktivit politických stran na této sociální síti.

Intelectual civil war: Guardians and Raiders of master narrative in Chomsky affair The purpose of study is to describe and analyse a recent event, more specifically public scandal that emerged in the context of post-communist Czech public space. The whole event which was triggered by a visit of Noam Chomsky and his statements on East-European dissidents became known as the Intellectual civil war or Chomsky Affair. This working paper analyses the event as an important discussion, or rather clash of identities, narratives or memory groups and more generally as a link in the chain of events that play an important role in reinterpretation of the master (hegemonic) narrative on “communist past” and “democratic present”. Contribution is methodologically based on a discourse analysis of newspaper articles from given period (June – August 2014; mainstream journals, commentaries, blogs etc.). Methodological background is derived from theories close to critical discourse analysis, namely Ruth Wodak and her interdisciplinary book – The discoursive construction of History. Similarly to other public conflicts at the time (before refugee crisis), Chomsky affair was a conflict about the past and memory, about Czech recent history, particularly about an “communist era” which is called “normalization”. Two decades of normalization were outlined by the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 21th of September 1968 and the Velvet revolution in 1989. From the post-68 communists point of view this period was framed by a return from a deviation of the path towards communism. This deviation is called “Prague spring” - it means liberalisation and social reforms which should result in experiment which had its famous name - “socialism with a human face”. This new form of socialism was seen as something, according to Milan Kundera, the world has never seen before. This experiment was violently interrupted by invasion and the situation was gradually “normalized” in a way that everything which was enacted during Prague Spring had to be abandoned. After the Velvet revolution, the situation has significantly changed. Forty years of previous regime (1948 – 1989) was interpreted in hegemonic discourse as an deviation from the western mainstream of history; as an dead-end of history and it naturally means that Czechoslovakia have to culturally and politically go back before this deviation. The ultimate goal of the 15

transformation from dictatorship to liberal democracy was “west” in its most abstract form. People in Czechoslovakia and lately Czech Republic have lived the last utopia of central Europe. In last ten years, it is possible to observe a slow disintegration of this utopia which is accompanied by the attempts to refresh its persuasiveness by a certain parts of the intellectual and media elites. Chomsky affair was in fact one of the last events of this kind. The focus is on two main groups involved in this event - “Guardians” and “Raiders” of the master narrative. I will describe the discourse field which is outlined by the conflict of those two groups as well as I will focus on their arguments, rhetorical figures and cultural narratives. In the case of “Guardians” (side of the first strong critics of Chomsky´s statements) the centre of attention will be on the strong reactions they made. Those reactions are interpreted as defensive responses that are determined by the Czech post-revolutionary master narrative and its recent weakening. In the case of “Raiders of the master narrative” (group of people strongly criticizing critics of Chomsky). I will focus on an attempt to redefine a post-revolutionary narrative which the group made in order to narrate the master narrative differently. In the end, I will provide a cultural-sociological analysis of cultural conditions of struggles or scandals of this kind which occasionally emerge in Czech public discourse.

Local art worlds and the construction of pseudofreedoms in Yugoslavia (1945-1992) My research focuses on small Hungarian periodicals in Yugoslavia, in the period between 1945 and the disintegration of the state during the 1990’s. I define small periodicals as literary or art journals, which lasted from a single issue, up to five years the most. I analyse them as one of the manifestations of local art worlds, and intra-urban coproduction networks. These publications were mostly edited and written by teenagers and young people in their early twenties, but under close surveillance of the socialist authorities. Local officials made it possible to publish articles, poems, short stories, thus enabling local cultural production and critical reception, constructing a discourse of a local pseudo-freedom of speech, and omitting the need for samizdat on one side, but, creating the circumstances for control, supervision and sanctions on the other. These local periodicals usually lasted no longer than one or two years, but some of them appeared for only one or two issues. Yugoslav cities or towns with a Hungarian majority or a significant Hungarian urban community such as Senta (Zenta) or Subotica (Szabadka) produced several periodicals ranging from only one issue, to really successful ones appearing for several decades. The research however, focuses only on journals being published up to five years at most. In this sense, long term literary, art or cultural magazines were more of an exception, and less the rule. The teams of young people comprising the art worlds were highly motivated and creative, their efforts were however, often slowed down or obstructed from the municipal authorities. Accordingly, local journals were also alive until they became too critical, and thus posed a threat to the local elite. This happened often after a few issues, and sometimes after a few years, but the procedure was always the same. On the surface, the local cultural or youth organisations, such as the Vojvodinian Federal Youth Socialist Organisation, or the respective cultural committee of the local government financially supported these initiatives. This created a social climate of free speech, liberal youth media and independent artistic environment. In reality, these local art worlds and the journals within them, were more

