Naast verplichtingen uit de Arbo-wetgeving zijn er ook diverse andere wet- en regelgevingen van toepassing op bijvoorbeeld het gebied van vluchtwegmarkering. De wet- en regelgeving voor maritieme en offshore-objecten wijkt af van die voor landinstallaties. Immers, op zee zijn de omstandigheden anders dan in gebouwen, fabrieken, werkplaatsen en publieke ruimten. Daarnaast kan de wet- en regelgeving per land verschillen. Health and safety signage Employers are legally required to take measures to prevent and limit hazards to the safety and health of employees! Obviously, the first measure is to ensure that effective health and safety warnings are available. Alongside OSHA legislation, there are many other laws and regulations that bear upon employers, for example, in the field of escape signs. Legislation and regulations applying to maritime and offshore assets often deviate from those applicable onshore. Obviously, conditions at sea are different to those in buildings, plants, workplaces and public spaces. Moreover, every country has its own laws and regulations. Nalichtend materiaal Vluchtroutes, brandbestrijdingsmiddelen en reddingsmiddelen moeten juist in noodsituaties en ook bij eventuele lichtuitval goed zichtbaar zijn. Ditzelfde geldt voor obstakels in vluchtwegen. Deze permanente zichtbaarheid kan worden gerealiseerd door gebruikmaking van elektrische armaturen. Echter, in veel situaties is de toepassing van nalichtend materiaal uit praktisch of economisch oogpunt te prefereren. Nalichtend materiaal laadt zichzelf op met licht en straalt dit uit in het donker. Ideaal dus bij het uitvallen van de reguliere verlichting. Nalichtend materiaal is in verschillende kwaliteiten en in diverse prijsklassen leverbaar. Door slimme toepassing van nalichtend materiaal wordt in veel situaties op een relatief goedkope wijze een veilige situatie gerealiseerd.
Photoluminescent (PL) material Emergencies, possibly with blackouts, are the moments when escape routes, fire-fighting resources and rescue equipment must be clearly visible. The same applies to obstacles on escape routes. This permanent visibility can be achieved using electric light fittings. However, in many situations, from a practical or economic point of view, it can be preferable to apply photoluminescent material. PL material charges itself up with ambient light, then glows in the dark. An ideal solution when the regular lighting fails.

De toepassing van beschermlaminaten resulteert in een verminderde vuilaanhechting en een verhoogde UV bescherming. Daardoor blijft ook na jaren de signalering nog steeds duidelijk zichtbaar en herkenbaar.

Blomsma Signs & Safety is a 3M-authorised manufacturer, and we also produce custom signage. As a 3M-authorised manufacturer, we are able to guarantee color and adhesion for up to 5 years. The application of protective laminates reduces soil adhesion and increases UV resistance. Even after many years, the signage is still clearly visible and recognizable.

vluchtwegmarkering Voor ieder object geldt dat onder alle omstandigheden een snelle ontruiming mogelijk moet zijn. Daarom moeten vluchtroutes duidelijk zijn gemarkeerd. Ongeacht de verblijfsplaats binnen een gebouw, op een terrein, schip of offshore-installatie moeten de verschillende relevante vluchtwegen altijd in één oogopslag zichtbaar en herkenbaar zijn. Uniform uitgevoerde vluchtwegmarkering leidt naar een veilige omgeving of verzamelplaats. Daarbij moet op schepen en offshore-installaties aanvullend worden verwezen naar reddingsvlotten en boten. Kortom, een goed ontwikkelde en goed aangebrachte vluchtwegmarkering is het verlengstuk van ieder ontruimingsplan. Daardoor kan een gecontroleerde ontruiming of ontscheping worden gerealiseerd.
Escape marking Without exception, a fast and full evacuation of every structure must be ensured in all possible circumstances. For this reason, escape routes must be clearly marked. Regardless your position within a building, on a site, ship or offshore installation, the various relevant escape routes must always be apparent and recognizable at a glance. Uniformly displayed exit marking leads the evacuee to a safe position or assembly point. Aboard vessels and offshore installations, supplementary signage must direct personnel to life rafts and boats. Simply, carefully developed and properly installed escape marking is a vital extension to every evacuation plan. It ensures that any evacuation or embarkation is orderly managed.
Reddingsmiddelensignalering In noodsituaties moet de aanwezigheid en de plaats van reddingsmiddelen in één oogopslag vanuit alle richtingen zichtbaar zijn. Daarom moeten alle reddingsmiddelen met de juiste symbolen worden aangeduid. Op locaties waar de signalering niet duidelijk waarneembaar is, dienen op strategische punten verwijzingen te worden geplaatst.
Rescue equipment signage In every emergency, the presence and location of rescue equipment must be apparent at a glance from any direction. This includes that all rescue equipment is indicated with the correct symbols. At locations where the signage is not clearly observable, directions must be placed at strategic points.

