Dear Colleagues, Although today it is Friday the 13th , I very much hope you do not suffer from Paraskavedekatriaphobia so let me welcome you to the March issue of our electronic newsletter with Emily Dickinson’s nice words: "March is the month of expectation, The things we do not know, The Persons of Prognostication Are coming now. We try to sham becoming firmness, But pompous joy Betrays us, as his first betrothal Betrays a boy." Emily Dickinson, XLVIII Internet has become a new platform for users because it has become easy for anyone to create, upload and share information with Web 2.0 technologies. Learn more about it as these may be ”the things we do not know” - and make use of it in your everyday teaching. You’ll see, your students will be more than fascinated and grateful. Find out more about already held and forthcoming programmes on using Multimedia in the classroom. In addition to all these, there is lot more to explore in the spring issue of News&Views. As usual, you can find useful links with practical teaching tips for different age groups to have a look at and try out for St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoy reading! Anikó Wagner

"...this course is the best and most useful training I've ever taken part in" Multimedia in the English Classroom An accredited course for English language teachers in association with IATEFL Hungary, the Pedagogical Centre of Western Hungarian University and the Western-Danubian Regional English Teaching Information Centre in Szombathely, 12-28 February 2009 In February IATEFL Hungary’s successful Multimedia Course came to Szombathely, to meet 12 teachers from ’Savaria’ and Vas county. This course was a series of super-intensive hands-on workshops on the use of modern Web2.0 technologies including wikis, blogs, podcasts and a lot more in the classroom. If the participants were afraid of digital natives (=the students), they don't fret any more - this course has helped them to get to grips with the latest technologies and they have learnt how to make creative use of them in the classroom. Participants have created their own virtual classroom during the course, their first ever WebQuests have been done and shared, 'delicious' links have been collected and exciting activities have been designed. They feel they have "become wizards of ICT" in the English classroom and can make their students feel charmed by using all the tools they have learned at the course. Read on for comments from participants' blogs at the beginning, middle and end of the course here .

Módszertani ötletgyőjtemény nyelvtanároknak A külföldi tanártovábbképzésekrıl hazaérkezı pedagógusok számtalan nagyszerő tanítási módszer, technika megismerésérıl számolnak be, mellyel felpezsdíthetik a tanórai munkát, motiválhatják a tanulókat a tananyag elsajátítására.
