Gazdaság Középszint: Családi gazdálkodás; A pénz szerepe a mindennapokban; Vásárlás, szolgáltatások (pl. posta, bank) Emelt szint: (a fentieken túl:) Üzleti világ, fogyasztás, reklámok; Pénzkezelés a célnyelvi országokban

1. CONVERSATION Examiner: We are going to talk about teenagers and their pocket money. • Do you get pocket money? How much? How often? • What do you do with your pocket money? Do you put it aside or do you spend it right away? If you spend it, what do you spend it on? If you save it, where do you keep it? • Do you get any money if you help at home or get a good grade at school? How do you feel about it? • What do you do/What can you do if you want to buy something, for example a new mobile phone or a trendy pair of boots, but you do not have enough money?

The situation: You are studying in the UK. Your friend wants to talk to you because his old laptop has broken down and he needs to get a new one for his studies as soon as possible. His/Her parents cannot afford to buy one for him/her. Your task: Your examiner will play the role of your friend. Give him/her advice.
Prompts for the interlocutor: • What shall I do in this situation? My parents can’t help and at the moment I am short of money. • Do you think I should buy a new laptop or a second-hand one? • What if I buy it on credit? • I wish I could save up but I don’t know how to start. • Thank you for the advice. I’ll probably …
The situation: You are a student in the UK, and you and your friend have just found a flat to rent. You are now discussing what you have to spend money on. Since you are students you have to be careful what you can afford and what not.
Prompts for the interlocutor: • Let’s see what we must pay for each month. • Don’t forget the (water/ heating/ electricity). We must be careful how much of it we use. • Do you think we should spend any money on cleaning? • What if something goes wrong? I guess we have to pay for repairs. • I don’t think the money I get from my parents will be enough. • Do you think we should ask someone else to move in? We would have to pay less.
Your task: Your examiner will play the role of your friend. Discuss with him/her what you will have to pay for and how you will find the money for that.

1. CONVERSATION Examiner: We are going to talk about teenagers and their money. • Do teenagers have money of their own? Where do they get it from? • What do people of your age have to spend money on? How do they manage their money? • Do you think teenagers should be encouraged to sell things to have some money? What could they sell? • What do you think of borrowing money from a friend or a relative? Is it wise to owe money if you do not have regular income? Why (not)? • In your experience are teenagers willing to lend money or share their money with their friends? Why is it so? • Do you think teenagers should go and earn their own money instead of asking their parents for it all the time? Why (not)?
2. DEBATE Teenagers should be given a credit card as early as possible. You will have a conversation with your examiner about the above statement. Give your opinion and argue for or against the proposition. Your examiner will sometimes contradict you. React to the counterarguments of your examiner too. You may want to consider the following aspects: - peer pressure vs parents’ trust - the possible consequences - preparing for adulthood
