‘’ I am Kárász Róbert, who came up with the idea
of the ’Adopt a Teddybear’ programme in 2012. The main goal of our foundation is to call the attention of the public to the situation of those living with disabilities as well as to support their social integration by creating work opportunities for them.
We organize a charity auction every year, where people can adopt teddybears belonging to famous Hungarian artists and celebrities. We are happy to announce that we are to open the firs ’Adopt a Teddybear’ coffeeshop and community center where we can employ people with altered working abilies. ’
STARTING POINT Currently in Hungary only 10% of the 600 000 disabled people are empolyed. In Western Europe this rate is over 40%.

Adopt a Teddybear Caffeehouse - THE CONCEPT Within the frames of our employment programme we open the first café and art center, where we hire employees living with disabilities.
planned date of opening: February 2015 planned location: Budapest – city center (main requirements: easy to access, popular with tourists) planned size: 600 square meters catering, cultural and communal center at one location with the involvement of other service providers who will also employ disabled people our coffeeshop itself will function as a cinema room that can seat approximately 100 in the coffeeshop we will offer a wild range of coffees, teas (also takeaway) and pastry 15.80
in the future we will open more ’Adopt a Teddybear’ café-s nationwide operating in a franchise system in our center 15-20 people with altered working abilities will be employed (mental disorders, visual impairement, hearing impairement, handicap, depending on the positions to be filled)
Cultural and art center Our goal is to provide a new form of entertainment: people can enjoy their coffees while films are shown on the movie screen.
we support the Hungarian and European culture – films made in Hungary and other European countries will be presented we organize tematic movie festivals – special documentaries and films related to people with disabilities will be introduced we organize temporary exhibitions presenting the works of disabled artists (eg. photographers, visual artists) we organize integration programmes (leisure activities, art workshops)
we offer items produced by people living with disabilities (shop and markets)
we will also facilitate company events for our partners

‘ADOPT A TEDDYBEAR‘ CHARITY AUCTION
In our campaign well-known, honoured Hungarian celebrities offer their childhood teddybears and other personal items for auction at a grand gala. Since 2012 we have organized three galas of this kind and we are preparing another big event for this year too. The venue is Danubius Hotel Gellért.
The event takes place on the 3th December, which is known as the United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event has more and more publicity therefore it can communicate the message widely to all the society.
Our campaign has been supported by over 100 highly respected personalities including sportsmen, politicians, businessmen, actors, singers and musicialns, writers and film directors. Thanks to the generous offers we have raised 13,5 million HUF that we are using to carry out our project.
