Illustration Colour usage in detail

Illustrations should use the purple colour gradation as specified on this page. In all communications the line should always enter from the left side of the page and go out to the right side using the solid colour purple or white for the reverse colour version of the illustration.

The primary overlapping curves of the illustration uses the purple gradation to achieve the 3D effect. For very complex illustrations it is not mandatory to use the purple gradation on all of the overlaps. The purple gradation is always used on top of the overlapping curve with solid purple being underneath. Please note this is reversed for the light purple gradation. White illustrations use solid white on top of the overlapping curve with the light purple gradation being underneath. Create the purple gradation using the illustrator blend tool. A step by step guide is shown in the briefing document on how to create the purple gradation using Illustrator from the Adobe Creative Suite. Storytelling illustrations use the purple gradation more freely for its overlapping curves, please see the visuals on the following pages.
