ACTIVITIES DURING DAY Grete Moortgat
Tomoki Mori
Tomoko (°1954) studied in Mishima Dojo under Masahiro Oki Sensei 1980-1984, and in 1984 started her life in the United Kingdom, working for Okido Yoga activities. Since then, she has been searching her teaching ways and gradually developing her subtle yet deeply-penetrating ways. She approaches to Okido Yoga practical philosophy using various physical exercises. Conversely, she stresses that the Okido Yoga practical philosophy, when put into practice, enhances effects of these physical exercises. Tomoko is the principal teacher of Okido Natural Health Education Trust Ltd, a UK-based charitable organization (www.okidoyoga.org.uk ). Before entering Okido Yoga, she studied geography and mathematics at Japanese universities. She lives in England and has raised four children..
Mieke Vervecken
Mieke is a mother of six with 40 years of experience in macrobiotic cooking. For ten years she ran a yoga centre in Antwerp where she also cared for people with various illnesses. Mieke studied the art of macrobiotic cooking in London, Antwerp and Boston and went on to refine her insight through intense training in Japan. From 1998 to 2010 she was head of the kitchen at the internationally renowned dance company ROSAS in Brussels, where macrobiotic lunch is served every day. She gives advice to individuals, companies and schools in Europe and the Middle East. In 1990 Mieke started “The School of Natural Cookery” (De Natuurlijke Kookschool) which strives to teach people how to prepare balanced, healthy meals. Ms. Vervecken is quite apt at connecting the dots between our eating habits and many diseases in the developed world without overcomplicating things. She is well respected for the enthusiasm in conveying the insights provided by years of experience.
Carine Vanhalst
Sonja Jacobs
Sonja Jacobs (1965) has had a passion for fashion, beauty and creativity all her life. While following a training in shiatsu she enjoyed the macrobiotic meals. As 2 of her children have symptoms of ADHD, for which they needed medication, she was looking for a more natural approach. She finished the 3- year macrobiotic cooking training at “The Natural Cooking School, Belgium’ and has been assisting cooking classes for many years. Changing her diet has changed her life: she felt much fitter and had a clearer mind. She looked at problems in a different way: “ I have discovered that macrobiotics is not just a diet. Macrobiotics gives you a key to deal with yourself and with others in a different way; problems become interesting challenges that one/I no longer want to run away from.”
Jan Vervecken
Jan Vervecken (°1949) began to study shiatsu, macrobiotics and food in Antwerp (Belgium). Then he went to study in Boston with Michio Kushi. In 1983 he left for Japan to study with Masahito Oki for more than one year. He integrated all these different disciplines and together with his wife Mieke Pieters he ran the Okido Yoga dojo in Antwerp (1982- 1990) He is director of The International School of Shiatsu (ISS) and is often invited as a guest teacher in Switserland, Japan and Holland. He is known for his integrity, and touches one’s true soul in his lectures and treatments.( www.iss-shiatsu.eu)

She is supporting the art of natural education in the Rotterdam East West Centre for more than 20 years.

She taught at both throughout the 80's, and in many parts of the world for over 20 years. Her life long inspiration is Nature, the source of all systems, and what she reveals to us on our journey, through metaphor, internally and externally. Her experience working with individuals, families and groups, is that the energy of true food, exercise, dance and song revitalise and replenish our soul, every cell and thought, and we sustain our wholeness and freedom. Anna is a Strengthening Health Counsellor, Karen Kingston Space Clearing Practitioner, Interior Alignment Teacher and Macrobiotic Teacher.

Help Bob and his wife Wendy develop organic, biodynamic, permaculture, Fukuoka and Anastasia gardens as first steps in making a peaceful world.
Vendula Carr
Vendula finished her PhD studies in Food Hygiene at Brno University of Technology in 2012, which included two years field work at Lund University in Sweden. She decided not to pursue a career in this field. Instead she embarked on what really interested and motivated her: a macrobiotics path together with her husband Bob Carr. Her biggest interest is self-development, learning from Nature and life. This especially includes massage, dance and body movement, women’s cycles, as well as creating a beautiful home and education center on a recently purchased 10 hectare farm/homestead. Also, she enjoys cooking, playing piano, some guitar and singing ( Hallelujah!!! ) with Bob. Her main activity now is aimed at creating an environment for raising a family, with the goal of expanding into, sharing with and contributing to the existing community. She looks forward to eating ….getting real nourishment.. from fresh food grown in her own gardens.

Willem Willems
