THE ANALYSIS OF INDONESIAN-ENGLISH CODE MIXING USED IN RADITYA DIKA NOVEL ENTITLED MANUSIA SETENGAH SALMON
ABSTRACT
This study was aimed to describe the word classes of Indonesian-English code mixing, find out the meaning of Indonesian-English code mixing, find out the dominant of Indonesian-English code mixing, and find out the reason using Indonesian-English code mixing used in raditya Dika novel entitled Manusia Setengah Salmon. The type of the study was content analysis method and the writer used qualitative approach in finding out the answer of the problem of the study. The writer analyzed Manusia Setengah Salmon novel to collect the data which related with this study by using data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion. This study validated by using Theory triangulation. The result of the study shown that there were 65 sentences or utterances consisted English nouns as code mixing. Furthermore, the writer divided into 87.69% of countable nouns, 3.08% of uncountable nouns, 6.15% of abstract nouns, 1.54% of concrete nouns and 1.54% of plural nouns. According to the result of the study showed that countable nouns used more dominant than others. In this case, mostly English countable nouns cannot be translated into Indonesian are used without changing their original words. The writer alsofound the meaning of all code mixing words. In this study, the writer used lexical meaning and contextual meaning. The meaning presented by oxford dictionary and appropriate with the context of the sentence used in Raditya Dika Novel entitled Manusia Setengah Salmon. The writer also found three kinds of translating process, there are borrowing consisted 25 sentences, literal consisted 14 sentences and adaptation consist 28 sentences. And the kinds of translation process in technical devides in deep structure such as translation, transliteration, transposition, modulation was not found by writer. According to the result, code mixing mostly used as need feeling motive. The frequency using needed feeling motive 23 sentences or utterance with the presentage in 35.385%. ANALISIS CAMPUR KODE DARI INDONESIA-INGGRIS YANG DIGUNAKAN PADA NOVEL RADITYA DIKA YANG BERJUDUL MANUSIA SETENGAH SALMON
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kelas-kelas kata dari campur kode Indonesia-Inggris, menemukan makna dari campur kode IndonesiaInggris, menemukan jumlah frekuensi dari campur kode Indonesia-Inggris dan menemukan alasan penggunaan campur kode Indonesia-Inggris pada novel Raditya Dika yang berjudul Manusia Setengah Salmon. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dan penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dalam menemukan jawaban atas rumusan masalah. Penulis menganalisa novel Manusia Setengah Salmon untuk mengumpulkan data yang berhubungan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion. Dan divaliditas dengan menggunakan trianggulasi teori. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 65 kalimat yang beisi kata benda dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai campur bahasa. Selanjutnya, kata benda tersebut dibedakan menjadi 87.69% countable nouns, 3.08% uncountable nouns, 6.15% abstract nouns, 1.54% concrete nounsdan 1.54% plural nouns. Ini menunjukan bahwa jenis countable nounsdengan jumlah sekitar 87.69%l ebih dominan dibandingkan bentuk lainnya atau.Dalam hal ini, sebagian besar kata benda countable nounstidak dapat diterjemahkan kedalam bahasa Indonesia sehingga digunakan kata tersebut tanpa mengubah keaslian kata itu sendiri. Penulis menggunakan pemaknaan dari semua kata campur kode. Dalam hal ini digunakan pemaknaan secara lexical dan pemaknaan secara konseptual. Penulis juga menemukan tiga jenis proses menterjemahkan, ada borrowing berisi 25 kalimat, literal berisi 12 kalimat dan adaptation berisi 28 kalimat. Dan jenis translation, transliteration, transposition, modulationtidak ditemukan oleh penulis. Campur bahasa sebagian besar digunakan sebagai need feeling motive. Frekuensi penggunaan need feeling motive berisi sekitar 23 kalimat dengan jumlah persentasi sekitar 35,385%. Kata kunci : Analisis, Indonesia-Inggris, campur kode, Manusia Setengah Salmon
