Annual Report 2014
Bátor Tábor Bátor Tábor Foundation. For the recovery of children with oncological and other chronic illnesses.
We change lives.
Celebrate with us!
It was fourteen years ago when the organisers of the first Bátor Tábor session were excited about the arrival of 35 children with oncological illness. The site, the conditions and the environment were different, the names of the camp leaders were different, but the enthusiasm, the intentions and the experience for children have not changed since then. In 2014 there were 1011 campers who entered the gates of Bátor Tábor. Now we have thirty colleagues working full-time and hundreds of volunteers who all do their best to ensure that the professional competence and the beneficial effects of Bátor Tábor remain the same, even if the number of campers is constantly growing.
We provide life-changing experience, strength and tools to live and to recover for seriously ill children and their families. And all this is free of charge. We believe that the sun is always shining behind the clouds.
An annual report is always a good opportunity to review the successful events. At this point we always stop to celebrate a little and to gain some strength and motivation from our success in order to get ready for the challenges of the next year. I would like to highlight some of our inspiring and remarkable results which we are really proud of: • We have grown big: this year we hosted more than a thousand of campers. • Bátor Tábor Foundation has won one of the most prestigious prizes of the medical profession, the Astellas special prize, for our efforts in therapeutic recreation provided for seriously ill children and their families.
• The campsite has been built and improved: the new bridge and the paths around the lake were finished and most buildings were equipped with air-conditioning facilities to make the experience of seriously ill children more careless even on hot summer days. • We have organised the 10th Bátor Tábor Contemporary Art Auction. The jubilee event has become a venue of annual meetings of home and foreign artists and contemporary collectors. We are really grateful to our committed and enthusiastic supporters, to the thousands of volunteers, to the doctors and nurses, to numerous companies and private persons who support Bátor Tábor with their time, expertise or
money, thus making it available that our campers can take part in our programs free of charge. We are also grateful to the families who remain faithful to us and trust us year by year. Thanks to them and you that Bátor Tábor is working and improving! In the name of the Bátor Tábor team and its campers we would like to thank you for your support, trust, love and appreciation that you give to us! Thank you very much, Attila Molnár CEO

Ways of donations for organisations and companies Charity partners
Charity makes any event attractive. Fortunately, more and more people think it so. In the Tennis Classics competition valuable sports relics have been auctioned; in the Gerbeaud Party some charity raffle was sold; in the concert of Halott Pénz, Bátor Tábor could be supported by buying tickets. These are only some examples from the last year’s colourful events that we were the beneficiaries of.
We have made sport of Rock ‚n’ Roll!
In June there were 11 music bands starting the K&H Marathon Race in the colours of the ‚Élménykülönítmény’. They raised donations, promoted charity running events, mastered numerous kilometres and after all this, gave a concert to us in the evening.
The campsite for rent
Telenor rented our campsite in June and held their two-days workshop for managers here, thus supporting us. Strabag PFS has been organising their corporate family days in our campsite for several years. Their more than thousand guests visit us as if they were coming home.
Bears for the camp
Provident Zrt. company had 800 teddy bears sewed for our campers by disabled workers. The company provided 11 EUR supplementary grant per each bear for Bátor Tábor, thus voluntary work joined goodwill and support.
MetLife Insurance Company started in several races and competitions in the colours of ‚Élménykülönítmény’ in the last year, thus raising nearly 4.7 thousand EUR. In Poland, Deutsche Bank has challenged its competitors: representatives of the banking sector started the race together in the colours of Bátor Tábor in the Warsaw Accreo Ekiden relay marathon.
Charitative contemporaries
In April, 90 pieces of art were put under hammer in the 10th Contemporary Art Auction of Bátor Tábor in Budapest. 60% of the money (this time 130 thousand EUR) that was paid for the high quality home and international selection was raised as support for Bátor Tábor. In October in our 2nd Contemporary Auction in Warsaw 45 works of art were sold for almost 44.5 thousand EUR. Thank you!
Those who heal in T-shirts
1%: on the Top list Only an SMS
In the beginning of June the Fókusz (Focus) television programme on RTL channel organised a fundraising campaign for us. In 25 minutes 23,862 calls or messages were received on ‚Adhat’ (You can give) fundraising line, which meant 19.7 thousand EUR for us.
10
Thanks to ACG, our new 1% film has been made. Our campaign has been really successful: Bátor Tábor has received 271.5 thousand EUR of donations from almost 19,000 tax payers; this way we have won the third place on the Hungarian Top List.
Instead of gifts
We have been on the shelves As the result of a Christmas campaign, ALDI put some products on its shelves by the buying of which one could support Bátor Tábor.
Alerant Kft. bought Bátor cards for 3 thousand EUR. Their customers received this for Christmas, this is how consideration, business and support were connected.
With materials, action and knowledge
Some little things to do good Do it with Golf
The Pannonia Golf Club in Máriavölgy has hosted a special event at the end of every August for 11 years. The Bátor Tábor - KPMG - HBO charity golf tournament is an informal networking event where the guests raised over 136 thousand EUR for our camp.
Charity Running Everywhere
Athletes of our charity runner community, the ‚Élménykülönítmény’ wearing purple T-shirts could be seen in Budapest, Warsaw, Prague, Oslo, Firenze and those wandering in El Camino. In 2014 there were 426 of our runners taking part in 22 races.
Some people like simple and quick solutions. In the last year the regular donations of only 50 people were enough to collect 4.7 thousand EUR by the end of the year, and it meant some thousand Forints in a month only. This money allowed us to provide for the meals of 70 children in a summer session.
Rózsakert Medical Center ordered Bátor Tábor T-shirts from our webshop. Their employees have been telling the whole world and their patients about their commitment through these T-shirts since then.
Cars were filled for us, too The car fleet of Szabadits Zrt. company used the Mol Green Card, and their regular refuelling raised 2.5 thousand EUR of donations for Bátor Tábor.
Does your company run?
’Élménykülönítmény’ is a special team building and healthcare program which is becoming more and more popular among companies. There are some who return and some who are addicted. Besides their other support, the team of
Numerous companies support us with materials or services: IT advisory services, coaching, organisational development, graphic and printing services, marketing, PR media appearance, courier service - just to mention a few. Each Forint that we can save this way can contribute to the smile of our campers.

We believe that everyone can help the best with what they are the best at. Thus, volunteering can find many ways at us.