determined by municipal decisions, censorship and auto-censorship, than the editors and staff could ever imagine. These art worlds were supported by local pools of resources and coproduction networks rarely extending beyond municipal borders. They were usually centred around a few individuals, who built the core of the editorial, with a varying number of people appearing on a more irregular basis. The journals were just the focal points of these ties connecting young writers and artists; journalists who published humorous, but polemical articles and essays on local matters. These personal ties were linked to local institutions of culture, connecting museums, concert halls and theatres directly to the periodical. With these relations on site, the journals had almost every predisposition to develop into something much larger than the local community. Local authorities or municipal officials of the League of Communists supported these initiatives. Scarce but sufficient funding was made available, thus starting journals like these was usually not a problem. Maintaining them was. However, since funding was tied to governmental structures, restrictions were also connected to them. When the voice of the periodical became too critical, or the editors refused to hand in the upcoming issue for inspection before giving it into print, the funding channels dried up without further notice. This way, in congruence with higher strata of party hierarchy and daily politics of the state, local elites created finely tuned mechanisms of surveillance and control. They constructed a quasi-free environment for social and political criticism, art and literature. Almost every first issue of these journals started with a text celebrating freedom of speech, but as soon as this freedom had been used even in the most remote or naive fashion, the journal was abolished. Despite stating, that the local periodical serves the local community by informing it truly and in accordance with the “revolutionary processes”, that it was established in order to nurture freedom of expression, this freedom was maintained only in the explicit vocabulary, but much less in practice. The developing art worlds sustaining these journals with events, human resources and overall material were left without a periodical. They would have to wait for another group to establish another periodical, and only after could the work continue where it stopped a few months, a few years or even a decade before. In comparison to the Eastern bloc however, these periodicals proved to contribute sufficient manoeuvring space for future intellectuals, of whom several are significant figures in literature, politics, music and art even today. Samizdat was not as widespread in Yugoslavia as it was in the Soviet Union or its satellite states in Central-Eastern Europe. This practice of establishing/abolishing, writing under surveillance and delimitation of freedoms proved to be just enough not to launch outer-institutional or illegal publishing alternatives. 40

These journals, although having an artificially short lifespan could somewhat contribute to the ongoing debates in the public sphere, while maintaining the legal framework granted by the local authorities. Every time funding was withdrawn, thus disabling future publishing, a new periodical emerged in a few months time. Publishing essays, poems or prose underground was never an option in these communities. As tomorrow is shaped by today, they are both shaped by the past. My aim is firstly to digitalize these small periodicals and to preserve them for the future, and secondly, to put the censorship process into a historical and political perspective. It is essential to disseminate the development of these local art worlds, and compare them with one another. They did not exist in a vacuum, but in a specific political and cultural context. Moreover, social theories of tomorrow are shaped not just by their use within sociology, but their applicability in other disciplines as well. This research is based on a material attributed to literary or art history, but the analysis combines the theoretical framework with sociological theories and cultural studies in order to look into power relations, the strength of weak ties, political objectives, the public sphere, coproduction networks or encoding mechanisms.

The Space of Extinction: Sociology after the Future In the view of Nick Land meltdown is the current condition of the world today. The Anthropocene is progressing toward the unimaginable. Sociology must react to these changing ecological conditions: the advent of hyperobjects such as global warming forces social theory to come to terms with the possibility that there might not be any future at all. According to the Italian philosopher Franco Bifo Berardi we are already living "after the future." During the course of the 20th century, a veritable plethora of movements was predicated upon utopian ideas relating to an imagined ideal future. Such utopias have beenespecially over the last few decades-, thoroughly discredited. Environmental meltdown does not differentiate between human and non-human actors. The spaces we inhabit are becoming 'zombified', therefore we must acclimatize ourselves to the space of absence. The Absentology Collective's goal is to create an analytical framework that can contribute to conceptualizing and reimagining presence. According to the absentological viewpoint, social theory does not merely relate to present objects or social processes, but can also integrate so-called 'absent presences'. Jennifer L. Croissant has written of the need for a sociology that takes account of absences. This kind of sociology for instance does not only analyze knowledge, but also non-knowledge. This kind of discourse that Croissant had introduced into social theory can be looked upon as a continuation of Francois Laruelle's "system of non-philosophy." In the past few years several antropologists have also researched the role of absent objects in social life. Absentology as social-scientific practice is the practice of integrating social absences. Its focus is on vacuous, "empty" places. Even ruins have their aesthetic charm, buildings, even destroyed ones can go through several transitions. Often a ruin can lend itself to new, unforeseen usages. The breakdown of functionality in the case of ruined factories that have fallen into disuse, can open up space for a new temporalities. Zombified social space becomes filled with survivors who should not be part of that space: malignant actants replace anthropomorphs. Evan Calder-Williams, for instance, sees the zombie as the most pertinent metaphor for describing contemporary society.

We must reimagine the social in a non-anthropocentric manner. In this, we would rely upon Bruno Latour's actor-network theory, which we have explicated in the Hungarian context. The Latourian paradigm integrates nonhumans into an abstracted political community. This community of organisms, hybrids and synthetics could even possibly survive the demise of the human element. In this regard, posthumanism may be of use in analyzing the collapse of human hegemony. Sociology must come to terms with human finitude, and the finitude of human networks. The Antropocene fundamentally alters all forms of connectivity on Earth. Thom Van Dooren a cultural anthropologist has written about the many surprising and unexpected side-effects of the extinction of vultures. The disappearance of certain social actors is a liability for all other members of the network, because of the fundamental circumstance of social entanglement. Additionally, we seek to expand and radicalize this approach with a specifically absentological analysis, through placing the emphasis on absent presences, the presence of non-presence. In this regard, authors such as Tim Edensor and Dylan Trigg may be of use, as they have written extensively on the materiality of absence, specifically ruined buildings. Imagining the "end" is, of necessity, also an aesthetic task, one that demands the utilization of aesthetics informed by dark pessimism. Therefore we would also bring speculative authors such as Thomas Ligotti, Nicola Masciandaro, Reza Negarestani and Eugene Thacker into the debate. Our presentation and essay will be a hybrid mixture of non-anthropocentric social theory, materiality studies pertaining to ruins and pessimism. We would seek to concretize this approach with two specifically local examples from Hungary. The first would be abandoned factories and their aesthetic, environmental, biological and ecological values. Our approach would seek to broaden the scope of analysis, and question discourses that problematize ruination and abandonment. Various entities thrive in the environs of disused buildings. In little time, weeds can overrun human assemblages, occupying spaces formerly devoted to the production of pollution. Nonproduction, in terms of destroyed and foreclosed economic value-production, transforms into the proliferation of subversive weed-entities, worming their way through nooks and crannies, swarming through cracks in walls that have fallen out of maintenance. Once maintenance abates, anthropocentric biopower cannot restrict the scope of rival lifeforms. What seems to be a scene of desolation and nonproduction is revealed as the site of new productivities. Our second local example would be the so-called "sleeping villages", "sleeping suburbs" in Budapest outskirts. According to popular usage, a sleeping suburb is a residential area where there is little or no civic life, almost no job 43

