Několik slov o Nadačním fondu IMPULS —— IMPULS je jediným nadačním fondem v České republice, který již 13 let podporuje léčbu pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou mozkomíšní. —— Jako jediná nestátní nezisková organizace v EU je zřizovatelem celostátního registru pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou (ReMuS), jeho financování zajišťuje z vlastních nadačních zdrojů. —— Finančně podporuje zejména 15 specializovaných MS center pro diagnostiku a léčbu roztroušené sklerózy po celé ČR. —— Přispívá na projekty v oblasti fyzioterapie a psychoterapie, které nejsou hrazeny z veřejného zdravotního pojištění. —— Podporuje a medializuje sportovní a umělecké aktivity pacientů. —— Věnuje se podpoře vědy, vzdělávání, výzkumu a osvětové činnosti v oblasti roztroušené sklerózy. —— Je členem Asociace nadačních fondů při Fóru dárců a držitelem Známky kvality Fóra dárců. Ohlédnutí za rokem 2013 Každým rokem předkládáme veřejnosti výroční zprávu. Není podstatné, zda musíme, podstatné je, že chceme. Chceme, aby se veřejnost transparentně dozvěděla o třináctileté existenci našeho nadačního fondu, o všem, čím se snažíme ulehčit velké břímě, které bylo naloženo na bedra některým z nás. Třináct let je pro někoho obdobím dlouhým, pro někoho krátkým. Záleží na úhlu pohledu každého z nás. Z pohledu nadačního jsme ušli velký kus cesty. Dnes už s úsměvem vzpomínáme na první impulsí nesmělé krůčky, na radost z prvních darů, na nadšení z každé nové infuzní pumpy či polohovací postele, kterou jsme mohli koupit. Postupně přibývali dárci a partneři, a my jsme mohli uvádět do života projekty, které byly v začátcích pouhým snem. Projekty, kterými financujeme to, co by jinak vůbec nebylo. Třináctka je vnímána jako šťastné číslo. I pro IMPULS byl třináctý rok šťastným rokem, ve kterém si nadační fond našel svoje stálé společenské ukotvení a získal mnoho nových příznivců a podporovatelů. Jenom díky nim se podařilo historicky poskytnout nejvíce potřebného.
Roztroušená skleróza není o zapomínání. Je to diagnóza mnoha tváří a mnoha podob. Je nevyzpytatelná a nepředvídatelná, nelze se jí bránit. Jednoho dne přijde a zůstane s námi do konce života. Každý nemocný má svoji vlastní roztroušenou sklerózu, proto je tak těžké najít příčinu onemocnění a lék, který by ji dokázal vyléčit. Víme, že nelze dělat vše, přesto se snažíme život s touto nezvanou přítelkyní ulehčit našimi projekty. Ať již terapií, osvětou nebo výzkumem. Stejně tak jako si nemůžeme koupit štěstí, nemůžeme si koupit ani trvalou přízeň. Tu si můžeme pouze zasloužit tím, co a jak děláme. Stejně tak nelze najít dostatečný způsob jak poděkovat těm, bez jejichž podpory bychom se neobešli. Přijměte laskavě tuto výroční zprávu jako souhrn dosaženého, jehož rekapitulací děkujeme všem, kteří nám pomohli, pomáhají a pomáhat budou. Váš Nadační fond IMPULS

Statut a cíle Nadačního fondu IMPULS Nadační fond IMPULS byl založen dne 6. 4. 2000 jako první a do této doby také jediný subjekt zaměřený výhradně na problematiku roztroušené sklerózy mozkomíšní. Oblasti působení fondu jsou přesně vymezeny statutem a zakládací listinou. Jeho posláním je šíření osvěty o této málo známé nemoci, získávání finančních darů na úhradu léčebných a rehabilitačních projektů pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou, podpora vědecké a výzkumné práce týkající se nemoci. Práce Nadačního fondu IMPULS je založena na transparentním rozdělování získaných finančních prostředků na projekty, které pomohou co největšímu počtu příjemců – pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou. Toto onemocnění patří k nejnákladnějším neurologickým poruchám. Průměrné roční náklady na léčbu jednoho nemocného u nás přesahují 250 tisíc korun. Pojišťovny léčbu v plné výši nehradí, nefinancují plně ani nezbytnou rehabilitační péči. Práce nadačního fondu proto začíná tam, kde veřejné finance končí – v oblasti fyzioterapie, psychoterapie, osobní terapie. Nadační příspěvky směřují především do specializovaných zařízení a center pro léčbu roztroušené sklerózy. Za 13 let své existence se Nadační fond IMPULS stal důvěryhodným subjektem a garantem nezávislosti. O tom svědčí i fakt, že se v roce 2013 stal zřizovatelem prvního celostátního registru pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou v České republice.

Registr ReMuS, který již rok shromažďuje důležitá data o vývoji nemoci, nákladovosti a efektivnosti dlouhodobé léčby, se podařilo prosadit napříč státními i soukromými zdravotnickými organizacemi. Jedinečnost projektu spočívá v tom, že se správy, organizace i kompletního finančního zajištění registru ujala nestátní nezisková organizace. Ke konci roku 2013 se do registru zapojilo již téměř 3 tisíce pacientů, a ReMuS se tak stal jedním z nejpočetnějších registrů pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou vůbec. Česká republika měla v roce 2013 odhadem 17 tisíc lidí s roztroušenou sklerózou mozkomíšní. Přesný počet neznáme. Víme však, že nemocných raketově přibývá. Každým rokem si vyslechne nezvratnou diagnózu dalších tisíc pacientů. Převažují mezi nimi lidé v mladším a středním věku mezi 20 a 40 lety. Věková hranice v posledních letech klesá i mezi dospívající a děti. Mezi pacienty se znenadání ocitají lidé na počátku rodinného i kariérního života. Ze dne na den jsou vyřazeni z pracovního života a stávají se závislými na pomoci rodiny, posléze i státu. Je v zájmu společnosti poskytnout těmto pacientům včasnou a komplexní léčbu, udržet jejich práceschopnost a kvalitu života. O to usiluje i Nadační fond IMPULS. Stále je pro koho pracovat, komu pomáhat. Stále existují potřební, kvůli kterým stojí za to naplňovat základní cíle, které si IMPULS vytyčil.

Hmotná podpora a dobrovolnická činnost
Transparentnost, účelnost a efektivita. To jsou priority, kterými se Nadační fond IMPULS při nakládání s přijatými finančními dary řídí. Všem svým dárcům IMPULS může zaručit, že účelově vázané dary beze zbytku použije na daný projekt. Příspěvky bez přesného určení transparentním způsobem posoudí a poukáže na projekty, jež pomohou maximálnímu počtu pacientů. Dárci mohou přispívat fondu několika způsoby – pomocí své platební karty, elektronické peněženky PaySec, standardním bankovním převodem nebo dárcovskou SMS. Mohou zvolit jednorázový nebo pravidelný převod přímo z webových stránek www.nfimpuls.cz nebo využít projekt darujspravne.cz. Nadační fond pořádá během roku řadu dobročinných a sbírkových akcí. Zde mohou příznivci podporovat veřejně prospěšnou práci fondu prostřednictvím aukcí, nákupem výrobků či sbírkou do zapečetěných pokladniček.
Velmi cennou a vítanou pomocí pacientům s roztroušenou sklerózou jsou vedle finančních darů také dary hmotné povahy. Ať již se jedná o konkrétní rehabilitační pomůcky, sportovní vybavení, náčiní a cvičební doplňky pro fyzioterapii či jiné předměty po dohodě s příjemci. Nadační fond IMPULS je poukazuje účelově konkrétním příjemcům či projektům.

