On 18 March Ministry the main exhibitors (Ministry of Interior, ÉMI, HUGBC) and the organizer (ÉVOSZ) hold a press conference about the upcoming ÖKOCity Exhibition and Forum. The exhibiton’s main idea to show the visitors a nearly zero energy building and how it is working in operation. While they could have practical advises from the exhibitors about planning, proper material selection, optimal costs of energy-saving investments. On the press conference Károly Matolcsy spoke about role of good examples in order to reach nearly zero consumption through the energy-efficient improvements of PIME’S project in Szentendre. On 26 March VSZ Zrt. office building was officially introduced to the representatives of the municipality, employees of VSZ Zrt., project partners and to the press. József Kroó spoke about the elements of the energyefficient development: the building has now new doors and windows, 14 cm insulation, hybrid PV system and electricity and hot water production is also supported by a biomass and wood gasification plant.

On 03 June the municipality of Szentendre organized a public information event about the forthcoming developments in Püspökmajor area like the refurbishments of Hamvas Béla residential houses. The 32 participants could ask their questions from the representatives of the municipality, ÉMI Nonprofit Kft, VSZ Zrt., V8 Leisure Center and the local police and public premises surveillance.

On 11 December the main building of ÉMI Knowledge Center of Construction was awarded with a certificate of merit by the jury of the Architect Niveau Price 2014. As they said: “ÉMI demonstrates with tis building the internationally also innovative technologies, the possibilities of sustainable, ecological building in practice. The aim of the development is to create a basis for companies, organisations and educational institutions related to the building industry. Beside its architectural values the office buildings main advantages are the environment-conciousness and energy-efficiency and demonstrations of exemplary building structures.“ Date: 11.12.2014