opportunities, and the population basically commutes into a nearby city. The sleeping suburb is the ruin of human sociality, and can serve as a metaphor for human evanescence. Nevertheless, as we hope to show, abandonment also breeds new opportunities, opening a way for a posthuman future. Complex lifeforms, once they attain degradation, become shelters serving as residences for bacterial life and scavengers. In summary, the absentological approach would seek to give voice to those social actants we normally abandon. Networks are never as vacant or empty as they may seem. Sociology, informed by the absentological imperative to take note of absences and interrogate the relationalities emancipated by vacancy, can finally come into adequation with the contemporary vacancies that surround us, as well as the complex interrelations between absences and presences.

The sociology of sexuality nowadays: A short history, a bright future and some data. Sexuality and sociology. Two words that rarely meet, however they are bonded together more than one would think. Because sexuality, just like gender, is a social construction, ipso facto strongly shaped by society. (Bussey, Bandura 1999) (Giddens 2009:579) (Johansson 2014:19) In this extended abstract, I will show a short history of the sociology of sexuality from the beginning until today, and flare up some of the main theories and the possible future of this unique field of study. Last but not least, I will share the key findings of my previous desk research on the sexual behaviour of Hungarian youth, in a Central-European context, where I can.

Questions What are the milestones in the history and theory of the sociology of sexuality? How can we describe the sexual behavior of Hungarian youth? What kinds of factors have effects on the sexual behavior of Hungarian youth?

The sociology of sexuality - history, theories and future History Sexuality attracted the attention of natural sciences earlier than that of others. Throughout modernity, sex belonged mostly to medical science, biology, and psychology. These disciplines concentrated on the physiological, biological, and psychological aspects of sex. From the 1950s, however, sexuality started to become more and more related to society. The first huge research on the topic was conducted by A. C. Kinsey in the US in the 50s. He examined basic sexual behaviors, and his results shocked the American public. (Giddens 2009:591) (Kinsey 1948; 1953) Later, in the late 50s, Winston Ehrmann and Ira Reiss studied Premarital Dating Behavior (1959). The next step was John Gagnons’ and William Simons’ whole new, social constructionist approach, presented in the 70s. (Gagnon and Simon 1974; Delamater 2015:1) Michael Foucault and Anthony Giddens have also earned a distinguished 19

place in this socio-sexual discussion, from the 70s to the 90s they brought sexuality even closer to the focus of sociological thinking. (Foucault 1984; Giddens 1993) Nowadays there are more possibilities than ever before to study sexuality from the perspective of sociology. More and more papers appear in the Journal of Sex Research written by sociologists, there are plenty of applied studies by WHO and by independent researchers, and last year a brilliant book came out in the topic entitled: Handbook of the Sociology of Sexualities. (DeLamater and Plante 2015)

Theory and future The first and most basic theory is Sexual scripting theory. This is essentially a social constructionist way of thinking applied to sex, inspired mostly by the previously mentioned Gagnon and Simon. The basic idea of this theory is that sexual behavior, like all kinds of social behavior, is socially scripted. (DeLamater and Hasday 2007:6 ; DeLamater and Plante 2015:7) Another important theory is the Sexual fields theory which is basically a rewriting of the Bourdieuian fields theory, from a sexual perspective, or more explicitly, an addition to it. The sexual fields framework tries to explain sexual behaviour using, among others, Bourdieu’s „routine practice”. (Bourdieu 1990 ; DeLamater and Plante 2015:23) The drive to study society from a bird’s eye perspective is as old as sociological thinking. Macro theories about people’s sexuality share this approach, using worldwide concepts applicable to all kinds of societies. The combination of biological and sociological theories is getting more and more important. This could be „a scientific match” and the future of studying human sexuality, with more studies from this kind of cooperation. (DeLamater and Plante 2015:41) The last theoretical frame I mention here also has a bright future. It is called the Lifecourse perspective. This basically includes studying sexuality in different stages of peoples’s lives, examining the relations between sexual behaviours in the different stages, and seeing them as lifelong variables. (DeLamater and Plante 2015:65) This last approach fits the most with my research on the sexual behavior of Hungarian youth.