Důležitou podporou práce nadačního fondu je i osobní angažovanost. IMPULS spolupracuje s týmem dobrovolníků z řad jednotlivců i firem, kteří se podílejí na organizování akcí a přípravě projektů. Všem dárcům a podporovatelům patří za nezištné poskytnutí peněžní, hmotné či osobní pomoci velké poděkování.
Shrnutí činnosti Nadačního fondu IMPULS v roce 2013 Finančně podporovat komplexní léčbu a diagnostiku roztroušené sklerózy, její výzkum, vzdělání a osvětu, to byly hlavní cíle Nadačního fondu IMPULS v roce 2013. Veškerá práce a aktivity fondu proto probíhaly v kontextu těchto závazků.
Podpora komplexní léčby roztroušené sklerózy prostřednictvím specializovaných MS center Mluvíme-li o komplexní léčbě roztroušené sklerózy, máme na mysli dlouhodobý program různých metod a léčebných postupů směřujících k zastavení progrese onemocnění. V minulých letech bylo prvořadým úkolem Nadačního fondu IMPULS vytvořit tým odborníků – lékařů a specialistů, kteří jsou pacientům k dispozici na jednom odborném pracovišti. Takovým místem se stalo specializované Centrum pro demyelinizační poruchy Neurologické kliniky 1. LF UK a VFN v Praze na Karlově náměstí. Dnes funguje po celé republice patnáct center. V roce 2013 poskytl Nadační fond IMPULS odborným centrům pro léčbu roztroušené sklerózy finanční prostředky jak na úhradu odborného personálu, tak na přístrojové vybavení fyzioterapeutů. Jmenujme například nákup rehabilitačních pomůcek pro individuální fyzioterapii pánevního dna pro MS centrum
v Praze nebo pořízení rehabilitačních pomůcek do Domova sv. Josefa v Žirči u Dvora Králové, lůžkového zařízení se specializací na roztroušenou sklerózu. Cílem nadačního fondu do dalších let je zajistit kvalifikovanou fyzioterapeutickou, psychoterapeutickou péči, v případě potřeby i služby sociálního pracovníka pro všechna MS centra v celé republice. V roce 2013 fond přispěl na léčbu ve specializovaných centrech úhrnem 413 456 Kč.
Podpora rehabilitace Oddělit podporu MS center a rehabilitace nelze úplně, ale tímto rozdělením jsme chtěli i podtrhnout význam rehabilitace jako takový. Základem úspěchu terapie u pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou je nasazení správných rehabilitačních aktivit. Nadační fond IMPULS se snaží pomáhat pacientům s rehabilitací jak po psychické, tak po fyzické stránce, neboť roztroušená skleróza je onemocnění, u něhož jsou tyto dvě oblasti velmi úzce propojeny. Duševní a fyzická kondice významně ovlivňuje pozitivní účinek léčby.

Vzhledem k tomu, že úhrada rehabilitace leží z větší části na bedrech pacientů, věnuje Nadační fond IMPULS značnou část svých prostředků, aby pacientům ulehčil právě v této oblasti. Díky finančním příspěvkům Nadačního fondu IMPULS se podařilo v Centru pro demyelinizační onemocnění Neurologické kliniky 1. LF UK a VFN v Praze, kde se léčí přes 4 tisíce pacientů, nabídnout v Česku ojedinělé rehabilitační služby. V roce 2013 IMPULS vybavil centrum novými fyzioterapeutickými pomůckami a financoval rehabilitace pacientů pod vedením kvalifikovaných pracovníků. Od roku 2010 IMPULS financuje projekt Podpora psychoterapie u pacientů s RS, který je zaměřen na včasnou a dostupnou psychoterapeutickou péči. Hlavním cílem projektu je pomoci pacientům (i jejich blízkým) naučit se žít se svojí nemocí a snížit pokud možno na minimum negativní faktory, které s sebou může nemoc přinášet. Již třetím rokem běží díky příspěvkům Nadačního fondu IMPULS úspěšný projekt víkendových setkání „Potkalo se tělo s duší“. Pacienti se na nich učí aktivnímu přístupu k sobě samému, přijetí nemoci, uvědomění si psychosomatických souvztažností. Rozšiřují si znalosti o možnostech komplexní rehabilitace, která může zabránit vzniku bludného kruhu depresí, pasivity a sociální izolace. Garantem odbornosti celého projektu se stala fyzioterapeutka Mgr. Lucie Keclíková a psychoterapeutka Renáta Schubertová z MS centra v Praze vedeného prof. MUDr. Evou Havrdovou, CSc., světově uznávanou odbornicí na léčbu roztroušené sklerózy. IMPULS poskytuje maximální podporu také pacientům, kteří „bojují“ s onemocněním individuálními sportovními výkony, uměleckou prací či rukodělnými aktivitami a chtějí jimi motivovat i další pacienty. Nadační fond jim pomáhá s medializací jejich práce. V roce 2013 uspořádal aukci šperků pacientky Mgr. Lenky Matouškové a podpořil distribuci knihy se skutečnými příběhy pacientů Drobnomalby od psychoterapeutky Renáty Schubertové. Organizačně zastřešil také tým českých cyklistů z řad pacientů, lékařů a specialistů při jejich účasti na charitativní cyklistické akci Climbing Mont Ventoux v jižní Francii. Fond se pravidelně účastní výstavy uměleckých prací pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou Cesta za duhou.

