AGROFERT Foundation
In the AGROFERT group we understand that the companies do not only generate profit and that they are an important employer in respective regions, but they also have responsibility towards their surroundings. We therefore decided to establish the AGROFERT Foundation in 2011, which integrated already existing charitable activities of the whole group into one long-term strategy. The companies of the group have contributed almost 100 million CZK to the Foundation activities. Within three years of its existence, the AGROFERT Foundation has donated over 50 million CZK to the projects covering the full spectrum of activities of non-profit organizations. The Foundation assistance focuses mainly on the support of projects whose aim is development of one of the following areas:
Children and the youth
Health and care
Investment in childhood and the youth, their development and education is one of the most important. We support children and young people who have courage and strong intentions and the barriers they have to face do not discourage them from their efforts – whether physical or mental impairment or circumstances, which do not contribute to any ambitious objectives.
“Health is the most important thing in life”. We support not only institutions and organizations which provide medical care and help patients and their families, but we are also committed to projects focused on prevention of serious illnesses and promotion of science and research.
Development of regions The AGROFERT group belongs to the largest employers in the Czech Republic. It stands to reason that we intend to contribute to the development of the whole region and the local community where our companies operate.
Support to disadvantaged and handicapped citizens “A disability does not necessarily imply a handicap”. We intend to help people whose life is so difficult that they do not have the strength for anything else than just life itself. Human dignity, whether we are ill or old, is for us the most important value.

AGROFERT 2015
Significant projects Support of physically, mentally disabled children or children disabled by the circumstances in which they grow up
In the year 2014, over 1200 children were engaged in sport activities at 53 sport centers.
Each year, the AGROFERT Foundation publishes calls for grant applications which are focused on the support for organizations that help children with different types of handicap.
Firefighters' Fund
We are one of the few foundations which contribute to running costs of these organizations and thereby in many cases to their viability. Sport Centers established by the AGROFERT Foundation The project „Sport Centers established by the AGROFERT Foundation“ is mainly designated for children from socially disadvantaged families who cannot do any team sports or other activities due to the low incomes of their parents. The AGROFERT Foundation organizes sport activities, which do not give them many opportunities to idle around or spend too much time at their computers after school, but they commit themselves to sports. Trainings are led by experienced instructors, and the fact that the children do not need to commute anywhere as all activities are organized at their schools is another great advantage. The offered sports are suitable both for boys and girls: basketball, floorball, volleyball, handball and athletics.
In the year 2015, the AGROFERT Foundation started activities of the Firefighters´ Fund intended especially for voluntary fire services, organizations and associations. The fund contributes to the purchase of instruments, machinery or equipment and it also supports activities in the field of emergency and rescue activities, firefighter sports, work with children and the youth, organization of social, sport and cultural activities in the region or activities supporting traditions of firefighting.

The aim of this Fund is to give a helping hand and effective assistance to families who are at risk of their children being taken into institutional care. The core of the Fund’s activities is to prevent unwanted removal of children from their families, and to provide targeted assistance to families that have fallen into difficult social or other threatening situations.

Significant projects
Fund for single parents The fund supporting single parents in emergency situations is an independent project of the AGROFERT Foundation. The Fund is intended for lonely single parents raising one or more children (biological, adoptive or foster children). We support mothers and fathers who despite all efforts ended up in a difficult situation and who actively try to find a constructive way out of it. The fund contributes most frequently to rents and energy related to accommodation, school lunches, garderies, basic furnishings, education and extra-curricular activities for children. In 2014 the employees of the Agrofert Group supported the children of single parents in emergency situations by the collection of Christmas presents (over 400 presents were collected and distributed to children's homes) and in cooperation with the Kroužky agency, the stay at summer camps has been prepared for them. Most contributions of this Fund are covered directly from the AGROFERT Foundation appropriations and the whole Minister's salary of Mr. Andrej Babiš is sent to the Fund's account as well. Individual donators and organizations are being added.
The AGROFERT Foundation decided to pay attention to single parents in particular with a view to the fact that bad financial situation of these parents strongly influences children who grow up with them. The children disadvantaged by these circumstances become socially isolated and they often end up on social securing contributions without any perspectives of future employability. Do you know that… …ca. 22% of Czech children live only with one parent, i.e. approximately 400 000 children? …33% of children from single-parent families live at risk of poverty and the second parent does not pay child maintenance? …the Czech Republic is among the EU countries with the highest proportion of single mothers in total population? …average amount of the monthly child maintenance is between 2 000 to 4 000 CZK?