About the data Most of the data used in this research are from the Hungarian Youth 2012 survey. This is a survey with flawless sampling methodology conducted every 4 years in Hungary with 8000 participants. (Székely 2012) 46

Key findings In Hungarian youth, there is a decrease in the average age the first intercourse happens. In 2012 Hungarian youngsters between 16 and 20 had their first intercourse at the average age of 16,2. This age is a year less than it was in 2007, when Hungary was ranked 4th of the eight Central-European countries. (Avery and Lazdane 2007) There are significant differences in sexual behavior, among others by gender, level of education, location, and religious raising. Young Hungarian men have their first sexual intercourse earlier and have sex generally more often than young women. The effect of location (village, town, city) is only contrasty between the capital and villages. Surprisingly, religious raising has an effect only on the time of the first intercourse, but has almost nothing to do with the frequency of sexual intercourses.

The interpretation universities

of

sexual

harassment

in

As the title says, my research is about the interpretation of sexual harassment in universities. The reason for this that sexual harassment and assault was common during the introductory weeks for freshmens at different universities, and the subject did not realized what was happening with her, or realized it later. The main reason that these atrocities can happen is that there is still a strict taboo on sexuality, which can prevent the subjects of these assaults to openly talk about what happened to them, and prevents them in the act of asking for help. Unfortunately the few studies that are closely connected to Hungary are inaccessible, so I had to rely in my research on other studies. It is common in them, that they point out hypermasculinity (Hunter 2003, Malamuth 1995) as an indicator of sexual aggression, but what is more important in my view, they touch on the topic of rape acceptance (Sierra 2010) which may have more importance on a larger scale. Because of the nature of the topic, I decided that the most useful data collection would be doing interviews with focus groups, which are currently in progress.

Methods As method of research I use interviews with focus groups of five to eight persons, in eight groups split into two categories. The first category is those who have their first year at the university, while those who belong to the second category are university student for a minimum of two years. The main reason of this is to see, how their view on sexuality and sexual harassment changed in this new environment.

Findings During the interviews it is revealed to me that the rape myths have a strong grip on younger students, they still believe that the victim is somehow responsible, and they somehow could avoid it if they really wanted it. A portion of the subjects simply declined to talk about this topic, reasoning that they do not have to do anything with it.

Conclusion Before finishing all of the planned interviews I cannot draw a clear conclusion of this topic, but I clearly see that rape myths and rape tolerant behaviours are widely spread among the students, and in our society, and because of it, victims may not fully understand what happened with them, or they do not want to ask for help in fear of stigmatization.

Making problems public in „East“ and „West” during the second half of 20th century: Drug Policies and Drug Use in the case of Germany (Frankfurt) and the Czech Republic (Prague) I present the development of Czech (primarily Prague) drug policies, linking them with context – forms of drug use, politics, police, media , etc.– and comparing them with the “western” part of Europe (mainly with Germany, Frankfurt am Main). Pointing out differences and similarities between the development in communistic and non-communistic countries, my aim is to provide a narrative account, which necessarily is simplification, sketching the most important features of making this particular problem public and questioning the division between both parts of the world. I describe similarities of the post-war situation in both parts of the world – “West” and “East”. This period of time was characterized by the fact that drug issues were not handled in a public arena such as a political problem but rather the issue stayed in the hands of medical experts. Furthermore, in both separated parts of the world, “drugs” were used to establish the category of “others” and to consequent scapegoating. Moreover, it was used to a mutual othering; an example from the USA speaks for itself: „Subversion through drug addiction is an established aim of communist China,“ (Blackmann 2004, 37). Meanwhile, in the former Czechoslovakia use of so called “western drugs” was framed as a part of “Western lifestyle”, „Western disease”. Drug use and might also rose in both “camps” during the 60s and 70s (there are not comparable statistics to support this thesis). In addition to all these similarities, considering the legislature, there was a new international agreement – 1961 U.N. Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs – that was ratified by Czechoslovakia as well as “Western” countries in following years. This agreement is significant for the establishment of world drug prohibition dispositive (see Herschinger 2015 for elaboration of this concept) and symbolizes an approach towards drug issues in both parts of the world with a common core: conceptualization of drug use, which is claimed to be deviant and problem, and definition of 21

problem in terms of addiction. In contrast to the preceding part, now, I will discuss emerging differences. In “Western” countries, illicit drug use has seen drug-use rise rapidly and became a significant problem in 7Os. Concurrently, drug use was practiced by congregations of users in public space and was subject of public indignation and moral panics. Moral panics and indignation is attributed to the role of media as stimulating the problem and supporting the “othering” of drug users. Police, whom reacted with raids and use of force, were not successful in solving the problem. On the contrary, police action only deteriorated the situation. The failure of coercive policies, which could be, plausibly, attributed to higher economic inequalities, pertinent societal crisis (economic, urban etc.) and less strict social control, led to the shift in the nature of open drug scenes. Marginalized drug users with a “junkie” subculture took over. In the “East”, it seems, drug use did not rise in such an extent. However, generally there was a rise in use of mind altering substances. In contrast to the “West”, forms of use were different for example: use of heroin, which caused epidemic in “west”, was exceptional. Instead of that, homemade drugs, based mostly on medicine, were used. Secondly, in Czechoslovakia flourished a so called “pill culture” – misuse of legal pills – which became part of mainstream culture. Drug issue was taboo (see Radimecký 2007) because it was regarded as “Western” problem. Consequently, the issue was held out of sight, there was little social awareness of this issue. Social control was tougher, official media outlets were under control of the state (not informing about the situation), police were able to prosecute users with higher efficiency, and an alternative movement was suppressed during so called “normalization”. As a result, firstly, subcultures of drug users were hidden compared to public congregation of users in “West” and, secondly, the issue stayed mostly in hands of medical specialists and was handled as a medical problem until 1989 (Kalina 2007). By not making the issue public, this had significant consequences. The difference is apparent, considering that following 1971 U.N. Convention on Psychotropic Substances was ratified by Czechoslovakia as late as in 1989. Similar (non) reaction is reported by Nožina (1997) on the level of national legislature, while in Germany there was significant attention paid to “drug law” – Betäubungsmittelgesetz (BtMG). It is becoming clear, that In Czechoslovakia the problem was not made public and solutions were not sought, while, in the “West”, visible problems demanded solutions. Policy solutions were diverse; however, it is plausible to assume that there were two trends. The first was giving preference towards punitive solutions: repercussion against users and dealers. However later on, approach 51

