Dance / Theatre - 9 performers ‘Gardenia’ daalt af in de woelige levens van negen opmerkelijke mensen: zeven oudere transseksuelen en travestieten, een Vlaamse actrice en een Russische danser. Elk met een zoektocht, met een intrigerend verhaal. ‘Gardenia’ is soms schrijnend, soms hilarisch, vertederend en woest, tegelijk aangrijpend en ontroerend. Het is een voorstelling die je raakt, en een groter compliment kan je theatermakers eigenlijk niet maken. (De Morgen)

‘Pénombre’ is geboren uit omzwervingen in het land van de Rijzende Zon. ‘Pénombre’ - halfschaduw - is een mysterieuze plaats, bewoond door een vrouw die het fantastische koppelt aan fantasmen. De vrouw als mythe in wie het erotische kan transformeren in het dierlijke. Videokunstenaar Lucas Racasse streelt met zijn films en beelden de huid van dit naakte lichaam, omwonden door menselijk haar.

« Pénombre » est né des égarements en pays nippon. « Pénombre » est un espace mystérieux habitée par une femme qui relie le fantastique aux fantasmes. Le mythe. Où l’érotique peut se métamorphoriser en animal. Le vidéaste Lucas Racasse caresse de ses films et images la peau de ce corps nu, enroulé dans une chevelure humaine.

‘Pénombre’ was born out of wanderings in Japan. ‘Pénombre’ - half-light - is a mysterious place inhabited by a woman, who is a link between the fantastical and ghosts. The myth. Where the erotic can metamorphorise into the animalistic. In his films and images, the video artist Lucas Racasse caresses the skin of this naked body, which is enveloped in human hair.

Na ‘bâche’, ‘IMPORT EXPORT’ en ‘Ashes’ slaat Koen Augustijnen een andere weg in met een volledig nieuwe ploeg van dansers, ontwerpers en musici. ‘AFTER...’ is een persoonlijke zoektocht van vijf personages naar liefde en troost in een andere wereld. Het gaat over de spanning tussen het individu en de groep en tussen het reële en de verbeelding. Voor ‘AFTER…’ gaat Augustijnen de uitdaging aan met muziek die zijn oorsprong vindt in de jazz.

Après « bâche », « IMPORT EXPORT » et « Ashes », Koen Augustijnen s’engage dans une nouvelle voie avec une toute nouvelle équipe de danseurs, d’auteurs et de musiciens. « AFTER... » est la recherche personnelle d’amour et de réconfort de cinq personnages dans un autre univers. Cette représentation évoque la tension entre l’individu et le groupe et entre la réalité et l’imagination. In ‘Origine’ Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui creates an intimate atmosphere with four dancers, from four different continents, which also seem to determine the great cultural relationships: north versus south and east versus west. Naast de reflectie over de tijd is de tijdelijkheid van alles een inhoudelijk uitgangspunt. Alles is met andere woorden ‘te huur’ ook immateriële dingen als verbondenheid, liefde en droefenis. Ook al lijkt de inhoud heel filosofisch, ‘A Louer/For Rent’ wordt een filmische, inhoudelijk sterke én magische voorstelling, waarbij de toeschouwer zich zal afvragen in wiens hoofd hij verzeild is geraakt, in wiens nachtmerrie, in welke wonderlijke wereld.

A côté de la réflexion sur le temps, un autre point de départ conceptuel est la nature éphémère de tout. Autrement dit, tout est « à louer », même les choses immatérielles telles que l’entente, l’amour et la tristesse. Même si ce thème semble plutôt philosophique, « A Louer » est un spectacle filmique, puissant du point de vue conceptuel et visuellement magique. En tant que spectateur, on se demande dans la tête de qui on a atterri, dans le cauchemar de qui, dans quel univers singulier.

In addition to a reflection on time, another starting point is that everything is transient. In other words, everything is ‘for rent’, even such immaterial things as solidarity, love and sorrow. Although the content seems very philosophical, ‘A Louer/For Rent’ will be a powerful and visually magical production, much like film in which the audience will wonder in whose mind it has ended up, in whose nightmare, and in which miraculous world.

Bezeten door een kracht verandert dit zo welgemanierd kwintet soms in een wilde furie. ‘Teach Us to Outgrow Our Madness’ verkent de intense relaties tussen vrouwen die nauw samenleven - zusters, nonnen, heksen, intieme vriendinnen, sekteleden of polygame vrouwen. De rivaliteit, de geheimhouding, de roddels, de wreedheid, maar ook de vriendelijkheid, de verbondenheid en de onvoorwaardelijke liefde. Dit stuk combineert dans, live muziek en verhalen tot een gruwelijke, maar ook bevrijdende ervaring.

Five Nordic women with a terrifying secret, possessed by a spirit that turns this at times so well-mannered quintet into a Dionysian force. ‘Teach Us to Outgrow Our Madness’ sets out to explore the intense relationships between women living closely together - be it sisters, nuns, witches, best friends, members of a sect, or polygamist wives. The rivalry, the secrecy, the gossip, the cruelty but also the kindness, the bonds, and the unconditional love. This piece combines dance, live music and storytelling into a horrifying yet liberating experience.

Arne Sierens en zijn spelers duiken onder in de donkere coulissen van een amusementsclub waar bloemenmeisjes instaan voor bruisend en prikkelend vertier. Explosieve dialogen, levensechte verhalen met een onbetwistbaar volks idioom, triviale figuren die ons toespreken in het dialect van hun ziel, heel fysieke bijna dansante bewegingen. Na een eerste speelperiode staat de voorstelling er helemaal zoals Sierens ze in gedachten had.

Allebei met een enkelband én een contactverbod. Maar één van hen kan het toch niet laten om de ander op te zoeken. Titus De Voogdt en Johan Heldenbergh hebben reeds bewezen een beproefd duo te zijn, een combinatie die garant staat voor ingeleefde weemoed, waarachtige weerloosheid en véél wrange humor. Deux hommes partagent un passé, mais pas d’avenir. Meilleurs amis pour l’éternité. Ensemble au travail. Ensemble en prison. Ensemble en liberté conditionnelle. Tous deux avec un bracelet pénitentiaire à la cheville et une interdiction de contact. Pourtant, l’un des deux ne peut s’empêcher d’aller voir l’autre.
