On the progress made under the 7th European Framework Programme for Research, EC 2008/04/30 This report is based on statistical data on 110 calls for proposals concluded[1] at the time of data extraction (2009/02/25), of which 97 were one-stage calls. These calls attracted 37.698 applications for funding, about two thirds (24.902) of which were submitted to one-stage calls. Much of the analysis of participation patterns and success rates in this report is based on the dataset of "included proposals". This dataset excludes: • ineligible proposals, i.e. submitted proposals that do not fulfil the formal eligibility criteria set by the respective calls for proposals; • duplicates as well as proposals that are withdrawn by the project coordinators; • in the case of two-stage calls, all eligible first stage proposals. [1] "Concluded" means that data on the evaluation and selection outcome are available and have already been communicated to the respective FP7 Programme Committees.
