CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
1.1. Conclusion Integrating school management information systems within a business organization will not only prove for a faster, more efficient workplace. School management information systems will also improve the bottom line for company growth. The main purpose of this Thesis project is to analyze school management information system that PT Programa Reka Piranti develop by design the system with a user friendly user experience. It is also designed to be adaptive with mobile browser. We made the web this way to ensure that the user, both the teacher and students can access our services anytime, on any device as long as they have internet access in their device.
1.2. Suggestion • Dual language for better localization in the future. • For school to assemble IT team in charge of maintaining the system while also providing support and training regarding the system. • Dual language for better localization in the future. • In the future, PT Programa Reka Piranti might want to add another module to manage SMS communication, message, email, library, human resource, and finance, along with integration with well-known

S: Jadi kalian mau buat skripsi dengan Abdi Siswa sebagai topic penelitiannya, betul begitu? A: Hampir Bu. Kami mau mencoba untuk membuat sistem informasi untuk membantu manajemen sekolah. S: Maksudnya seperti apa itu? A: Sekarang ini kan sekolah banyak pakai aplikasi komputer untuk membantu proses tata kelola sekolah. Nah, kita mau mencoba untuk membuat sistem informasi sejenis itu. S: Kan banyak yang sudah jadi, terus kenapa harus dibuat lagi? A: Selain untuk skripsi, system informasi yang kita buat sudah terintegrasi Bu. S: Jadi kalau ibu beli aplikasinya satu per satu kan sangat mungkin aplikasi itu tidak salaing berhubungan. Kalau aplikasinya tidak saling berhubungan, akan ada kemungkinan data satu aplikasi dan aplikasi lainnya tidak singkron. A: Betul Bu, selain itu kelebihan aplikasi kita adalah dapat menghasilkan laporan sesuai dengan permintaan atau pada waktu-waktu tertentu. Sesuai dengan kebutuhan Abdi Siswa. A: Selain itu, system informasi ini juga dibuat supaya sesuai dengan proses bisnis Abdi Siswa. Sama halnya dengan membeli baju. Kalau kita bandingkan antara baju yang dibeli langsung di rak butik dengan baju yang dibuat di tailor, baju yang dibuat di tailor tentunya akan lebih nyaman kan Bu? Karena disesuaikan dengan selera dan ukuran masing-masing pelanggan. S: Betul. Betul. Dengan zaman teknologi seperti ini, perkembangan sekolah pun semakin dinamis seperti tugas tugas dapat dikumpulkan dengan sistem online seperti email dll.
336 S: Selain itu, penggunaan sistem seperti ini dapat menghemat pengunaan kertas untuk tercapainya prinsip “Go Green“. Sebagai alumni, sekiranya Kalian sudah mengetahui beberapa permasalahan yang ada di sekolah ini dan dengan menjadikan sekolah ini sebagai sebuah objek penelitian kalian juga sudah turut membantu membawa perubahan yang baik bagi sekolah ini. A: Apa saja masalahnya Bu? S: Tentu penerapan sistem ini memiliki beberapa tantangan, salah satunya berupa SDM. Maka dari itu, dalam implementasi ini diharapkan sistem yang dirancang,