towards users has been softer. Other trends stemming up from dissatisfaction with punitive solutions, stimulated the establishment of unique approach – harm reduction – and an establishment of pan-european institution: EMCDDA.

To finish the story, I briefly refer about post-communistic development, characterizing it as catching up with the “West”. However, after the fall of the communism, the Czech Republic situation was exceptional in one regard. The drug possession for own-use ceased to be a criminal offence. Catching up with the “West” in early the 90s, characterizes swift emergence of NGOs and west-like open urban drug scenes, which could be attributed to proliferation of problems hidden due to communist approach towards it. Moreover, the popularity of methamphetamines in Czech cities might be interpreted in the same manner. Unfortunately the Czech Rep. also caught up with medialization, “tabloidization” and politicization of drug issue. This combination led to the new legislation, defining the possession of drugs, once more as criminal offence. To conclude, the Czech culture caught up with both trends: punitive tendencies and expert supported harm-reduction approach (Czech experts were supported by foreign experts, bringing in concepts such as harm reduction, assessments, evaluations). To make a last note, the heritages of communism are apparent: lack of public confidence in official and medical institutions, lack of co-operation and occasional animosity between institutions (for example between police and NGOs).

constructions of identity in Croatia According to Radman (2002), the most negative social effect after the collapse of the socialist and a transition to a capitalist economic system is the mass unemployment. The only possible solution to unemployment became the development of new life strategies which are partly focused on the ability of handling the recent events, and partly on escaping them. The theme of this paper is the construction of identity in Croatia regarding employment. While doing so, the concepts mentioned will be from the Zygmunt Bauman’s essay: „From Pilgrim to Tourist – Or a short history of Identity“, regarding the strategies of identity and work category. In the paper, Bauman's four postmodern life strategies: the traveller, vagabond, tourist and player are placed in comparison with the dulled-down values of the working population in Croatia, where one can notice the deviation/concurrence with Bauman's classification. Empirical evidences for consumption, safety, consumation of drugs and religios practices in Croatia have been taken from the studies of the Zagreb Institute for Social Studies, in 2013. The pattern on which the study is based is a youth population ranging from an age of 15 to 34. In order to understand the contemporary constructions of identity regarding Bauman's division of strategies, it is necessary to take his ideas about work and modernity into account and apply them to the context in Croatia. The changes in these areas are fundamental for changes in identity. This would mean that insecurity in the field of employment, and therefore uncertainties regarding future as well, propagates alternative life strategies, and this is directly related to the authors ideas and the situation found in Croatian job market. In Bauman's work, this can be considered an age of uncertainty, changes, discontinuity, lacking prospects. The context in Croatia fits this image considering that the last few decades have been marked by a constant rise in unemployment ratings. Furthermore, according to a report by the Croatian Employment Institute dating from December 2015 „in late December of 2015, the Croatian Employment Institute registered the number of unemployed citizens at 285.468“. Conditions such as this one are what motivates the development of strategies such as Bauman's.

Regarding the first life strategy, that is, the traveller, it is possible to link him with the patterns of consumption and spending in Croatia by the youth that is mentioned in the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb study. The main characteristic of the traveller's is the eclecticism of all patterns mentioned, and a frequent change of identity to match this.All of this is connected to the consumption by which the traveller „consumes“ his identities. A study by the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb has been listed (2013:77) as coming to a conclusion that „the main role that good looks and branded clothing play in the life of a youth indicate that they are under pressure – even if they did not come to this without further questioning – to leave the best possible physical impression and build a certain image.“ According to the newest study of the Social Studies Institute of Zagreb, „good looks“ occupies the top priority spot among the Croatian youth in 2012“ (Radio slobodna Evropa, 2016) Ingla Timić-Koludrović (2008) also declared that „being part of the youth culture of contemporary society meant being included in consumption (however, not work as well).“ The other life strategy of vagabond, which includes roaming from place to place as a main characteristic in a figurative and literate sense, is much less present in the population of Croatia. Hence, the study of the Institute (2013: 8) states that a permanent place of residence is given the advantage in Croatia where „the coming generations, facing ever rising uncertainty in the socio-economic environment react by retreating to privacy and turning to their families“. This can be explained by the fact that the youth of Croatia, in a post-war period, found itself in a situation of „mass unemployment and low standards, with an environment where selecting potential options to increase productivity is not possible.“ (Tomić-Koludrović, 1999: 4). Because of this they become focused on the present and short-term plans. Due to the long running economic crises and the mass unemployment of young people, we can conclude that they are still in a similar situation. What is different today is that the search for security that cannot be found in Croatia takes them to EU countries abroad where they can study and/or work.This is a clear distinction from the vagabond model, since they do not leave for the sake of roaming, but for existential reasons. The third life strategy, the tourist, is characterized by the constant search for new experiences with the ultimate goal being the new experience alone.In Croatia, this could be compared to a rise of soft drugs consumers which is 30%, according to the Institute's study (2013:140) among the youth, while a quarter of them consider „consuming marijuana a modern thing“. The constant search for new experience is visible by the increasing participation in extreme sports. Poslovni Hr (2008) states that „even though they were restricted to a narrow part of population, extreme sports are attracting more and more adrenaline addicts each year“. 54

