Ana Kapor & Vladimir Pajevic – Egy sziget
Ana Kapor elbűvölő, szinte magától értetődő természetességgel az olasz Quattrocento mentén dolgozik, míg Vladimir Pajevic vitális energiával fordul a XIX. század alkotói stílusa felé. Mindkettejük képein, magas fokú realitásuk mellett – mely a természet külső megjelenési formáját követi – a metafizikus festészet hagyományait követve, egyfajta rejtett részletet fedezhetünk fel.
Miközben a legszebb harmóniát sugározzák felénk, annak törékeny, múló voltára is emlékeztetnek.

Ana Kapor & Vladimir Pajevic – An Island
The artists Ana Kapor and Vladimir Pajevic create artworks, that build within the immense sea of contemporary art a unique, even lonely island. Both of their oeuvre show highest respect for the academical rules of composition and arrangement. They both follow uniquely the art of the past epoques. With captivating implicitness, Ana Kapor is in line with the painting of the Italian Quattrocento. Vladimir Pajevic adopted with vital energy the manner of painting of the 19th century. Thus the aesthetic form of expression of the two artists is as different as their personalities. It seems as if the two oeuvres would underline the mental polarity of the male and the female or of the Dionysian and the Appolonian. The depiction of landscapes is always technically virtuosic and realised with outsized proximity to nature. But they never offer mere realistic representations of a natural surrounding. In the artworks of Ana Kapor and Vladimir Pajevic something hidden becomes visible in form of a high realism, that orientates itself at the outer appearance of nature, similar to the approach of the metaphysical painting. A truth is shown, that deprives us in reality of any access. Such an artistic way of expression offers a suitable stage for the topics of longing and silence, transience and past, common topics of both artists. A place, that is more than any other connected to the image of longing, silence, transience, is the garden. Thus the garden as a main motive is an evident link between the artistic work of Ana Kapor and Vladimir Pajevic. Ana Kapor’s artworks show a fondness for the Italian garden art of the 16th century with its immanent geometrical order and the impressive water theatres, whereas Vladimir Pajevic is inspired by the enigmatic character of seemingly near-natural, mystic gardens, as they have been characterized by the art of English landscape gardening. Vladimir Pajevic is a magician of light, of shadows. His gardens are places of shining, passed days, whose breath still wanders through the leaves of the old, dark trees. Memories of long passed times give off the sweet scent of melancholy and at the same time promise a happy future. For in the images of Vladimir Pajevic there is always a path, a light spot, a piece of bright sky.
Ana Kapor paints apparently endless, tender, fertile gardens and landscapes. The restrained, delicate colours, the transparency and clarity of the image space of the still, meticulously geometrical depictions communicate in a gentle way the fugacity. By spreading the most beautiful harmony, they remind at the same time their highest fragility. The wondrously calm water surfaces, in which the architecture and the landscape is mirrored, are a constant reminder, that the slightest breeze is sufficient to break with this harmony. Thus the artworks of the couple complement one another in a fortunate manner. The paintings of Ana Kapor are of a captivating gaiety, in which also the knowledge of a possible loss is implied, whereas the images of Vladimir Pajevics show this loss explicitly and announce the possibility of a renewed happiness.
