Een bijzondere geschiedenis Oorspronkelijk was dit markante gebouw, dat bekend stond als Villa Insulinde, het hoofdkwartier van de Nederlands Indische Suiker Unie. Tijdens de Duitse bezetting was de berichtendienst van de Nederlandse Omroep er gevestigd en later het Gewestelijk Evacuatiebureau Zuid-Holland. Na de oorlog werd het aangekocht door de overheid en bood het lange tijd onderdak aan de Raad voor de Kunst. Het is nu een Rijksmonument. An extraordinary history Known as Villa Insulinde, this striking building was originally the headquarters of the Netherlands Indies Sugar Union. During the German occupation it housed the Dutch radio news service and later the regional evacuation service. After the war, it was acquired by the government and for many years housed the Council for the Arts. It is now a national monument.
