Bersekolah Murah dan Bekerja Mudah di Australia Anda berminat menyekolahkan anak Anda di Australia? Saya mau berbagi pengalaman saya dengan Anda. Ternyata bersekolah di Aussi tidak begitu mahal dan mendapat pekerjaan juga mudah, asal tahu caranya. Tahun 2009 saya ikut kursus bahasa Inggeris di Perth selama tiga bulan. Biayanya di bawah $1800 termasuk biaya kursus, akomodasi dan asuransi kesehatan. Murah ‘kan? Untuk biaya hidup yang lain, tergantung gaya hidup, ya. Kemudian saya dengar bahwa Hotel Ensel International di Sydney sedang mencari tenaga kerja. Saya masukkan aplikasi saya dengan Riwayat Hidup. Anehnya, saya diwawancarai hanya lima menit melalui telepon, langsung diterima padahal saingan saya banyak orang lokal. Saya baru tahu bahwa apabila kita pernah kerja di suatu perusahaan internasional di Indonesia maka data itu akan link di seluruh dunia. Karena dulu saya pernah bekerja di Hotel Ensel Jakarta di bagian pelayanan kamar, saya juga diterima di Hotel Ensel International di Sydney. Saya segera pindah ke Sydney dan mulai bekerja dan kursus di sana. Saya menyarankan anak Anda bekerja dahulu di perusahaan internasional di Indonesia sekurang-kurangnya setahun, karena nanti akan lebih mudah mendapat pekerjaan di cabang perusahaan itu di Australia. Yang paling penting, harus mendapat visa sekolah sebelum berangkat. Dengan visa tersebut boleh bekerja maksimum 20 jam seminggu sambil belajar. Selama tinggal di Sydney saya bekerja di hotel tersebut sambil belajar. Saya bisa memenuhi semua kebutuhan saya tanpa meminta dari orang tua satu rupiah pun. Jika Anda ingin anak Anda bersekolah di Australia, Anda tidak perlu khawatir tentang biaya hidup atau pekerjaannya. Semua akan beres kalau mengikuti nasehat saya.

Question 10 (16 marks)
Upacara Perang Pandan
Desa Tenganan terletak 70 km dari kota Denpasar di pulau Bali. Desa ini termasuk salah satu desa tua di Bali. Lokasi desa ini dikelilingi bukit, dan bentuk desa seperti sebuah benteng. Hanya ada empat pintu masuk dan semuanya dijaga. Karena itu lebih mudah mengetahui siapa yang datang dan pergi dari desa tersebut. Menurut dongeng, pada zaman dahulu daerah Tenganan dan sekitarnya diperintah oleh seorang raja yang bernama Maya Denawa. Maya Denawa jahat sekali dan dia melarang orang Bali melakukan ritual agama. Mendengar itu, para dewa menjadi marah sekali. Maya Denawa harus dikalahkan. Para dewa memilih Dewa Indra sebagai dewa perang. Meskipun perang ini memakan banyak korban, akhirnya Maya Denawa kalah. Untuk menghormati Dewa Indra, tiap tahun pada bulan kelima menurut kalender Bali, diadakan Upacara Perang Pandan di Desa Tenganan. Semua orang desa berpakaian adat Tenganan. Para pria hanya memakai sarung dan ikat kepala tanpa baju. Senjata perangnya termasuk sebuah perisai yang terbuat dari rotan dan sebuah gada yang dibuat dari daun tanaman pandan yang berduri. Senjata tersebut melambangkan senjata yang dipakai dalam perang antara Maya Denawa dan Dewa Indra. Kini, setiap pria di desa ini harus ikut dalam Upacara Perang Pandan, seperti juga waktu perang dulu. Saat Upacara Perang Pandan akan dimulai, dua pria berhadaphadapan. Seorang penengah berdiri di antara dua pria ini. Setelah penengah mengangkat tangan tinggitinggi, dua pria itu saling memukul punggung lawan dengan gada daun pandan sampai berdarah. Darah yang keluar adalah tanda hormat kepada nenek moyang yang berluka dan yang dikorbankan dalam perang berdarah dulu. Setiap pertandingan tidak berlangsung lama, kadangkadang kurang dari satu menit dan selesai sesudah salah satu pria jatuh. Kemudian pertandingan berikut mulai, dan ini dilakukan terusmenerus selama kurang lebih 3 jam. Melalui ritual ini masyarakat Tenganan memberi hormat kepada Dewa Indra. Sesudah upacara tersebut, luka pria dibersihkan dengan obat tradisional. Tidak ada kesedihan atau tangisan dari penonton atau pria yang bertanding pada saat itu karena mereka semua merasa gembira. Berkat Dewa Indra masyarakat Tenganan sekarang bebas memuji dewadewanya dan melakukan ritual keagamaan lagi.