Regarding the final life strategy, the player, politics is a crucial element which can be seen as an example of changes within preferences depending on how successful the game is. For example, the religious aspect of the youth population, whereby 80% of young people believe in the existence of a deity...and the „dimension of believing regarding religiousness is stable during a 13 year period“. (Institute, 2013: 104) Meanwhile, the Institute studies (2013:110) also show that young people are more liberal and tolerant. This is the result of the player model, since the youth identity is being built according to the social imperatives even though they are in conflict with the elements of youth identity. Namely, according to a study by the Institute (2002:176), „with unemployment growth, impoverishment and an increase of social insecurity of citizens on the widest scale“ also grows the interest for those same issues. The same procedure was repeated regarding the freedom and rights of individuals as an individual goal which is considered to be a reaction to a breach of those rights. One should also mention that this is only about the acceptance of certain political goals, instead of the participation of youth in politics which is considered shallow and meets the disinterest of the general youth. Furthermore, what the final data points out is that the player strategy in constituting youth identity can be noted in Croatia since the year 2002. This would mean that the difficult conditions of establishing an identity have been present throughout the whole transition period. In this instance, we can say that the player life strategy is being applied. In addition to this strategy, it has been provedthat the traveller strategy is present, which shows us that identity is specified through consumption of various goods and content. Should we take into account the elements of youth lifestyle which bear the identity of the traveller or the player model, we can identify a young Croatian by using three main characteristics which are: identity through consumption: image, identity through tradition and the appropriation of some liberal progressive values.The level

at which each of those is

implemented into identity is the current social imperative. As Tomić-Koludrović and Petrić (2007:20) put it, retraditionalization of society and the impact of global trends which happen simultaneously are key for youth identity construction. The sociological pondering and conclusions cannot take place with the help of fixed categories, but are rather, in a time of constant change, forced to happen in a way where categories are given new meanings suitable to an age marked by change and fragmentation.

Shifting models of capitalism on the semi-periphery: Social Values and Technologies of Hungarian startups Start-ups – typically technology oriented companies with high growth potential that usually start their career as micro-enterprises (US Small Business Administration, no date) – are a cutting edge phenomenon in the core capitalist countries. However, in the last decade, technology-, knowledge- and innovation centred enterprises have appeared in countries that are on the semi-periphery of the global economy such as Hungary (Éber et al., 2014). The leading Hungarian IT start-ups, such as Prezi, Ustream or LogMeIn, are consciously trying to shape not only their external reputation but also a vision of capitalism and society. This consists of the social values of creativity, of the capacity for innovation, of meritocracy, and of the privileging of modern economic practices instead of ‘provincial’ ones (Veiszer, 2013). By this shift start-ups are establishing a new model of entrepreneurship centred on the risktaking, innovative and socially engaged figure of the entrepreneur hero, instead of the traditional Hungarian entrepreneurial model (Costa and Saraiva, 2012; Boltanski and Chiapello, 2007). As a result, start-ups aim to change the central values, practices and figures of local capitalism, i.e. the local spirit of capitalism. In my presentation I am going to use the Bridge Budapest Association as a case study. This non-profit association was established by the leading Hungarian IT start-ups: Prezi, Ustream, LogMeIn and NNG. According to its Articles of Association, the aim of the Bridge Budapest is to support and advocate talented young Hungarians and to introduce globally the regional scientific, technical, and highly creative knowledge (Bridge Budapest, 2015). At this moment the Association has three different running programs. The Bridge Builders program is an invitation-based program for young Hungarian professionals offering them a training in leadership that ‘want to empower Hungary’s future leaders to inspire and build a Hungary that is proud of its achievements and knowledge’ (Bridge Budapest, no date). The Fellowship program offers opportunity for youngsters to spend some weeks at one of the headquarters of