dirancang
sedemikian
rupa

dapat
memudahkan semua pihak terutama bagi yang masih awam. S: Berikutnya mengenai masalah komunikasi. Diharapkan sistem ini juga dapat dirancang untuk mempermudah komunikasi antara pihak sekolah dengan murid, misalnya jika terjadi perubahan jadwal yang mendadak dan memastikan informasi tersebut sampai ke orang tua murid. Hal ini kan terlebih dahulu harus disetujui dan ditandatangani Kepala Sekolah. Sedangkan Kepala Sekolah di Abdi Siswa itu selalu memiliki tingkat kepadatan jadwal yang tinggi sehingga hal ini akan memakan waktu. Kadang surat lupa disampaikan ke orang tua atau muridnya tidak masuk. A: Biasanya berapa hari Bu? S: Sekitar 3 hari sampai dengan 2 minggu. Belum lagi kalau ada anak yang sakit, atau suratnya lupa diberikan ke orang tua. S: Maslah lain adalah masalah buku perpustakaan.
Siswa terkadang
meminjam buku tetapi lupa mengembalikan buku tersebut walaupun sudah diperingatkan
berkali-kali.
Akhirnya
terkadang
buku
tersebut
tidak
dikembalikan samapi Siswa itu lulus. A: Kalau di Binus Bu, kita ada yang namanya kartu ujian mahasiswa. Kartu itu harus dibawa saat mengikuti ujian. S: Kita juga sudah punya kartu itu. Sudah sejak dulu A: Tetapi Bu, kalau di Binus, kartu itu hanya akan diberkan oleh sistem apabila mahasiswa sudah menyelesaikan masalah tunggakan uang sekolah dan perpustakaan. S: Hmm…
337 A: Iya Bu, jadi kalau dia ada tunggakan, belum mengembalikan buku, atau keduanya maka Siswa tersebut tidak akan dapat mencetak kartu ujiannya. Hal ini akan berakibat pada Siswa tidak dapat mengikuti ujian. Sehingga tunggakan dan masalah buku akan selesai sebelum musim ujian. S: Wah, mearik ini. Masalah lainnya adalah masalah orang tua. Seringkali orangtua tidak berkomunikasi secara intens dengan anaknya. Sehingga kalau ada masalah, mereka sering tidak tahu. Sampai ketika dipanggil barulah mereka tahu bahwa selama ini anaknya ada beberapa masalah yang belum terselesaikan. A: Wah, jadi setelah masalahnya menumpuk barulah orangtua itu tahu ya Bu? S: Betul. Hal ini tentunya tidak sesuai dengan nilai-nilai sekolah kita. Kita juga mau minta tolong dibuatkan sistem dimana orangtua bisa tahu poin anaknya dan status kehadiran mereka. Sehingga kalau ada hal yang janggal mereka bisa tahu dan diselesaikan secara kekeluargaan bersama dengan sekolah sebelum masalahnya menjadi besar. A: Kita mengerti dengan apa yang dimaksud oleh pihak sekolah. Kita berusaha mewujudkan aplikasi ini sedemikian rupa sehingga penggunaan maupun penerapannya sendiri nanti dapat memberikan manfaat bagi pihak sekolah. S: Betul. Tetapi kalau memungkinkan tolong dibuat supaya bisa dimengerti ya. Karena sebelumnya kan kita belum banyak memakai system seperti ini. Saya memiliki kekhawatiran untuk sumber daya manusianya. Saya khawatir fitur aplikasi yang diberikan terlalu banyak sehingga membuat bingung dan malah mengganggu aktifitas sehari-hari sekolah. A: Jangan khawatir Bu, kami akan mengusahakan supaya aplikasi ini bisa dirancang sesederhana mungkin. Selain itu, aplikasi ini juga tidak harus diterpkan. Kan tugas kami untuk merancang dan menganalisa. Untuk masalah implementasi, kembali lagi pada kebijakan pihak manajemen Abdi Siswa. S: Kapan perkiraan proyek ini selesai? Bagaimana kerangka pemikirannya? Dan hal – hal apa saja yang dapat dibantu oleh pihak sekolah? A: Perkiraan aplikasi Desember (menyesuaikan jadwal magang), namun akan tetapi kami masih membutuhkan finalisasi dan penyelesaian akhir yang
338 diperkirakan mencapai bukan Februari atau Maret (Setelah Sidang). Tentu, dalam penelitian ini, kami membutuhkan beberapa data maupun sampel penelitian untuk menjalankan penelitian ini. Namun, kami masih fokus kepada proses bisnis dari sekolah ini sendiri dan tidak memasukan data2 penting seperti data guru, siswa, dll. Data tersebut baru akan dimasukkan apabila pihak sekolah ingin menerapkan.

This is the log in screen to Abdi Siswa information system, here the user can log in according to their credentials. The credential type are: admin, librarian, teacher, student, and parent.

On the dashboard, the user can see the important status in accordance to their roles. For admin, the status is server load, visits, and feedbacks from users. It’s collapsible and they can customize it from control panel.