Na projekty rehabilitační péče putovalo v roce 2013 z nadačních peněz 1 136 797 Kč.
Podpora vědy a výzkumu Roztroušená skleróza patří mezi agresivní autoimunitní onemocnění, která na svůj lék stále čekají. Jedinou účinnou léčbu nabízí chronická protizánětlivá terapie, která je u řady pacientů schopna uchránit nervový systém a tím dramaticky ovlivnit jejich další prognózu. Nadační fond IMPULS cíleně podporuje vědecké a výzkumné projekty, které se snaží přispět vývoji nových léků a k lepší budoucnosti pacientů. V roce 2013 se podařilo například z prostředků nadačního fondu realizovat nákup hlubokomrazicího boxu pro výzkumné účely 1. LF Univerzity Karlovy v Praze. Na tyto projekty v roce 2013 věnoval 1 935 890 Kč.
Projekt ReMuS Stěžejním projektem v oblasti výzkumu je celostátní pacientský registr ReMuS. Odstartoval v lednu 2013 po deseti letech diskuzí a více než roce intenzivních příprav. První celorepublikový registr pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou u nás shromažďuje data o vývoji nemoci, účincích konkrétních léků a bezpečnosti dlouhodobé léčby. Jeho zřizovatelem a provozovatelem se stal Nadační fond IMPULS ve spolupráci se Sekcí neuroimunologie a likvorologie České neurologické společnosti ČLS JEP. Jedná se o naprosto ojedinělou situaci v rámci EU, kdy je celostátní registr financován nestátní neziskovou organizací pouze z nadačních prostředků. Cílem registru je zmapovat skutečnou situaci v ČR – počet pacientů, závažnost postižení, počet nově diagnostikovaných, práceschopnost, typ medikace, apod. Data z registru pomohou vyhodnotit nákladovost léčby a přispějí k lepšímu plánování finančního krytí nákladné terapie. Významně se uplatní jak při výzkumu roztroušené sklerózy a vývoji nových léků na národní úrovni, tak zapojením do mezinárodních databází.
Export dat probíhá dvakrát ročně. Zprávy se souhrnnými výsledky, tabulkami a grafy jsou publikovány na webových stránkách Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Po roce fungování sledoval registr ke konci roku 2013 již 2 920 pacientů léčených pomocí dlouhodobé biologické léčby, a to ze 7 specializovaných MS center. V následujícím roce se ReMuS zaměří na zapojení všech 15 MS center, aby poskytl kompletní informace k moderní dlouhodobé biologické léčbě u nás. V plánech pro nejbližší období je i propojení registru s evropskými a mezinárodními databázemi.
Osvětová a vzdělávací činnost
ediálních kampaní dodává pacientům odvahu, odhodlání bom jovat a snad i optimismus ve zdánlivě bezvýchodných situacích. Nadační fond IMPULS je organizace, která je tu pro pacienty a nasměruje je tam, kde je jim podána pomocná ruka. Další výraznou aktivitou na poli osvěty v roce 2013 byla realizace kalendáře „Klapzubova jedenáctka“. Ve spolupráci s Českou asociací fotbalových hráčů, o. s. se v něm podařilo zhmotnit myšlenku o statečnosti, soudržnosti, vůli a poctivosti cvičení, které jsou důležité jak pro fotbalový tým, tak i pro život s nevyléčitelnou nemocí. Originální fotografie předních českých fotbalistů vytvořil pro IMPULS renomovaný fotograf Robert Vano.
Roztroušená skleróza patří mezi nejčastější neurologická onemocnění. Pro úspěšnou terapii je zcela zásadní její včasná diagnostika. Bohužel, roztroušená skleróza je jednou z chorob, o kterých se na veřejnosti příliš nemluví. Jen několik odvážných, mediálně známých osobností, se nebojí o své zkušenosti otevřeně hovořit, aniž by se museli obávat diskvalifikace ve svém pracovním životě. Podpory takových osobností si opravdu ceníme.
Nadační fond IMPULS podporuje a bude podporovat také odborníky, lékaře a terapeuty v jejich dalším vzdělávání. Pořádá odborné konference a semináře, financuje odborné kurzy. Významnou odbornou akcí, kterou IMPULS v roce 2013 organizoval, byl prestižní neurologický kongres 16. Jedličkovy neuroimunologické a likvorologické dny. Pozornost věnuje ale i osvětě mladých lidí a motivaci mládeže ke společenské odpovědnosti. Příkladem takové akce bylo vystoupení na Anglickém gymnáziu v Praze.
Osvěta mezi veřejností je jedním z hlavních poslání Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Díky spolupráci s řadou lékařských kapacit v oboru neurologie, se snaží IMPULS o nemoci, jejích příznacích, průběhu a léčbě pravidelně informovat. V rámci svých

Přehled veřejně prospěšných aktivit fondu v roce 2013
Veškeré veřejně prospěšné aktivity Nadační fond IMPULS organizuje s prvořadým zřetelem – získat podporu a pomoc pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou. V roce 2013 se IMPULS snažil získat podporu pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou například benefičními koncerty pro IMPULS, dobročinnými aukcemi, 24hodinovým maratonem pro roztroušenou sklerózu MaRS a řadou dalších sbírkových či osvětových akcí. Spolupracoval také na dobročinných aktivitách jiných neziskových organizací u nás i v Evropě (Unie Roska, Občanské sdružení SMS, Klimmen Tegen MS – nizozemská organizace atd.) Dále uvádíme chronologický přehled těch nejdůležitějších.
MaRS 2013 2. ročník maratonu pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou Praha 6, 1. – 2. 3. 2013 Upozornit na potřebu fyzické aktivity jako nedílné součásti léčby roztroušené sklerózy bylo smyslem již druhého ročníku vytrvalostního sportovního fitness maratonu MaRS, pořádaného Nadačním fondem IMPULS z iniciativy pacientů. Týmy složené z pacientů, lékařů, zdravotní sester, fyzioterapeutů, rodinných příslušníků, přátel i umělců se celý den střídaly v kontinuálním cvičení na cvičebních přístrojích v prostorách fitness klubu Hadovka Health & Fitness. Podpořit dobročinnou a osvětovou akci přišlo na dvě stovky pacientů a příznivců, mezi nimi i známé osobnosti jako Tereza Brodská, Jan Čenský, Otakar Brousek ml. či Ivan Hašek. V průběhu maratonu pokřtil prof. MUDr. Cyril Höschl, DrSc. knihu „Drobnomalby“ od Renáty Schubertové – psychoterapeutky MS centra v Praze 2. O hudební doprovod se postarala známá jazzová zpěvačka Hana Robinson a její Trio. Výtěžek v hodnotě 13 066 Kč putoval na nákup fyzioterapeutických pomůcek pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou.

Dražba umělecké faksimile Vyšehradského kodexu 8. – 15. 3. 2013 Nakladatelství a vydavatelství Tempus Libri spol. s r. o. se specializuje na výrobu přesných napodobenin vzácných rukopisů, historicky a kulturně výjimečných a hodnotných děl. Jednou z takových památek je i exkluzivní umělecká faksimile Vyšehradského kodexu krále Vratislava z 11. století, vůbec nejcennějšího latinského rukopisu u nás. Z limitované edice 199 číslovaných exemplářů obdržel Nadační fond IMPULS darem jeden výtisk. IMPULS jej ve spolupráci s internetovým portálem Aukro a za mediální podpory Rádia Impuls vložil do aukce, v níž byl vydražen za 155 100 Kč. Výtěžek byl zčásti věnován pacientce s RS a výherkyni soutěže Rádia Impuls „Pošli to dál“, zčásti putoval na úhradu fyzioterapeutických cvičení pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou.
Benefiční koncert pro IMPULS Kostel sv. Anny, Praha 1, 15. 4. 2013 Již poosmé pozval Nadační fond IMPULS své dárce, partnery a spolupracovníky na benefiční koncert renomovaného multižánrového kvarteta Clarinet Factory. Vystoupení podpořil jako host jazzový mág Alan Vitouš a hudebník Jarda Svoboda. Zatímco výtěžky z minulých let putovaly na podporu fyzioterapie, získaná částka v roce 2013 ve výši 272 210 Kč byla poukázána ve prospěch pacientského registru ReMuS. V rámci koncertu byl rovněž společností UNIMEX GROUP, a.s. předán nadačnímu fondu šek v hodnotě 200 000 Kč. O netradiční vsuvku koncertu se postaral skladatel, hudebník a malíř Milan Cais, který zde představil svůj obraz „Dvě místa – dva světy“, jenž v rámci křtu nového CD Clarinet Factory namaloval přímo na pódiu. Tento obraz byl o měsíc později vydražen v aukci ve prospěch Nadačního fondu IMPULS za 4 450 Kč. Získané prostředky byly věnovány na stejný účel.
Potkalo se tělo s duší Rekreační areál u Jetřichovic 12. – 14. 4., 24. – 26. 5., 11. – 13. 10. 2013 Projekt víkendových setkání odborníků a pacientů vznikl v roce 2010 za podpory Nadačního fondu IMPULS. Úspěšně běží již třetím rokem pod vedením psychoterapeutů a fyzioterapeutů MS centra v Praze 2 a externích lékařů. Je určen pacientům s roztroušenou sklerózou. V rámci seminářů se pacienti učí vy-

