Did you know that? It takes 0.65KWh of air conditioning energy to cool down every 1 kWh of lighting heat.
Did you know that? Meaning that you ernergy bill for lighting is actually 65% higher!

LED lighting is a natural fit for refrigerated and freezer cases, cold storage facilities, and many outdoor applications. PNNL-SA-85346 • January 2012
Business case 1 Global Phamarceutical Company Background.
Existing building
Project started in 2010 as pilot site for world wide roll-out for energy efficient lighting. Overall goal was to establish if it would be possible to implement LED lighting World-Wide with a ROI of < 3 years, without compromising the quality of lighting. It concerned an existing Global Distribution Centre. • Warehouses 12 meters • Warehouses 6 meters • Cold Storage 12 meters • Offices, meeting rooms, hallways and restaurant • Loading docks and parking areas and outside lighting. In total more then 6000 lamps were replaced by LED lighting

Annual Savings leading to 2.8 years ROI
Additional savings • After implementing dynamic switching with motion detectors, additional energy savings of 40% were realized. (=16% of the original energy consumption) • Because the LED lighting does not generate much heat, there are substantial savings in air-conditioning. • Based on the extra airco saving, the energy saving result of the coldstore is now > 100% according to the customer.
Business case 2 Large food manufacturing company Background
New building
New main facility of a large food manufacturer with production halls, warehouse, coldstorage -20°C, offices, loading docks and outside lighting. The client needed lighting levels up to 1000 lux in their production area for camera quality control.
