First In The World Collaboration of 3 Big Operators Launching Cross Operator Electronic Money Remittance Services Jakarta – The three big operators in Indonesia (Telkomsel, XL and Indosat) are collaborating to launch the latest digital innovation E-money Interoperability Service (P2P Transfer) or Cross Operator Electronic Money Transfer Service. This service is launched by President Director of the three operators, which are President Director of Telkomsel Alex J Sinaga, President Director of XL Hasnul Suhaimi and President Director of Indosat Alexander Rusli, and witnessed by Governor of Bank Indonesia Darmin Nasution, Minister Communication and Information Tifatul Sembiring, and Head of Fiscal Policy Bambang Brodjonegoro. Such collaboration is intended to develop and broaden the electronic money services network in Indonesia by increasing electronic money service acceleration, adding distribution line, increasing SMS traffic, and also by increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the three operators in developing electronic money remittance. Other than that, such collaboration also to support Bank Indonesia in developing less cash society program. By launching this cross operator electronic money transfer service, then 230 million subscribers from all three operators can conduct remittance transaction. For example, TCASH (Telkomsel) customer can conduct remittance to XL Tunai (XL) customer or to Dompetku (Indosat) customer, vice versa. Benefits of the cross operator electronic money remittance to the cellular subscribers among others, subscribers can easily and able to do financial transaction using cell phone and also indirectly increasing “customer experience” and subscribers loyalty, especially in digital era nowadays. In this opportunity, Governor of Bank Indonesia Darmin Nasution stated that,”In the future, we hope that other cellular operators and banks will follow this footstep to innovate so that the benefit of such innovation can be tasted by all communities and not just only providing value added to the remittance and banking industries, but also to support economy and financial system stability in Indonesia.” Cellular operators are welcoming such good support from Bank Indonesia so they will able to accelerate electronic money services in Indonesia. President Director of Telkomsel Alex J Sinaga stated that,” Advancing technology in digital era is a challenge for Telkomsel. So with the presence of the latest innovation of cross operator electronic money remittance from the collaboration between the three largest operators in Indonesia, we expect the animo and community trust to the electronic money services will increase, and also to make electronic money as one of digital payment solution for daily life.
