Project Background
GIS have ability of spatial analysis and time. search public facility based on the distance and the nearest road route in the municipality of Surabaya is still done with how to view a map (hardcopy) or guide Build a web-based GIS system that provides information on the nearest public facilities based on distance and road routes in the municipality of Surabaya.
Problematic
How to get data related to the accurate and complete as the fulfillment of this project. Process data to support spatial data into GIS. How to build a web-based GIS is based on data obtained so that it can provide information on public facilities in the municipality of Surabaya.
Objective Provide information about the location or the location of the nearest public facilities based on distance and road routes in the municipality of Surabaya, especially health, communications, transportation, security, industry, tourism, religion, education, offices, and sports using a web-based GIS.
Problem Limitation
The object area is Surabaya municipality.
Data which is used is secondary data include health, communications, transportation, security, industry, tourism, religion, education, offices, and sports.
Application development using open source technologies, namely GIS MapServer

Input Data; This subsystem is responsible for collecting and preparing the attribute and spatial data from various sources. This subsystem is also responsible for converting the format, and transform the original data format into a format that can be used by the SIG. Output Data; This subsystem is the output or display all or part of the database in the form of softcopy and hardcopy form, such as: tables, graphs, maps, etc.. Management Data; This subsystem organizes both spatial and attribute data into a database so easy to be called, in the update, and in-edit. ta, etc.. Manipulation & Analysis Data; subsystem determine this informationinformation that can be generated by the GIS. It also can perform data manipulation and modeling u / information expected.
