GEOMARIN III SURVEY FOCUS: 1. To accelerate the systematic geological mapping program, empasized on epicontinental and deep sea areas where natural resources (hydrocarbon, sulphide minerals and methane hydrate) are usually present. 2. Upgrading the status and knowledge of Indonesian hydrocarbon basins, particularly on the eastern Indonesian regions where geological exploration data are lacking. 3. Geotectonic studies on the tectonically active areas. 4. Mapping of the mineral placer deposits, particularly on the inner western Indonesian shelf.