rovnat se s diagnózou pomocí aktivního přístupu k životu. Hledají souvislosti mezi psychikou a fyzickým stavem, duší a tělem, a seznamují se s různými fyzioterapeutickými a psychoterapeutickými praktikami.
16. Jedličkovy neuroimunologické a likvorologické dny Děkanát 1. LF UK, Praha 2, 31. 5. – 1. 6. 2013 Sekce klinické neuroimunologie a likvorologie České neurologické společnosti ČLS JEP a Nadační fond IMPULS ve spolupráci s Nadačním fondem pro neurovědy a Czech production, s.r.o. se staly opět po dvou letech organizátory celostátního vědeckého sympózia s názvem 16. Jedličkovy neuroimunologické a likvorologické dny. Prestižní akce svým odborným programem, rozsahem a účastí zahraničních vědeckých kapacit tradičně vzbuzuje mimořádný zájem lékařů a vědeckých pracovníků z České a Slovenské republiky. Hlavními tématy sympozia byla paraneoplastická onemocnění, komplexní hodnocení aktivity roztroušené sklerózy (MR, OCT, psycholog etc.), invalidita u RS, pracovní schopnost a progresivní multifokální leukoencefalopatie. Ze zahraničních hostů na sympoziu vystoupily vědecké kapacity prof. Nancy Richert (USA) a prof. Angela Vincent (Oxford, GB).
Climbing Mont Ventoux Charitativní cyklistická akce Provensálské Alpy, Francie, 20. 5. 2013 Tradici sportovních výstupů na mytickou horu Mont Ventoux v jižní Francii, spojenou se získáváním prostředků na výzkum a léčbu roztroušené sklerózy, založila v roce 2011 skupina nadšenců z nizozemské organizace Klimmen Tegen MS. V následujícím roce se podařilo akci úspěšně medializovat a přilákat zájem firem, takže z původních 16 účastníků se jich v květnu 2013 sešlo na startu 390. K akci se připojil i Nadační fond IMPULS, který pomohl vypravit sedmnáctičlennou českou posádku cyklistů z řad pacientů a lékařů. Za každého účastníka, který zdolal výšlap na vrcholek proslulé „Větrné hory“ a dosáhl cíle, byl na konto nizozemské nadace připsán příspěvek 500 EUR. Na léčbu a výzkum roztroušené sklerózy se nizozemskému národnímu MS fondu podařilo získat úctyhodných 473 082 EUR.

Hana Robinson pro IMPULS a křest kalendáře Klapzubova jedenáctka Divadlo ABC, Praha 1, 15. 9. 2013 Jazzové tóny v podání zpívající klavíristky Hany Robinson a jejích hostů rozezněly sál divadla ABC při benefičním koncertu Nadačního fondu IMPULS pořádaném ve prospěch pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou. Zpěvačka, která aktivně spolupracuje s Nadačním fondem IMPULS několik let, vystoupila se skladbami ze své první sólové autorské desky „Brouk v hlavě“. Během večera byl pokřtěn kalendář s tématem Klapzubovy jedenáctky, jehož autorem je renomovaný fotograf Robert Vano. Tematika Klapzubovy jedenáctky nebyla pro kalendář 2014 zvolena náhodně. Bassův příběh o vůli a cvičení, které vede člověka k vytouženému cíli, je pro pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou velkou motivací. Souboj s nevyléčitelnou nemocí vyžaduje totéž nasazení jako fotbalový zápas – vůli, statečnost a poctivý trénink.
Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend 2013 Praha 1, 18. – 22. 9. 2013 Již počtvrté se pražské ulice na několik dní proměnily ve velké přehlídkové molo. Praha se stala dějištěm významné módní události pořádané po vzoru světových fashion weeků. Na podzimní Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend 2013 se v premiéře představila řada módních návrhářů a designérů z Čech i Slovenska se svými aktuálními kolekcemi. Na prestižní akci prezentoval svoji práci i Nadační fond IMPULS. V době, kdy pražské centrum žilo módou a designem, bylo možné zakoupit za 350 Kč módní nákupní kabelu, tzv. Fashion bag. Z každého prodaného kusu pak organizátoři věnovali Nadačnímu fondu IMPULS 100 Kč. Celková částka ve prospěch Nadačního fondu IMPULS a projektu ReMuS představovala 47 600 Kč.
Vernisáž výstavy Cesta za duhou Praha 1, 1. – 31. 10. 2013 Již po jedenácté se stal Nadační fond IMPULS partnerem projektu Cesta za Duhou. Cílem je představit díla autorů s roztroušenou sklerózou, jejich pohled na svět kolem sebe, na svou nemoc. Právě různé formy uměleckého vyjádření tvoří součást terapie pacientů, pomáhají jim vyrovnat se s diagnózou a překonat její příznaky. Vernisáž kreseb, maleb, fotografií, šperků, prací z textilu či keramiky proběhla v prostorách Nadace pro rozvoj architektury a stavitelství na Václavském náměstí za účasti řady autorů, příznivců a podporovatelů.

Benefiční večer s dražbou šperků
Clarion Congress Hotel Prague Praha 9, 23. 10. 2013
Zviditelnit práci lidí s roztroušenou sklerózou a podpořit je v jejich aktivitách bylo záměrem předvánočního benefičního večera s dražbou šperků. IMPULS jej pořádal v prostorách Velkého sálu Novoměstské radnice za laskavé podpory městské části Praha 2, která také převzala nad celou akcí záštitu. Za účasti starostky Prahy 2 Mgr. Jany Černochové byl během večera nadačnímu fondu slavnostně předán výtěžek z projektu Fashion bag od společnosti Mercedez-Benz v hodnotě 47 600 Kč a finanční šek od společnosti ALBI Česká republika, a.s. v hodnotě 10 000 Kč. Dary a zisk z aukce putovaly na podporu projektu celostátního registru pacientů ReMuS.
Výsledky prvního výstupu z celostátního registru pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou ReMuS prezentoval Nadační fond IMPULS na pracovní snídani spojené s tiskovou konferencí za laskavé podpory Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. Výstup se týkal dat za období od 1. 1. 2013 do 30. 6. 2013, kdy bylo do projektu zapojeno 1 501 pacientů ze tří specializovaných MS center – VFN Prahy, Teplic a Jihlavy. Již první údaje z registru potvrdily statistiky známé z jiných zemí. I u nás dvě třetiny pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou tvoří ženy, největší počet pacientů je mezi 20. až 40. rokem. Více než polovina pacientů, léčených nákladnými biologickými preparáty, zůstává práceschopných.

