‘design better products’ I believe that products can be better. That discomfort can be relieved by creating products that are made to fit, design that helps people to do the things they want in a pleasant way. That products can be enjoyed and make people smile. It’s my goal to make this happen for the products I create.

mini pump Spaero for SKS 2011
For SKS-Germany, a range of mini pumps was designed, as part of a complete make over of the product portfolio. The SPAERO mini pump hides a small hose in it’s head. Easy to mount on the valve, and covered when not in use. Involvement: Concept design Detail design CAD modelling The SPAERO won an iF award 2012, GIO 2012, Taipei Cycle Award 2012

In the all-round range of mini pumps, the Injex is one of the most popular pumps. The pump is suitable for different types of valves, without the need of changing the pump inside mechanics. Involvement: Concept design Detail design CAD modelling

2011
The Rookie mini pump most likely is the most sold mini pump in the market. It’s fitted on bike carriers of most new bikes. For SKS a new design for the pump was made, with styling that fits the new brand image. Sharp lining, comcortable grip, recognizable looks. The fixation detail is integrated in the lining on the surface. Involvement: Concept design Detail design CAD Modelling

For the Chinese and Taiwanese market, a complete line of lightweight strollers and buggies was redesigned. Based on engineering models, all details were styled to create a coherent image. Nuna’s Pepp bigger brother fits a carry cot, car seat, two directional seat and bigger wheels. This wasn’t just a ‘scaling’ exercise. Many new parts, like the carry cot adapters and fittings, were designed from scratch. The full recline seat, too, is completeley new. Shown on the Kind und Jugend Fair in 2010. Involvement: Concept design Detail design your back at rest, and get rid of your waste. The bin opening is designed in such a way, that impact to the user is limited.

A concept study for a new stroller to fit the NUNA brand. The concept was designed, modelled and prototyped. In a final selection, the NUNA IVVI was preferred as a result of lower investments. Involvement: Concept design Detail design Prototyping

As an addition to the Nuna Buggy, a set of car seat adapters can be bought. The adapters have an easy to use system to connect them to the frame of the buggy, and can not come loose by accident. The shape of the adapters fits the original Buggy detailing and the ribs are designed in a special pattern, that combines strength and styling. A compact, trendy lifestyle buggy, designed to be taken with you. The folded package is designed to fit behind your car seat, and can be carried and unfolded with one hand. Nuna high chair

A High End children’s high chair for the brand Nuna. Style and quality were more important than the number of features. In the design, all parts closely fit together, subtile lining is used to distinghuish the product ftom all other chairs. The chair grows with the child, as it is suitable for childen aged 6 months - 12 years. Involvement: Concept design Detail design Prototyping Consumer testing

The company BERG Toys was looking for a new direction to develop their products, recognizing the popularity of stunting and skating among children. My graduation project was the develoment of such a specific vehicle. The company took this result to production and introduced the product in the summer of 2009. The BERG Toys Freestyler was nominated for the Dutch Design Awards 2009. Involvement: Concept design Detail design Prototyping Consumer testing

Personal During my weekends, days off and holidays, I most of all enjoy driving my 1969 Volkswagen van, of which I am the proud owner since five years. So far it took me to the south of France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark... It is hard to think of something more enjoyable than waking up at the beach, where you parked your car just the night before. At these trips I can combine my intersests in architecture, photography, history and lately surfing.

I try to maintain and enhance the van myself as much as possible. I made curtains, painted the bumbers and welded my own roofrack to take my surfboard. Also, I did manage to fix some electronics and engine problems. Despite this, I would not stop being a member of the Dutch Automobile Association. Since my son was born in October 2011, I worked on the van to make it ready for the summer holidays, now it includes a baby hammock above the front seats. I enjoy building things and working with my hands. The little guys room has been filled with old fashioned furniture, on which we worked to make it fit the modern needs.
