She is an expert in research on leadership and ethics and specializes in methodology for research into sensitive topics such as corruption and fraud. Recent work has been published in Public Management Review, Public Administration, Sociological Methods and Research, Journal of Change Management and Public Integrity. Her co-authored textbook ‘Ethics and Management in the Public Sector’ (with Alan Lawton and Julie Rayner) has published by Routledge in December 2012. Karin is an experienced academic teacher and regularly provides training and consultancy for public sector organizations in the Netherlands. In 2011 she was awarded the VU/FSW Jenny Gierveld Fellowship for female talented scholars.