Prezentace Nadačního fondu IMPULS Anglické gymnázium Praha 9, 12. 11. 2013 Zvyšovat sociální povědomí a debatovat o různých sociálních, polických, uměleckých a vědeckých tématech. To je smyslem tradičních setkání Lectures & Talks, které pro studenty a učitele pořádá Anglické gymnázium v Praze na Sokolovské ulici. Tématem listopadového setkání byla problematika roztroušené sklerózy alias „nemoc mladých“. Zástupci fondu se snažili nastínit studentům úskalí života s „ereskou“, představit práci fondu a ukázat, jak mohou pacientům pomoci. Cílem bylo osvětlit četná tabu o nemoci a přimět mladé lidi k zamyšlení nad vlastní společenskou zodpovědností. Do svého života s roztroušenou sklerózou daly na inspirativním setkání nahlédnout i novinářka Hana Rausová a zpěvačka Hana Robinson. Jejich vyprávění naslouchalo více než 200 studentů.

Vánoční trhy Praha, 2. – 11. 12. 2013 Vánoční věnce, keramiku, svícny, obrázky a další vánoční dekorace vyrobené pacienty s roztroušenou sklerózou si mohli pořídit návštěvníci tradičních pražských vánočních trhů. IMPULS touto formou nejen podpořil činnost pacientů, ale zároveň prezentoval výsledky své celoroční práce. Kromě vánočního zboží zde bylo možné zakoupit i kalendář Roberta Vana Klapzubova jedenáctka či knihu skutečných příběhů pacientů s RS Drobnomalby. Výtěžek předvánoční sbírky ve výši 50 431 Kč směřoval ve prospěch projektu ReMuS.

Účetnictví Nadačního fondu IMPULS je vedeno a účetní uzávěrka byla připravena v souladu se zákonem č. 563/1991 Sb. o účetnictví ve znění pozdějších změn a doplňků a s ním spojených prováděcích opatření. Účetnictví je vedeno externě. Přiznání k dani byla a budou podána v souladu s právním řádem ČR.

A few words about the Endowment Fund IMPULS —— In the Czech Republic, IMPULS is the only endowment fund that supports the treatment of patients with cerebrospinal multiple sclerosis, already 13 years. —— As the only non-profit organization in the EU, the Endowment Fund IMPULS founded statewide Register of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis (ReMuS) and finances it from its own endowment sources. —— In particular, it financially supports 15 specialized MS centres for diagnostics and treatment of multiple sclerosis in the Czech Republic. —— It contributes to the projects in the area of physiotherapy and psychotherapy that are not covered by public health insurance. —— It supports and promotes sports and artistic activities of patients. —— It is engaged in supporting science, education, research and raising of public awareness concerning multiple sclerosis. —— It is member of the Association of Endowment Funds Donor Forum and it is also holder of the Mark of Quality of the Donors Forum. Looking back at the year 2013 We present our Annual Report to the public every year. It is not important whether we have to do that. Important is that we want to. We want the public to be acquainted about the 13 years of existence of our Endowment Fund in a transparent way. So people can learn what we do to alleviate the big burden some of us have to bear. For someone thirteen years is a long period of time. For others it is short. It depends on the point of view. From the point of view of the Endowment Fund, we have made a long journey. Today, we smile when we look back on the first timid steps of IMPULS, on our joy for the first donations, on our excitement for every new infusion pump or tilt bed which we were able to purchase. Gradually, the number of donors and partners increased and we could introduce project that were just a mere dream in the beginning – projects that help us to finance what otherwise could not even exist. “Thirteen” is perceived as a lucky number. Also for IMPULS, the thirteenth year has been a lucky year. The Endowment Fund found its constant social embedding and gained many new fans and supporters. Only thanks to them it was possible to provide historically the most necessary equipment.
Multiple sclerosis is not about forgetting. It is a diagnosis with many faces and forms. It is inscrutable, unpredictable and it is impossible to defend yourself against it. Once it has come it will remain with us until the end. Every patient has his own multiple sclerosis. Therefore it is difficult to find the cause of the disease and a medicine that could cure it. We know that it is impossible to do everything. Nevertheless, with our projects we try to make life with this unwelcome friend easier whether through therapy, raising of public awareness or research. Just like we cannot buy happiness, we also cannot buy a permanent favor. We can only deserve it through our work and the way we work. Similarly it is impossible to thank sufficiently all the people who helped us. Please, accept this Annual Report as a summary of achievments and in this way we thank to all who were helping us, who are still helping and who will be helping in the future. Statute and Goals of the Endowment Fund IMPULS Endowment Fund IMPULS was founded on April 6, 2000, as the first and until then the only subject specialized in the issue of cerebrospinal multiple sclerosis. Areas of action of the Endowment Fund IMPULS are strictly defined by its Statute and Foundation Charter. Its mission is to raise public awareness about this disease that was little known by the public; gaining of financial donations for treatment, and rehabilitation projects for patients with multiple sclerosis; support of research and science related to the disease. Activity of the Endowment Fund IMPULS is based upon a transparent distribution of gained financial means for projects in order to meet the needs of the largest number possible of beneficiaries – patients with multiple sclerosis. This disease belongs to the most expensive neurological disorders. In our country average annual cost for the treatment of one patient goes beyond CZK 250,000. Insurance companies do not cover the treatment to full extent. Neither do they finance fully the essential rehabilitation. Therefore, the work of the Endowment Fund begins where public financing stops – in the area of physiotherapy, psychotherapy, personal therapy. Endowment contributions are directed especially to the specialized units and centres for treatment of multiple sclerosis. During the 13 years of its existence, the Endowment Fund IMPULS became a trustworthy subject and a guarantee of independence. Evidence for that is also that in 2013, it established the first statewide Register of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

(ReMuS) in the Czech Republic. The Register ReMuS that has been collecting important data about the development of the disease, cost and effectivity of long-term treatment for already one year managed to break into state and private health organizations. The uniqueness of the Project consists in the fact that a non-governmental, non-profit organization took charge of the administration, organization and also of the complete financial collateral of the register. By the end of 2013, almost 3,000 patients joined the Register. ReMuS became so one of the most numerous registers of patients with multiple sclerosis at all. In 2013, there were approximately 17,000 patients with cerebrospinal multiple sclerosis in the Czech Republic. We do not know the exact number. We know, however, that the number of people with multiple sclerosis increases exponentially. Every year, another thousand of patients hears the irreversible diagnosis. Most of them are younger and middle age people between 20 and 40 years. In the recent years, the age limit decreases to teenagers and children. People at the beginning of family life and carrier life suddenly appear among the pacients. From day to day, they are excluded from occupational life and become dependent on assistance of their families, and eventually of the state. It is in the interest of the society to provide to these patients an early and complete care, to maintain their ability to work and quality of life. Endowment Fund IMPULS also strives after that. There is always somebody to work for. There are always people in need, because of whom it is worthy to fulfill the aims that IMPULS have set for itself.

Material Support and Volunteer Activity
Transparency, usefulness, and effectivity. These are the priorities of the Endowment Fund IMPULS when dealing with financial contributions received. IMPULS can guarantee to its donors that donations for a stated purpose will be fully used for that project. Contributions without an exactly stated purpose will be transparently assessed and transferred to a project, in order to help the most patients possible. The donors can contribute to the Fund in several ways – using their credit card, electronic wallet PaySec, bank transfer or donor SMS. They can choose a lump-sum transfer or standing transfer directly from the website www.nfimpuls.cz, or they can use the project d arujspravne.cz. The Endowment Fund organizes many beneficent events and collections all year long. So the supporters can support community service of the Fund through auctions, purchase of products, or collections in sealed money boxes.
Besides financial gifts, material gifts are also precious and welcomed help for the patients with multiple sclerosis. Be it concrete rehabilitation tools, sport equipment, requisites, and exercise complements for physiotherapy, or other items after agreement with recipients. Endowment Fund IMPULS remits it directly to concrete recipients or projects.