the Prezi, Ustream, LOgMeIn and NNG. The Story of my first million project consists of asking Hungarian entrepreneurs to tell the story of their first million, and thus show what it is like and why it is worth to do business ethically. My assumption is that the activities of the Bridge Budapest Association are not reducible to the notion of CSR, because their goal is not only to present the founder start-ups positively to their social and economic environment, but also more generally to produce discourses and narratives about the start-ups vision of capitalism and society. All three programs emphasize the importance of the ‘ethical business’, that is, business respecting the laws, founded on talent, innovation and hard work and which has a central role in society. In this narrative ethical business can become the core and the pulling force of a meritocratic society. As one interviewee said it, the Bridge Budapest offers an inclusive interpretation of the notion of civil society in which enterprises are also present, moreover, they are central to social development. Nevertheless, social change is imagined through the benefits of technological development that in this case is closely interwoven with the technocratic, expertise-based idea of development. These traits of the program make it possible to describe it as a post-ideological technocratic project which is best represented through the selection process of the Bridge Builders leadership program. The young ‘talents’ are invited from all ideological backgrounds, from left-wing activist to right-wing journalist. Thus, the program aims to overcome the classic division between left and right and integrate both into the ideal of a meritocratic, knowledge and talent based society that can be built by young leaders regardless of their ideological background. In my interpretation this is the model of a new technocracy, as it emphasizes the value of expertise over political ideology in changing the Hungarian society. In conclusion, through the analysis of the written materials of the Bridge Budapest Association and the interviews that I made with participants and founders of the programs, I aim to examine the Hungarian start-up scene’s production of discourses concerning the potentials of Hungarian society and capitalism. The activities of the Bridge Budapest Association have been evolved reflecting the Hungarian context. My claim is that through the aim of changing the local values, practices and figures of the Hungarian capitalism – as reflected by the ‘ethical business’ model – the programs also intend to situate this model as a base for a new meritocratic vision of society. Moreover, through associating social development with new entrepreneurial practices which are often related to start-ups, the program becomes a tool for providing moral surplus and thus legitimation for start-ups and more generally for the new entrepreneurial model they are representing. In this way we can 58

say that in addition to being a technocratic project centred on bringing about social change, by including entrepreneurship into its core the project attempts to create a new spirit of capitalism, that is, the sum of the ideologies justifying and legitimating this new entrepreneurial capitalism in the local context (Boltanski and Chiapello, 2007: 10).

Outsourcing

of

business

services

and

the

transformation of work The presentation is based on the first case study carried out in the framework of a dissertation research which aims to explore the establishment of two shared services centers (SSCs) in Central Europe by two multinational banks domiciled in Western Europe. The transfer of activities to a SSC is a form of “internal outsourcing” when the activity does not formally leave a company but is transferred to a SSC (typically located in another country) which stands as a specific support unit within the company’s organizational structure. The transfer usually concerns activities of administrative character like accounting, procurement, human resources activities, logistics, payroll, ICT or legal services. However, it is worth mentioning that nowadays it is increasingly frequent to move also quite sophisticated tasks under the SSC’s roof as promoted by consultancy companies. The presented case study is founded on twenty semi-structured interviews. Their duration was about one-hour and all were after permission recorded. I analysed the transcriptions. The set of twenty interviews composes of eight interviews with people based in the headquarters of a concerned company and twelve in the SSC. The interviewees worked on several hierarchical layers from team coordinators (in the SSC) to near-shoring managers (based in the HQ).

The research questions form a triad: 1. What motivates the relocation of an activity to a SSC? 2. What determines that an activity can be relocated to a SSC? 3. What determines the impact of the relocation on a labour process?

These questions are in the literature on outsourcing or on multinational corporations usually put separately. I argue that it is an error which leads to a distortion of findings and a failure to capture the core of the studied issue. More specifically, motives of the relocation are in the relevant literature typically disconnected from the impacts of the relocation. This logic causes 25

among others omission of a dynamics of the transfer embodied in the transformation of activities which are outsourced. This missing link is in my case represented mainly by the second research question. In the presentation I would like to demonstrate that to understand outsourcing, specifically in the sector of services, namely business services, it is necessary to focus on the changes concerning the work itself, in terms of its content, organization, monitoring and control and thus create a dynamic framework which enables to capture the potential organizational and work changes accompanying the transfer of jobs. The appropriate framework for this approach is the labour process theory (see Braverman (1974) 1998). In accordance with its theoretical basis (see Braverman (1974) 1998: 21-23; Marx 1976: ch. 7) I claim that we can interpret the main motive of the relocation of activities to the SSC as an effort of the bank’s management to increase the control of labour processes in operational departments.. The concept of shared services serves as a tool how to implement this transformation, first in the SSC and then in the HQ. The SSC remains within the organizational structure of the company which increases the confidence between both parties. The wage-gap (around 50 %) enables quite considerable investment during the transfer (mapping, codification and above all training and the development of technical solutions) while preserving profitability. These two aspects among ;others have the effect that the boundary between transferrable and non-transferrable activities is difficult to deduce from the nature of activities but it is necessary to take into account also the dynamics of the transfer, that means the possibilities (technological, organizational) how these activities could or could not be “made” transferrable. The transformation of transferred activities is thus not a side issue of the relocation but on the contrary stands in the center of the studied issue. The general result of mapping of a specific activity is that the activity is divided into specific tasks which are defined as narrowly as possible in order to better control the performance. Every such task has its expected time requirement in the form of portion of fulltime equivalent (FTE), e.g. 0,1 FTE (48 minutes per day, 4 hours per week) and key performance indicator which determines what should be achieved in this time span (e.g. number of processed invoices, payments, requests). This implies increased standardization, specialization, division of labour and intensity of work. In Marx’s terms we can say that the labour is made increasingly abstract (Marx 1976: ch. 1). Specific labour processes are not defined in terms of their content and/or as a part of responsibilities of specific employees but are represented by homogenous and universal 61

labour time. “It is no longer the worker who employs the means of production, but the means of production which employ the worker.” (Marx 1976: 425)

Reenactment and Authenticity: Cultural Biography of Uniform On an example of a German uniform in reenactment performance of the Second World War battles I would like to present how the reenactors create their perception of what is authentic in reenactment and how the perception changes based on the social context. To do so, I will describe the four phases - four different socio-cultural contexts of the social life [Appadurai 1986] of uniform: (1) manufacturing of a uniform, (2) obtaining a uniform, (3) uniform during the reenactment performance, and last but not least (4) storing and selling uniform. In each socio-cultural context there are different factors that influence how the reenactors perceive authenticity. I choose uniform because it is the most crucial item for reenactors. It helps them to achieve the authentic reenactment experience. An authentic reenactment experience means an experience that is obviously settled in the presence but it induces a strong feeling of an authentic belonging to the past.

