The SS1 function means that the motor is safely stopped and then the torque-generating energy is shut down (STO).
Fastest possible, safe braking, e.g. for saws, winders, grinding machines, centrifuges, hoisting gear, extruders, stacker cranes
SS1 should be used wherever the load torque cannot stop the motor in a sufficiently short time as a result of friction - or where there is a safety risk if the drive coasts down.
High moments of inertia are specifically stopped to ensure the safety of the operator/system Fast stopping reduces equipping and retrofitting times

The SS2 function means that the motor is safely stopped followed by zero speed monitoring (SOS). The drive remains in closed-loop control, and can resist external forces with its maximum torque.
The drive is actively held at the actual position and withstands external forces, e.g. used for processing machines, machine tools It may be possible to eliminate a holding brake; if a brake is used, then the wear is significantly reduced.

The SLS function monitors that a parameterized maximum velocity is not exceeded. If the permitted velocity is exceeded, then the drive initiates a parameterizable stop response. Four limit value levels are available, which can be toggled between in operation. In operation, variable limit values can be entered via PROFIsafe.

SDI safety monitors that the drive only moves in the permitted direction. A parameterizable response is initiated if the drive moves in the incorrect direction. The higher-level motion controller still controls the setpoint. After the configured delay time has expired, this must ensure that the drive is moving in the correct direction of rotation.

Increases the productivity, as a protection area can be enabled for the operator as soon as the machine moves away from the operator, e.g. for stacker cranes, cranes, presses, prevents mechanical damage to the machine if the direction of rotation is incorrect, e.g. for milling machines

The SOS function provides safe standstill monitoring without shutting down the drive closed-loop control. The drive remains in closed-loop control, and can resist external forces with its maximum torque. The actual stop position of the axis is safely monitored. The higher-level motion controller still controls the setpoint. After the configured delay time has expired, this must ensure that the drive has come to a standstill.

Increases the cycle rates, as the axis reference is kept, and the drive holds its current position, e.g. for winders, converting machines The axis group can be stopped in a coordinated fashion to add material/remove material, e.g. packaging machines, robot applications Re-referencing is not required after changing a tool at a machine.

Safety functions in the drive Safely Limited Position (SLP) Function
With the SLP function, an axis can be safely monitored to ensure that it moves within a defined traversing range. It is possible to toggle between 2 traversing ranges in operation. The parameterized stop response is initiated if one of the traversing limits is violated.

Safety functions in the drive Safe Position (SP) Function
The SP function transfers the safe position actual values of the drive to the F control for further processing via PROFIsafe. When required, complex monitoring functions can be implemented here. A time stamp is also transferred together with the position value. This means that a velocity monitoring function can be implemented in the F control.

Certifikace safety-funkcí v pohonech SINAMICS
Pro každou uvolněnou verzi SINAMICS jsou integrované bezpečnostní funkce certifikovány zkušebním institutem (např. TÜV [German Technical Inspectorate], IFA). Pro přechodné období, od okamžiku kdy je uvolněn nový produkt SINAMICS do doby, kdy zkušební institut vydá odpovídající certifikát, je k dispozici prohlášení výrobce. Toto prohlášení potvrzuje, že bezpečnostní funkce jsou ve souladu s příslušnými normami. Pohony SINAMICS jsou certifikovány na PLd/SIL2. Za pomoci dodatečných opatření implementovaných při aplikaci, lze dosáhnout PLe/SIL3 pro funkce STO a SS1.

Licence pro safety funkce podmínky pro použití?
Pro všechny měniče SINAMICS platí, že základní funkce jsou standardně k dispozic a nevyžadují žádnou licenci. Pro měniče G120/G120D (kromě CU250S-2) pro rozšířené funkce je nutné použití F-verze řídicí jednotky. Pro všechny ostatní měniče SINAMICS je vyžadována licence pro rozšířené funkce. Licence je nutná pro každou osu nebo samostatný pohon. Licence se vztahuje na všechny rozšířené safety funkce dané osy nebo měniče. Pro SIMOTION D platí stejné pravidla pro integrované SINAMICS-osy. Navíc pro SIMOTION D jsou v závislosti na platformě nabízeny pakety pro více os. Pro SINAMICS S120, pokud jsou základní funkce ovládány přes TM54F, jsou v současnosti licence vyžadovány. Licence lze získat předkonfigurované CF-kartě. Certifikát - CoL (Certificate of License) je přiložen v dodávce. Alternativně lze jednotlivé licence získat a aplikovat na osy, pomocí internetové aplikace na: www.siemens.com/automation/license