An important support of the work of the Endowment Fund is personal involvement. IMPULS collaborates with a team of volunteers consisting of both individuals and firms who participate in organization of events and preparation of projects. A big thank you belongs to all donors and supporters for their selfless provision of financial, material or personal help.
Summary of Activities of the Endowment Fund in 2013 In 2013, the main goals of the Endowment Fund IMPULS were financial support of complete treatment and diagnostics of multiple sclerosis, research, education, and public awareness. All the work and activities of the Endowment Fund, therefore, respected these commitments.
Support of Complex Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis through Specialized MS Centers Speaking of complex treatment of multiple sclerosis, we think of a long-term program consisting in various methods and therapeutic procedures directed at halting the progression of the disease. In the previous years, the main task of the Endowment Fund IMPULS was the creation of a team of experts – specialists and doctors, available for patients in one specialized department. The specialized Center for Demyelinating Diseases of the Department of Neurology 1st Faculty of Medcine and General University Hospital in Prague in Karlovo náměstí, Prague, became such a place. Today, there are fifteen centers throughout the Republic. In 2013, the Endowment Fund IMPULS provided specialized centers for treatment of multiple sclerosis with funds, to cover
both professional staff and equipment for physiotherapists. We can just mention the acquisition of rehabilitation tools for individual pelvic floor physiotherapy for MS Center in Prague, or rehabilitation tools for the Home St. Joseph Žireč by Dvůr Králové, inpatient facility specializing in multiple sclerosis. In the coming years, the aim of the Endowment Fund is to ensure qualified physiotherapeutic, psychotherapeutic care, and, if necessary, services of a social worker for all MS centers across the country. In 2013, the fund contributed to the treatment in specialized centers CZK 413,456, in total.
Support of Rehabilitation It is not possible to separate completely the support of MS Centers and rehabilitation. However, in doing so, we wanted to emphasise the importance of rehabilitation itself. The basis for success of therapy in patients with multiple sclerosis is a correct deployment of rehabilitation activities. The Endowment Fund IMPULS is trying to help patients with both, mental and

physical rehabilitation, because multiple sclerosis is a disease in which these two areas are linked very closely. Mental and physical condition significantly affects the positive effect of the treatment. Given that the burden for payment for rehabilitation lies mainly upon the shoulders of patients, the Endowment Fund IMPULS contributes great part of its resources to ease the patients in this specific area. Thanks to financial contributions of the Endowment Fund IMPULS, the Center for Demyelinating Diseases of the Department of Neurology 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, where over 4000 patients are treated, can offer unique rehabilitation services in the Czech Republic. In 2013, IMPULS equipped the Center with new physiotherapeutic tools and financed the rehabilitation of patients under the supervision of qualified personnel. Since 2010, IMPULS has been funding in patients with MS the project Support Psychotherapy, which is focused on timely and accessible psychotherapeutic care. The main objective of the project is to help patients (and their relatives) to learn how to live with their disease and reduce the accompanying negative factors of the disease to a minimum. Thanks to the contributions of the Endowment Fund IMPULS, the successful project of weekend meetings “Body Meets the Soul”, has been running already for three years. There, the patients can learn how to take an active approach to oneself, how to cope with the illness and realize the psychosomatic correspondences. They acquire knowledge about comprehensive rehabilitation which may prevent a vicious circle of depression, passivity and social isolation. Physiotherapist Mgr. Lucie Keclíková and psychotherapist Renáta Schubertová from MS center in Prague, led by the world-renowned expert in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, prof. MUDr. Eva Havrdová, CSc., became guarantors of expertise of the project. IMPULS provides maximum support to patients who are “struggling” with the disease by practising individual sport activities, art work and handicraft activities and want to motivate other patients. Endowment Fund helps them with publicizing their

work. In 2013, it organized an auction of jewelry of Mgr. Lenka Matoušková, a MS patient, and supported the distribution of books with real stories of patients, called “Miniatures”, from the psychotherapist Renáta Schubertová. The Fund covered organizationally a team of Czech cyclists among patients, doctors and specialists who participated in a charity cycling event Climbing Mont Ventoux in southern France. The Fund participates regularly in exhibition of artworks of patients with multiple sclerosis “Journey to the Rainbow”. In 2013, CZK 1,136,797 from endowment resources were directed to rehabilitation projects.
Support for Science and Research Multiple sclerosis is an aggressive autoimmune disease that is still waiting for a medicine. The only effective treatment is a chronic inflammatory therapy, which is able to protect the nervous system in a number of patients and, thereby, dramatically affect their further prognosis. Endowment Fund IMPULS supports purposefully science and research projects that seek to contribute to the development of new drugs and better future of patients. In 2013, for example, was purchased ULT Freezer for research purposes of the 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University in Prague, from the endowment means. In 2013, the Fund dedicated CZK 1,935,890 for these projects.
The Project ReMuS A key project in the field of research is the nationwide patient register, ReMuS. It started in January 2013, after ten years of discussions, and more than a year of intensive preparations. The first nationwide register of patients with multiple sclerosis in our country, collects data on the development of the disease, on the effects of specific drugs and safety of long-term treatment. Its founder and operator is the Endowment Fund IMPULS, in cooperation with the Section for Neuroimmunology and Liquorology of the Czech Medical Association, (ČLS JEP).

The aim of the register is to monitor the actual situation in the Czech Republic – the number of patients, seriousness of disability, the number of newly diagnosed, employability, type of medication, etc. Data from the register will help to evaluate the expensiveness of treatment and contribute to better planning of financial backing of costly therapy. It will significantly apply for both multiple sclerosis research and development of new drugs at national level and involvement in international databases.
Raising of public awareness is one of the main missions of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. Thanks to cooperation with a number of medical experts in the field of neurology, IMPULS is regularly trying to provide information about the disease, its symptoms, course and treatment. Through its media campaign, it encourages patients, and supports their determination to fight and perhaps gives them even optimism in seemingly hopeless situations. The Endowment Fund IMPULS is an organization that is there for patients and directs them where they are given a helping hand.
Export of data takes place twice a year. Reports with summary results, tables and charts are published on the website of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. At the end of 2013, after a year of operation, the register already followed 2920 patients treated with long-term biologic therapies, from 7 specialized MS centers. The following year, ReMuS will focus on the involvement of all 15 MS centers to provide complete information to the modern long-term biological treatment in our country. For the near future, it is planned to connect the register with European and international databases.
Raising of Public Awareness, and Educational Activity Multiple sclerosis is among the most frequent neurological diseases. For a successful therapy, its early diagnosis is crucial. Unfortunately, multiple sclerosis is one of the diseases which are not discussed in public very often. Only a few brave, mediaknown celebrities are not afraid to speak openly about their
Another important activity in the field of education in 2013, was the realization of the calendar “Klapzuba's Eleven”. In cooperation with the Czech Association of Football Players, it managed to materialize the idea of bravery, cohesion, honesty and honest exercising that are important for the football team, as well as for a life with an incurable disease. Renowned photographer, Robert Vano, created for IMPULS original photographs of leading Czech footballers. Endowment Fund IMPULS supports and will support experts, doctors and therapists in their further education. It organizes conferences and seminars, funds vocational courses. A major event, organized by IMPULS in 2013, was the prestigious Neurological Congress of the 16th Jedlička Neuroimmunological and Liquorological Days. IMPULS also pays attention to raising of public awareness among young people and motivates youth for social responsibility. An example of such an event was the presentation in English Secondary School in Prague. In 2013, the Endowment Fund IMPULS dedicated CZK 200,000 for raising of public awareness.