Vluchtroute-geleidingssysteem Bij brand gaat de rookontwikkeling naar boven. Daardoor zijn de gebruikelijke hoog geplaatste vluchtwegaanduidingen niet meer zichtbaar. De ideale oplossing daarvoor is een laag bij de grond aangebracht vluchtroute-geleidingssysteem, vaak Low Location Lighting (LLL) genoemd. Diverse ISO normen (16069, 15370), SOLAS en IMO resolutie A.752(18) geven voor verschillende toepassingsgebieden duidelijke richtlijnen. Bij het goed naleven van deze richtlijnen is de vluchtroute, ook in het donker, bij een ontruiming goed zichtbaar.
Escape route guidance system When fire breaks out, smoke will rise. This obscures the view of the usual high-mounted escape route signage. The ideal solution is to install a near-ground level escape route guidance system, often referred to as Low Location Lighting (LLL). Various ISO standards (16069, 15370), SOLAS and IMO resolution A.752(18) state clear guidelines for a range of application areas. Proper adherence to these guidelines ensures that the escape route is easy to follow during an evacuation, even in the dark.

Bijvoorbeeld door het aanbrengen van een nalichtende signalering boven een handbrandblusser, of door retroreflecterende aluminium verwijzingsborden bij brandblusleidingen. Fire prevention signage There are several ways to ensure that fire prevention and fire-fighting equipment are found quickly in hectic circumstances. De signalering hiertoe dient eventueel te worden aangevuld met geldende beschermings voorschriften en verboden. Blomsma Signs & Safety levert naast enkelvoudige veiligheids signalering ook de zogenaamde samengestelde borden. Deze samengestelde borden informeren over gevaren, geboden en verboden. Aan de hand van de situatie wordt de informatie duidelijk gerangschikt op het betreffende bord. Daarbij is het zelfs mogelijk de borden in uw huisstijl vorm te geven.
Composite signs Hazardous work situations must be recognizable, and appropriately marked. The signage for this purpose should be added with applicable personal protection regulations and prohibitions. The information is arranged in an accessible way on a sign, specific designed for the situation. You can also elect to have the signs in line to your corporate identity.

Ontruimingsplattegronden Ontruimingsplattegronden zijn een wettelijk verplicht onderdeel van de vluchtweg markeringen. Zij maken de informatievoorziening naar de gebruiker van het gebouw, de fabriek of installatie compleet. Dit geldt zowel voor land, maritiem als offshore installaties. Conform NEN 1414 en ISO 23601 maakt Blomsma Signs & Safety de ontruimings plattegronden zodanig eenvoudig en stilistisch dat doelgroepen de tekeningen goed kunnen lezen en interpreteren. Zodoende kunnen zij zich altijd goed oriënteren op de relevante vluchtweginformatie. Door de plattegronden in huisstijl van de opdrachtgever uit te voeren ontstaat er uniformiteit binnen de organisatie van de opdrachtgever.
evacuation plans Evacuation plans are a legally required part of the escape route marking. They give the finishing touch to the information you provide for the user of the building, plant or installation. This applies equally to onshore, maritime and offshore installations. In conformance to NEN 1414 and ISO 23601, Blomsma Signs & Safety provides a simplified and stylized evacuation plan that target groups can easily read and comprehend. This ensures that they can always orientate themselves on the relevant escape route information. Laying-out the plan in the corporate identity of the customer contributes to uniformity within the customer’s organization.
Calamiteitenkaarten Procedures moeten bekend zijn en duidelijk worden gecommuniceerd. Daarom is het noodzakelijk dat over deze procedures informatie wordt verstrekt ter aanvulling op de ontruimingsplattegronden. Dit kan een beknopte instructie zijn: ”wat te doen bij een calamiteit”. In combinatie met de ontruimingsplattegronden worden alle relevante instructies vanuit het veiligheidsplan naar de doelgroep gecommuniceerd.

Zo’n signmanual is een uitgewerkt plan dat de basis vormt voor de uitvoering van veiligheids- en gezondheidssignalering. Op basis hiervan wordt de signalering conform de wet- en regelgeving uitgevoerd. Een professioneel signmanual draagt tevens bij aan een gewaarborgd onderhoudsysteem. Na de inventarisatie van een locatie wordt de benodigde veiligheids- en gezondheids signalering uitgewerkt. Daarbij wordt in het signmanual op bouwkundige tekeningen aan gegeven waar welke signalering benodigd is. Dit betreft zowel de plaats waar de signalering wordt aangebracht, de grootte en de uitvoering ervan, als het gebruikte materiaal.

This signmanual is a detailed plan that creates the basis for development and installation of health and safety signage. It is grounded for the implementation of signage compliant with legislation and regulations. A professional signmanual also contributes to a dependable maintenance system. Following the survey of a site, the required health and safety signage is analyzed, then specified in detail. The signmanual states, on drawings, the exact position of each health and safety sign, the size, variant and materials used.
3D-visualisatie op borden Driedimensionale tekeningen zijn veelal eenvoudiger te ‘lezen’ en daardoor duidelijker dan tweedimensionale tekeningen. Het is een manier van visuele vormgeving die ervoor zorgt dat de boodschap nog beter wordt overgebracht aan de doelgroep. Het plaatsen van borden met driedimensionale tekeningen wordt veelal toegepast in explosiegevaarlijke omgevingen (EX) en gecertificeerd volgens de ATEX richtlijn ten aanzien van signalering en veiligheidsinstructies.
