Curriculum 2013 has been applied since year 2013. In curriculum 2013, teacher has a role as a facilitator for the students. Besides that, the students must be active in learning process. But, in fact many teachers especially the English teachers still have problems in implementing curriculum 2013, such as the difficulty in implementation of effective learning by using a scientific approach, the difficulty of teacher to search books that appropriate with curriculum 2013, the difficulty in assessment process, the limitation of time in teaching, and the differences in the abilities of student to understand the materials that are provided by the teacher. The objective of the research is to find out the English teachers’ problems in implementing curriculum 2013 of SMA N 1 Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. The writer used descriptive qualitative research exactly case study. That method is used to describe the problems which are faced by the English teachers in implementing curriculum 2013 of SMA N 1 Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. The writer collects the data through the interview and observation. The writer analyzed the qualitative data by identifying, classifying, and describing the problem which are faced by the English teachers in implementing curriculum 2013 of SMA N 1 Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. In the result of the research, the writer concludes that the problems which are faced by the teachers not only caused by the teachers but also caused by the students and the government. There are 14 kinds of problems that are faced by the English teachers in implementing curriculum 2013 of SMA N 1 Kudus in academic year 2013/2014. According to the English teachers, from 14 kinds of problems there are 11 problems coming from the teachers themselves. Then, 2 problems come from students, and 1 problem comes from the government. Therefore, the writer suggests that the teachers should get more understanding about curriculum 2013, by reading some books which are related to the implementation of curriculum 2013. Besides that, the students must be active to express their idea and must be focus in the teaching learning process. The last, the government should give more attention to the implementation of the curriculum 2013.

Kata Kunci: Masalah yang dihadapi guru bahasa inggris, penerapan kurikulum 2013. Kurikulum 2013 telah digunakan sejak tahun 2013. Dalam kurikulum 2013, guru memiliki peran sebagai fasilitator untuk siswa.Selain itu, siswa harus aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Tetapi pada kenyataannya, banyak guru terutama guru bahasa inggris masih mempunyai banyak permasalahan dalam melaksanakan kurikulum 2013, seperti kesulitan dalam menerapkan pembelajrana yang efektif dengan menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah, kesulitan dalam mencari buku refensi yang sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013, kesulitan dalam proses penilaian, pembatasan waktu pembelajaran, dan perbedaan kemampuan siswa untuk memahami materi yang telah disampaikan oleh guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan masalah-masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum 2013 di SMA N 1 Kudus Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Penulis menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif tepatnya studi kasus.Metode tersebut digunakan untuk menggambarkan masalah-masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum 2013 di SMA N 1 Kudus Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Penulis mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan pengamatan. Penulis menganalisis data kualitatif dengan mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, dan mengdeskripsikan masalah-masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum 2013 di SMA N 1 Kudus Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Pada hasil penelitian, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa masalah-masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum 2013 di SMA N 1 Kudus Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014 tidak hanya disebabkan oleh guru tetapi juga disebabkan oleh siswa dan pemerintah. Ada 14 jenis masalah-masalah yang dihadapi guru dalam menerapkan kurikulum 2013 di SMA N 1 Kudus Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Menurut guru bahasa inggris dari 14 jenis masalah, ada 11 masalah yang berasal dari guru itu sendiri, 2 masalah berasal dari siswa, dan 1 masalah berasal dari pemerintah. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menyarankan bahwa guru sebaiknya meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai kurikulum 2013 dengan banyak membaca buku yang ada hubungannya dengan penerapan kurikulum 2013. Disamping itu, siswa harus aktif dalam menyampaikan ide-ide mereka dan lebih fokus dalam proses pembelajaran. Terakhir, pemerintah harus lebih memberikan perhatian terhadap penerapan kurikulum 2013.