Overview of Community Service Activities of the Endowment Fund in 2013
All community activities of the Endowment Fund IMPULS are organized with the primary emphasis – to get support and help for patients with multiple sclerosis. In 2013, for example, IMPULS tried to gain support for patients with multiple sclerosis, through benefit concerts for IMPULS, charitable auctions, a 24-hour marathon for multiple sclerosis MaRS and many other activities, such as collections and educational events. It also collaborated on benefit activities of other non-profit organizations both in our country and in Europe (Union Roska, Citizens Association SMS, Klimmen Tegen MS – Dutch Organization, etc.). Subsequently, we introduce a chronological overview of the most important of them.
MaRS 2013 2nd Year of Marathon of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis Prague 6, March 1–2, 2013 Highlighting of the need for physical activity as an integral part of the treatment of multiple sclerosis was the purpose of the second year of endurance, sports, and fitness Marathon MaRS, organized by the Endowment Fund IMPULS from the initiative of the patients. Teams composed of patients, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, family members, friends and artists alternated in continuous exercises with different exercise equipment at the premises of the fitness club Hadovka Health & Fitness. About two hundred pacients and supporters, including celebrities, such as Tereza Brodská, Jan Čenský, Otakar Brousek jr., or Ivan Hašek came to support the benefit event that aimed also at raising of public awareness. During the Marathon, prof. MUDr. Cyril Höschl, DrSc. ceremonially launched the book “Miniatures” by Renáta Schubertová – psychotherapist of the MS Center in Prague 2. Well-known jazz singer Hana Robinson and her Trio provided musical accompaniement. The proceeds amounted to CZK 13,066 and it was assigned for the acquisition of physiotherapeutic equipment for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Art Facsimile Codex Auction of the Codex of Vyšehrad March 8–15, 2013 The Tempus Libri publishing house specializes in production of precise clones of precious manuscripts, documents, incunabula and other historically and culturally exceptional and valuable pieces. One of these works is the exclusive facsimile Codex of Vyšehrad of the king Vratislav from the 11th century. In our country, it is the most precious Latin manuscript at all. Endowment Fund IMPULS received as a gift one printout from a limited edition of 199 numbered specimen. In cooperation with the internet portal Aukro, and media support of Radio Impuls, IMPULS put it up for auction where it was sold for CZK 155,100. Part of the proceeds was dedicated to a MS patient, winner of the competition “Pošli to dál” (“Pass It on”) of Radio Impuls, and another part was used as a payment for physiotherapeutic training of patients with multiple sclerosis.
Benefit Concert for IMPULS St. Anna's Church, Prague 1, April 15, 2013 For the eighth time, the Endowment Fund IMPULS invited its donors, partners and employees to a beneficiary concert of the renowned multi-genre quartet Clarinet Factory. The jazz magician Alan Vitouš supported as a guest the performance together with the musician Jarda Svoboda. While in the previous years the proceeds were used to support physiotherapy, proceeds gained in 2013 that amounted to CZK 272,210 was remited in favor of the patient's register ReMuS. As a part of the concert, UNIMEX GROUP passed a check worth CZK 200 000 to the Endowment Fund IMPULS. Composer, musician and painter, Milan Cais, took care of a nontraditional insert. He presented his painting “Two Places – Two Worlds”, that he painted right on the stage in pursuance of the ceremonial launch of a new CD of Clarinet Factory. A month later, the painting was sold in an auction to the benefit of the Endowment Fund IMPULS for CZK 4,450. The gained means were dedicated to the same purpose.
“Body Meets the Soul” Recreation Premises near Jetřichovice April 12–14, May 24–26, October 11–13, 2013 In 2010, with the support of the Endowment Fund IMPLUS started the project of weekend meetings of experts and patients. It is already the third year of its successful running under the leadership of psychotherapists and physiotherapists from the MS Center, Prague 2, and external physicians. It is intended for patients with

multiple sclerosis. In the seminars, patients learn how to cope with the diagnosis through a proactive approach to life. They are looking for a connection between the psyche and the physical condition, between body and soul, and familiarize themselves with various physiotherapeutic and psychotherapeutic practices.

Charity Cycling event Provence Alps, France, May 20, 2013 In 2011, a group of enthusiasts from the organization Klimmen Tegen MS, Netherlands, founded a tradition of sport climbing on the mythical Mont Ventoux in southern France. This event is connected with raising funds for research and treatment of multiple sclerosis. In the following year, the event was success-
fully medialized, and attracted the interest of firms. So the number of participants, increased from originally 16 to 390 in May, 2013. The Endowment Fund IMPULS joined the event, and helped to dispatch a group of 17 Czech cyclists – patients and physicians. For every participant who managed climbing to the top of the famous “Wind Mountain” and reach the goal, a contribution of EUR 500 was credited to the Dutch foundation. The Dutch national fund managed to get a respectable EUR 473,082 for treatment and research of multiple sclerosis.

For the fourth time the streets of Prague turned into a catwalk for a few days. Prague has become a venue for major fashion event organized in the manner of the world's Fashion Weeks. At the autumn Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend 2013, numerous fashion designers and designers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia featured their latest collections, for the first time. Endowment Fund IMPULS presented its work at this prestigious event. In the time, when the center of Prague lived on fashion and design, it was possible to purchase for CZK 350 a fashionable shopping bag, the so-called, “Fashion Bag”. Then, the organizers donated to the Endowment Fund IMPULS CZK 100 for every piece that was sold. Total amount in favor of the Endowment Fund IMPULS and project ReMuS amounted to CZK 47,600.
Jazz tones performed by the singing pianist Hana Robinson and her guests resounded the theater ABC in a benefit concert organized by the Endowment Fund IMPULS in favor of patients with multiple sclerosis. Its aim is to present the works of authors with multiple sclerosis, their view of the world around them, and how do they look at their illness. overcome its symptoms. The vernissage of drawings, paintings, photographs, jewelry, works of textile or ceramics took place at the premises of Foundation for Architecture Development and Civil Engineering in Wenceslas Square. A number of authors, fans and supporters participated in the event.
Presentation of the Endowment Fund IMPULS English Secondary School in Prague 9, November 12, 2013 Raising of social awareness and discussing various social, political, artistic and scientific topics is the purpose of traditional meetings Lectures & Talks organized for students and teachers by the English Secondary School in Prague, Sokolovská Street. The theme of the November meeting was the issue of multiple sclerosis alias “Disease of the Young”. Representatives of the Fund have tried to outline the pitfalls of life with MS, present the work of the Fund and show how they can help patients. The aim was to shed light on the many taboos about the disease and encourage young people to think about their own social responsibility. In the inspirational meeting, journalist Hana Rausová and singer Hana Robinson gave a peep into their life with multiple sclerosis. More than 200 students listened with enthusiasm to their stories.