Manufacture of a uniform Process of sewing uniform is very important and long. First it is needed to order fabrics. Woolen fabric is ordered from Germany, from a company called Gebrüder Mehler, Tuchfabrik, Tirschenreuth, a place that was an original supplier for the German army during the Second World War. When the craftsmen are making an order of the fabrics they make a request on the exact coloring and also the weight, the thickness and the type of weave. They own period color sample book with more than ten different shades of fabric colors used in the military textile industry. For each phase of the Second World War there are specific color shades and the craftsmen know it from the study of the period uniforms, old photos, and period military regulation and instruction books. For each part of the uniform (blouse, trousers or a cap, for example), there are different models that differ in the cut and various details (shape of pocket flaps etc.). The accuracy and proficiency of uniforms is a main goal in manufacturing. If the craftsman is successful then the uniform possesses the enchanting power that secures the production of the social consequences and social order: the technology 26

of enchantment is found on the enchantment of technology. I argue that the way the uniforms are manufactured has the same effect as what Alfred Gell describes as the technology of enchantment and the enchantment of technology [Gell 2006]. By the enchantment he means the expert art skills that are beyond the comprehension of socialized individuals but can only be recognized at the collective level of understanding and its dynamics. The enchantment of technology is the power that technical processes have of casting a spell over us so that we see the real world in an enchanted form" [Gell 2006:163]. The enchantment can be truly achieved by knowing that the process of becoming is a result of miraculously mastered manual skills performed by the craftsmen.

Obtaining uniforms Most of the reenactors purchase their equipment on the internet, web pages like Ebay, or Amazon or they let them be produced in a specialized factory in Brno. But how do they know what to buy? I would like to describe an example of Dominik who has been a reenactor for over five years. He bought his first uniform online. In his beginnings in reenactment he perceived the uniform as a ticket to a reenactment experience. He was not intrigued in the proficiency of the uniform but in personal experience of a battle. The meaning that Dominik was giving to the uniform is clearly different then in case of craftsmen. While the craftsmen are aware of all technological process they can recognize the material period accuracy, Dominik was not aware of many things at first. After five years in reenactment community Dominik was able to embody the knowledge about the technological process and now he is able to detect "bad" and "good" uniforms. He conducted his own research by studying old archives to learn and master his knowledge of battle strategies and tactics. His perception on authenticity shifts from a hunt for a personal experience to emphasizing a material period accuracy. In conclusion, a uniform as a commodity possesses certain expert knowledge that resides in the uniform itself. Knowledge is what makes authenticity possible. Knowledge of what is a period uniform and how it should look is mediated through authorities (e.g. craftsmen) and objects (such as old pictures or period instruction books). Knowledge is what determines what uniform the reenactor buys. Therefore, authenticity is a fluid social construct depending on a current social and material context.

Uniform during the reenactment performance In Gregory Hall´s paper [2015] two key perceptions on authenticity in reenactment are detected. Authenticity that emerges from objects (described in previous part) and authenticity 64

that emerges from interactions during the reenactment performance. The concept of interactional authenticity helps me understand how the authenticity is mediated within reenactment community. It is important to realize that the role of audience in this case is taken by reenactors themselves. Two important notes must be made here. The interactional authenticity operates on two levels: 1) personal immersion with the character through the period accurate material context and interaction, and 2) enchantment of the technology within an interaction among reenactors. While on the first level, reenactor is encouraged to act out different emotions, embody the movements of the soldiers and merge with the character and to achieve an authentic reenactment experience, on the second level we can see how enchantment of technology [Gell 2006] works in reenactment performance. Reenactors try to impress each other by mastering the equipment that they own. But what if the uniform and other equipment is not authentic during the performance? It may lose its enchanting effect on other reenactors and it will cause a conflict within the group. The accurate period interactions among reenactors and successful enchantment lead to achieve authentic reenactment experience.

Storing and selling uniform What happens with uniform if it is not used in performance or it is sold? Before the uniform is stored it must undergo cleaning and maintenance. The uniform is brushed by a scrubbing brush from all mud. It is put into a washing machine only occasionally. Boots are also brushed and greased by special grease suitable for leather. They treat it that way for two reasons: 1) the uniform must be clean since also the soldiers had to maintain their uniform clean, 2) it extends the life of the uniform and avoid the abrasion. If the abrasion achieves an unsustainable level, the uniform is sold. It is not that common but some reenactors tend to sell the uniform on Ebay or aukro pretending to be the original uniform from the Second World War. Uniform enters into commodity phase of its social life again and the value and authenticity is also put in question.

Conclusion In conclusion, I described different life phases of the social life of uniform in order to show how the social and cultural context and factors change and influence the perception of reenactors on what is authentic. During the manufacturing process it is the enchanting power that is embodied in the uniform. In the commodity phase of uniform it is the knowledge of reenactors that makes authenticity possible. During the performance phase the uniform plays 65

the crucial role in creating the period context for reenactors. In the last life phase of uniform that is connected to reenactment, the authenticity of uniform is negotiated and redefined since it enters the commodity phase again.
