INTISARI
Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan (green house) Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Muria Kudus, Kecamatan Bae, Kabupaten Kudus. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Desember 2013 sampai Januari 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode percobaan faktorial dengan Rancangan dasar Acak Kelompok lengkap (RAKL) yang terdiri atas 11 perlakuan yaitu: M1 (murni pasir), M2 (murni arang), M3 (murni kascing), M4 (murni pasir dan NPK 1 gr/tanaman), M5 (murni arang dan NPK 1 gr/tanaman), M6 (murni pasir dan NPK 2 gr/tanaman), M7 (murni arang dan NPK 2 gr/tanaman), M8 (pasir+kascing=1:1), M9 (arang+kascing=1:1), M10 (pasir+kascing=1:2), dan M11 (arang+kascing=1:2) dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media tanam berpengaruh terhadap hasil selada. Perlakuan media tanam M4 (pasir+NPK 1 gr/tanaman) menunjukkan hasil selada lebih tinggi (164,18 gr).

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted at greenhouse of the test-farm of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Muria Kudus University located in Gondang manis Village, Bae Sub-district, Kudus District, from Desember 2013 until January 2014. The experimental method applied in this research was the single factor type based on the Randomized Complete Block Design consisted 11 different growing media as follows: M1 (pure sand), M2 (pure charcoal), M3 (pure vermicompost), M4 (pure sand and 1 g of NPK fertilizer/plant), M5 (pure charcoal and 1 g of NPK/plant), M6 (pure sand and 2 g of NPK/plant), M7 (pure charcoal and 2 g of NPK/plant), M8 (vermicompost+sand=1:1), M9 (charcoal+vermicompost=1:1), M10 (sand+vermicompost=1:2), and M11(charcoal+vermicompost=1:2), each replicated 3 times. It was found out at the end of this research, that the type of growing media effected the growth of lettuce, and the application of pure sand with 1 gram of NPK fertilizer (M4) gave the highest lettuce growth (164.18 gram).