Endowment Fund IMPULS presented results of the first exit from the national register of patients with multiple sclerosis, Remus, at a breakfast associated with a press conference with kind support of Clarion Congress Hotel, Prague. Output data covered the period from 1/1, 2013 to 6/30, 2013. At that time, 1501 patients from three specialized MS Centers – General University Hospital, Prague, Teplice and Jihlava were involved in the project. Already the first data from the register confirmed the statistics known from other countries. Even in our country, two-thirds of patients with multiple sclerosis are women, the largest number of patients is between 20 and 40 years. More than a half of patients treated with expensive biological medication remain employable.

To make visible the work of people with multiple sclerosis and to support them in their activities was the intention of the Christmas benefit evening with the auction of jewelry. IMPULS
organized it in the premises of the Great Hall of the New Town Hall with the kind support of Prague 2, which also took patronage over the whole event. During the evening, with the participation of the mayor of Prague 2, Mgr. Jana Černochová, proceeds worth 47,600 CZK of the project Fashion Bag from Mercedez-Benz, and financial check from the company ALBI Czech Republic, worth CZK 10,000 was officially handed over to the Endowment Fund. Donations and profits from the auction were dedicated to support the project of nationwide register of patients, ReMuS.
Christmas markets in Prague December 2–11, 2013 Visitors of traditional Prague Christmas markets had the possibility to buy christmas wreaths, ceramics, candlesticks, pictures and other Christmas decorations made by MS patients. In this way, IMPULS not only supported the activity of patients, but also presented the results of their coursework. Except Christmas merchandise, it was possible to purchase also the calendar of Robert Vano “Klapzuba's Eleven” or the book of real stories of MS patients, “Miniatures”. Christmas collection proceeds in the amount of CZK 50,431, was directed in favor of the project ReMuS.

We have audited the accompanying financial statements of Endowment Fund IMPULS, which comprise the Balance Sheet as at December 31, 2013, Profit and Loss Account for the year ended 31st December 2013, and notes to these financial statements including the description of significant accounting methods used, and other explanatory information. Responsibility of the Endowment Fund’s Statutory body for the Financial Statements The statutory body of the Endowment Fund is responsible for the preparation of the financial statements that provide a true and fair view in accordance with the Czech accounting principles, and for such internal control system that is considered as necessary for the preparation of the financial statements so that they do not contain any significant (material) inaccuracies caused by fraud or error. Auditor’s responsibility Our responsibility is to express, based on our audit, an opinion to the financial statements. We performed the audit in accordance with the Act on Auditors, International Standards on Auditing and related application clauses issued by the Czech Republic’s Chamber of Auditors. In accordance with these regulations, we are obliged to observe the ethical requirements and plan and carry out the audit in such a way that we are reasonably sure that the financial statements do not contain significant inaccuracies. The audit includes performing auditing procedures to obtain evidence on amounts and data published in the financial statements. The selection of procedures depends on the auditor’s judgment, which also includes assessment of the risks that the financial statements contain substantial (material) inaccuracies caused by fraud or error. When assessing these risks, the auditor shall take into account internal controls that are relevant for the compilation of financial statements providing a true and fair view. The aim of this assessment is to propose suitable auditing procedures and not to express an opinion on the effectiveness of the internal controls. The audit also includes an assessment of the appropriateness of the accounting methods used, the soundness of the accounting estimates made by the management of the Endowment Fund, and evaluation of the general presentation of the financial statements. We believe that the evidence obtained provides a sufficient and appropriate basis for stating our opinion. Auditor’s Opinion In our opinion, the annual financial statements provide a true and fair view of assets and liabilities of the IMPULS, Endowment Fund as at December 31, 2013, and of the expenses, revenues and economic result in the accounting period ended on the 31st December 2013, in accordance with the relevant regulations applicable in the Czech Republic. The Endowment Funds annual report for the accounting period 2013 had not been submitted by the date of issue of the auditor’s report. Annual report will be examined separately after submission, and a separate auditor’s report will be issued.

c) General Accounting Information Accounting period: The accounting period is the calendar year 2013. Accounting methods used: The accounting entity keeps accounting according to the Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting, as amended, Regulation No. 504/2002 Coll. for reporting entities whose primary activities are not focused on business. Method of accounting record keeping: The accounting entity books are kept by means of computer technology. Method and place of archiving the accounting records: Register office in the seat of the Endowment Fund.

Application of general accounting principles: The accounting entity applies accounting records in accordance with the Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting, as amended, Regulation No. 504/2002 Coll., and Czech Accounting Standards for reporting entities whose primary activities are not focused on business. Methods of valuation: The accounting entity valuates its property and liabilities according to the Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting, as amended, Regulation No. 504/2002 Coll. Methods of depreciation: The accounting entity uses straight- line method of depreciation of fixed assets for the period of 5 years; and intangible assets for the period of 6 years. Method of assessment of fixed assets depreciation: sum of the actual depreciation. Method of assessment of the real value of assets and liabilities: the accounting entity did not use real value in 2013. Method of creation, and amount of adjusting entries: The accounting entity does not create adjusting entries. Method of creation, and amount of reserves: The accounting entity does not create reserves. Supervisory Board's Report for 2013 Supervisory Board’s Report 2013 Endowment Fund IMPULS IMPULS, Endowment Fund, was founded by an agreement between founders and came into being on April 6, 2000, when it was registered in the Endowment Register, Section N, insert 325 by the Prague City Court. The report is focused on Supervisory Board‘s monitoring activities and the result of financial statements 2013. In 2013, Supervisory Board ensured duties assigned to it by law, and by the Statute of Endowment Fund IMPULS. The Board supervised the performance of Managing Board, controlled accounting records and other financial evidence of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. It evaluated the management and control system effectiveness and assessed it on a regular basis. After reviewing financial statements for the period from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, Supervisory Board, basing on auditor’s opinion, stated that accounting records and evidence had been kept in a conclusive way and comply with generally binding regulations on bookkeeping. The accounting records and evidence depict all important aspects of the financial position of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. Financial statements drawn up on the basis of these accounting records provide a true and honest picture of the Fund’s accounting and financial position. The auditor of the company audited the fund’s financial statements and expressed its opinion without reservations. Supervisory Board recommends that the Managing Board approves the financial statements 2013 as proposed. -
The following is still valid: On 12/31/2012, Mr. Ing. Jiří Polenda has resigned his position Mgr. Marta Gellová continues to be a member By now, Supervisory Board has 2 members. It is necessary to co-opt or to elect the 3rd member in order to enable the Supervisory Board to be fully functional.
Supervisory Board supervised the Managing Board in accordance with the Czech Commercial Code, and the Statute of the Endowment Fund IMPULS. Supervisory Board did not find any deficiencies when pursuing its control activity. Based on ascertained facts and conclusions made, Supervisory Board recommends approval of the financial statements and of the proposal of activity for the year 2013.

Financial Statements and Their Approval
Accounting of Endowment Fund IMPULS is kept in compliance with Act No. 563/1991 Coll. on Accounting, as amended and executive measures related to it. Accounting book is kept by external accountant. Income tax return was and will be declared in compliance with the Law of the Czech Republic.
