Key words: Classroom English, Teaching Practice, Teaching Practice Students One way in managing the class is by using classroom English optimally. It should be master well by teaching practice students who conducts teaching practice program in the school. If classroom English is optimally used by them, it will also give influence for the students to do the same. But, in the class there are some teaching practice students who are still get difficulties in applying it. Whereas, it has been taught in Speaking for Instructional Purposes (SIP) and Micro Teaching subject. The objective of this research is to describe the use of classroom English by teaching practice students English Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty Muria Kudus University in SMA 1 Gebog in the academic year 2012/2013. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research are utterances containing classroom English which is used by teaching practice students, while the data source is taken from transcript of video recording of teaching and learning process by teaching practice students in examination meeting. Those data will be analyzed by using the model of classroom English by Glyn Hughes and Josephine Moate (2007). After analyzing and also calculating the data, it is obtained that the use of classroom English by teaching practice students as many as 39%. So, it means that it is seldom used by them. There are some classrooms English which are not used by teaching practice students. Eventually, the writer suggests that the teaching practice students should develop and also maintain the use of classroom English to get real classroom environment. Then, for college students who want to take Teaching Practice subject that they should fully concern in using classroom English during the teaching and learning process. They can use the model of classroom English by Hughes and Moate as their reference, because it is often used in daily routines. At last, the writer also suggests for those who want to conduct a similar research as the writer did, they are able to elaborate the use of classroom English by analyzing it with other theories, different subject, and others. ix

Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muria Kudus. Pembimbing: (i). Rismiyanto, S.S, M.Pd., (ii) Ahdi Riyono, S.S, M.Hum. Kata Kunci: Bahasa Kelas, Mata Kuliah Praktik Mengajar, Mahasiswa Praktik Mengajar. Salah satu cara untuk mengatur sebuah kelas adalah dengan penggunaan bahasa kelas secara optimal. Hal tersebut sebaiknya dikuasai dengan baik oleh mahasiswa praktik mengajar yang melakukan praktik di suatu sekolah. Ketika bahsa kelas tersebut sering digunakan, hal ini juga akan memacu murid untuk melakukan hal yang sama. Namun, didalam kelas terdapat kesulitan dalam penggunaan bahasa tersebut. Padahal, bahasa kelas sudah diajarkan pada mata kuliah SIP dan Micro Teaching. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ntuk mengetahui apa saja bahasa kelas yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa praktik program studi pendidikan bahasa inggris fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan Universitas Muria Kudus di SMA 1 Gebog dalam tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Desain dari penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Data yang digunakan adalah dari ucapan yang bahasa kelas yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa praktik. Sedangkan, sumber data yang digunakan adalah dari transkrip percakapan selama proses pengajaran. Kemudian data tersebut akan di analisa menggunakan model bahasa kelas oleh Glyn Hughes dan Jospehine Moate (2007). Setelah menganalisa serta menghitung didapatkan hasil bahwa mahasiswa praktik menggunakan bahasa kelas sesuai model sebanyak 39%. Ini berarti, mereka jarang menggunakan nya. Terdapat beberapa model bahasa kelas yang tidak digunakan oleh mahasiswa praktik. Akhirnya, penulis menyarakan bahwa untuk mahasiswa praktik harus meningkatkan penggunaan bahasa kelas untuk mendapatkan kelas yang lebih hidup. Kemudian untuk mahasiswa yang akan mengambil mata kuliah Praktik Pengalaman mengajar memperhatikan penggunaan bahasa kelas selama pengajaran. Mereka juga dapat menggunakan teori Hughes and Moate. Tearkhir, bagi yang ingin melakukan penelitian bahasa kelas untuk bisa menggambarkan penggunaan bahasa kelas dari teori yang berbeda dan juga subjek yang berbeda pula. x
