Nederland tegen Zuid-Afrika – 31 mei 2013 De Zuid-Afrikaanse ploeg verblijft in Nederland als voorbereiding op de ICC Champions Trophy in Engeland en Wales in juni. De KNCB en Cricket South Africa (CSA) hebben voor de tour in Nederland een programma van trainingen en activiteiten voor teambuilding opgesteld. OVP clubhouse: blauw, geel, wit en wat roze
OVP clubhouse: blue, yellow, white and some pink
Het is zover. Afgelopen donderdag is het clubhuis geplaatst. Dichtbij het veld kunnen we nu al koffie zetten, water halen en zelfs provisorisch lunch maken. Wat een verbetering!
Finally we have a clubhouse close to our first field. Since thursday it is possible to make coffee, get water and prepare a simple lunch. Quite an improvement!
In het weekend is er vooral door de dames, ondersteund door Paul Herman, hard gewerkt aan het witten van de muren. Inmiddels zijn we daar bijna mee klaar. Alleen het plafond kan nog een likje verf gebruiken. De ervaring leert dat het met veel mensen snel kan gaan. Welk team ziet het plafond als een leuke teambuilding activiteit?
In the weekend mainly the ladies - with support from Paul Herman - have painted all the walls. The painting is almost completed with the exception of the ceiling. Experience tells us that with many people the painting will go quickly. Which team can make this last part of painting their teambuilding activity?

Over drie weken komt de vloer, en dan moet de bar af zijn. Na het schilderen zal de bar de hoogste prioriteit zijn.
In the next three weeks the bar will have the highest priority. The bar needs to be finished before the floor can be put into place.

The current priority is to install the clubhouse at its new location and renovate it to provide a focal point for our club activities. An artist impression of the bar is shown below.

Contacting Past and Present Members for additional contributions. Contacting local businesses for financial contributions in return for placement of logos on the website with a link to their website. The minimum for this will be €100. Providing an opportunity to local and other businesses to place logos on team shirts for cost from €175 to €400 depending on the position of the logo. Sponsoring of balls at matches. Individuals and members can sponsor the ball for each match at a cost of €20.
The objective is to raise a minimum of €5,000 with the above initiatives within the next three months. Therefore, the committee hopes all members will assist in this exercise by identifying and approaching potential sponsors to contribute. 120 jaar jong Invitation Jacques Kallis Foundation Diner Wednesday evening, May 29 at 19h00, a fundraising dinner is being organized at V.O.C. Rotterdam at which Jacques Kallis, world’s greatest allrounder, will be the 'guest of honour'. During this dinner Jacques will be interviewed about his cricket career, the achievements of the Proteas and of course his Foundation. Before the dinner Jacques is available for a 'picture and autograph' session for young cricketers. Proceeds of the dinner (€100 p.p.) and an auction of a number of unique cricket memorabilia will go towards the Jacques Kallis Foundation. The Jacques Kallis Scholarship Foundation supports boys from disadvantaged communities with scholarships at four renowned high-schools in South Africa. The focus is on the one hand on their academic education but every scholar possesses also some kind of cricketing talent.
