Foundation
In the AGROFERT group we understand that the companies do not only generate profit and that they are an important employer in respective regions, but they also have responsibility towards their surroundings. We therefore decided to establish the AGROFERT Foundation in 2011, which integrated already existing charitable activities of the whole group into one longterm strategy. The companies of the group decided to contribute almost 3.6 million EUR to the Foundation activities. Within two years of its existence, the AGROFERT Foundation has contributed over 1.8 million EUR to the projects covering the full spectrum of activities of non-profit organizations. In the year 2013 The Foundation assistance focused mainly on the support of projects whose aim was development of one of the following areas:
Children and the youth
Health and care
Investment in childhood and the youth, their development and education is one of the most important. We support children and young people who have courage and strong intentions and the barriers they have to face do not discourage them from their efforts – whether physical or mental impairment or circumstances, which do not contribute to any ambitious objectives.
“Health is the most important thing in life”. We support not only institutions and organizations which provide medical care and help patients and their families, but we are also committed to projects focused on prevention of serious illnesses and promotion of science and research.
Development of regions The AGROFERT group belongs to the largest employers in the Czech Republic. It stands to reason that we intend to contribute to the development of the whole region and the local community where our companies operate.
Support of disadvantaged and handicapped citizens “A disability does not necessarily imply a handicap”. We intend to help people whose life is so difficult that they do not have the strength for anything else than just life itself. Human dignity, whether we are ill or old, is for us the most important value.

Significant projects Support of physically, mentally disabled children or children disabled by the circumstances in which they grow up Based on the call for grant applications and its results in the year 2014, the AGROFERT Foundation became a partner of totally 14 non-profit organizations which are intensively engaged in work with children who are physically and/ or mentally disabled or disabled by social exclusion or circumstances in which they grow up. The aim of this cooperation is to enable the greatest number of children to grow up in their biological or alternative family and avoid placement in institutional care. Fund for single parents The fund supporting single parents was initiated in October 2013 in order to offer help to one of the groups of people at the highest risk of poverty. Since then, the issue of single parents has become one of the crucial topics of the Foundation. The Fund is intended for lonely single parents raising one or more children up to the age of 18 years, i.e. for biological, adoptive or foster children. It supports mothers and fathers who despite all efforts ended up in a difficult situation and who actively try to find a constructive way out of it.
Sport Centers established by the AGROFERT Foundation The project „Sport Centers established by the AGROFERT Foundation“ is mainly designated for children from socially disadvantaged families who cannot do any team sports or other activities due to the low incomes of their parents. The AGROFERT Foundation organizes sports activities, which do not give them many opportunities to idle around or spend too much time at their computers after school, but they commit themselves to sports. Trainings are led by experienced instructors, and the fact that the children do not need to commute anywhere as all activities are organized at their schools is another great advantage. The offered sports are suitable both for boys and girls: basketball, floorball, volleyball, handball and athletics. Crisis Fund in cooperation with the Foundation Tereza Maxová dětem The mutual project of the AGROFERT Foundation and the Foundation Tereza Maxová dětem “Crisis Fund” was initiated in autumn 2013. The aim of this Fund is to offer a helping hand and effective assistance to socially vulnerable families, which otherwise might be forced to place their children into institutional care, and also to provide individual assistance to families living in a difficult social climate or other risk situations.

Significant projects Fight against oncological diseases
International children exhibition Lidice
The year 2013 was for the AGROFERT Foundation the year of the fight against oncological diseases. The Foundation became a partner of a nation-wide campaign “Hands on breasts” focusing on breast cancer prevention. This campaign, which draws attention to the necessity of early cancer diagnosis, was supported by the media campaign of Anna K. The AGROFERT Foundation equipped a children hospital in Brno with the latest navigational operation system intended, among others, for pediatric cancer patients.
In 2014, the AGROFERT Foundation became a partner of the International Children Art Exhibition Lidice, which is unique in scope and duration in the Czech Republic. This exhibition ranks among the biggest and oldest children art exhibitions in Europe and worldwide. The AGROFERT Foundation established cooperation with the web server Alik.cz, which is a special award of the AGROFERT Foundation, where not experts, but children evaluated the art works.
Support of pediatric oncological wards in cooperation with the music band Kryštof The year of the fight against oncological diseases was rounded off by a charity auction organized by the music band Kryštof at idnes.cz. Visitors of this server could download original DVDs with the concert of the band with a voluntary charitable donation. The total charity donation of 1.1 million EUR for the treatment of pediatric oncology patients was handed over to hospitals in Prague – Motol, Ostrava, Olomouc, Plzeň, Hradec Králové and České Budějovice. Respecting the wish of Richard Krajčo, a part of this money was donated to the treatment of Kryštof, a boy who suffers from poliomyelitis. The highlight event were private “concerts“ of the band Kryštof at pediatric oncological wards.
Support of home care for seniors The AGROFERT Foundation decided to dedicate the year 2014 to the support of home care for seniors. Based on the grant procedures, it started cooperation with 15 nonprofit organizations that offer assistance and support services to families providing home care to „their“ seniors. The Foundation supported also intergenerational projects connecting seniors and young people. In December 2013, the AGROFERT Foundation realized five charity concerts of pop-singer Marie Rottrová, while a part of the proceeds was devoted to the project of the AGROFERT Foundation supporting seniors. The concerts were held in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc and České Budějovice. The total of 7,474 EUR was collected. Afterwards, the Foundation increased this amount by further 7,474 EUR. The total amount was divided among selected retirement homes in the Czech Republic.
