Welcome To Spring House Spring House is a new home for radical innovators, individuals and organisations who embrace the unruly, dare to experiment and venture into the unknown. They share the desire for a more social and sustainable society. Spring House is their workplace, lab and platform. Here, at the Amsterdam waterfront, they inspire each other, work together, share alternative ideas with a larger audience, and develop these into actions. Spring House functions as a catalyst, stimulating positive change.

Ambitions Complex challenges in society require new forms of innovation and cooperation. The knowledge and creativity of the people directly involved are necessary to create sustainable, positive change. The ambition of Spring House is to mobilise and utilise that knowledge for society and the common good. To achieve that, Spring House focuses on generating interactions and knowledge exchange between its members. To become the source of a plethora of alternative ideas and strategies focused on creating a better future. And to provide a testing ground for these ideas, so that they can be developed into real projects, products and services. Spring House shares these with the world and aspires to work with a great variety of organisations and individuals in the future.
Members Spring House is a community of innovators, creative and cultural entrepreneurs, artists, strategists and researchers who develop new concepts for a more social and sustainable society. We invite members from various backgrounds in the social, creative and business domains. The founders of Spring House – Vandejong Creative Agency, Kennisland and Joanna van der Zanden – are the first residents (totalling 40–45 members). Members drive the recruitment of new members, ensuring steady growth of the community and guaranteeing high quality and diversity of members. A committee will select new members based on their creative and social ambitions.
Location Spring House is located on the De Ruyterkade 128, along Amsterdam’s impressive IJ waterfront, at walking distance from the historic city centre and Amsterdam Central Station. Originally a tin can factory dating back to 1911, it was purchased by Bols Genever in 1941 and transformed into a liquor distillery. Interior design studio Müller Van Tol and architect Duzan Doepel have restored the building to its former glory, yet updated it for all current and future needs.

The Building Spring House consists of several multifunctional work settings and spaces on four floors. Each floor has a distinctive interior. Members of Spring House can make use of all of the facilities and workspaces.
0. KITCHEN
70 workspaces During office hours, the ground floor is a place to work and meet others in a café-style setting. Lunch is served to members in the afternoon, and the restaurant opens its doors to the public at 6pm for dinner.
1. LIVING ROOM
35 workspaces, meeting rooms for 24 people On the first floor, there are various work and meeting places, including sofas, a large reading table and a library. Two large meeting rooms for larger groups can be rented during the day. After 6pm, the first floor can be rented for private dinners, meetings and gatherings.
2. STUDIO
circa 50 workspaces The second floor is a space for concentrated and individual work.
3. ATELIER
75 workspaces During office hours, the third and fourth floors will be used for collaborations in project teams. Members can rent the workshop space for a reduced fee. After 6pm, the entire space can be used or rented by members for presentations, private dinners and parties.
4. GUEST ROOMS
2 rooms For members and their guests, Spring House provides two guest rooms, which can be rented and reserved in advance.
TERRACES
The terraces provide unique views of the IJ on the front and overlook the dynamic city from the back. The terraces provide extra space to work in open air on sunny days, and can be reserved for private gatherings. For garden lovers, a small garden shed will provide tools to seed and grow plants and vegetables.

KITCHEN After two successful pop-up restaurants (Repéré and Foyer), entrepreneurs Figo van Onna and Merijn van Berlo have opened a permanent restaurant at Spring House. Their restaurants are known for their honest and surprising food. The restaurant serves as a working space during office hours and lunch is served in the afternoon. From 6pm, the restaurant opens its doors to the public. Members have priority when making reservations. There is also a possibility to arrange dinners for small groups in the evening hours.
ProgrammeS & EXCHANGE Spring House is focused on generating interaction and knowledge exchange between members. Spring House staff will actively connect members and arrange specific occasions for exchange and collaboration. Members will also be encouraged to become active and involved in setting up in-house activities. In this way, an extensive programme will evolve over the year, including lectures, presentations, discussions, workshops, viewings, and brainstorm sessions. All of these activities will be freely accessible to members and invitees, unless otherwise communicated. In addition, Spring House will research the possibility of developing its own Spring Summit, an in-depth programme interesting to all members in springtime.

Individual Flex — €350/month access to the entire building, including a flexible workspace (no time limit)
Individual Seated — €450/month access to the entire building, including a fixed workspace (no time limit) and locker
Corporate — €500/month access to the entire building, including a flexible workspace (time limit)
Student — €300/month access to the entire building, including a flexible workspace (no time limit)

BENEFITS Spring House offers its members the following services: Access to Spring House during opening hours: Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm Reception from 8am to 10pm Lockers on the ground floor and the second floor Free Wi-Fi Access to Spring House online platform and internal network Rental of unique spaces (meeting rooms, atelier, project space) Free coffee and tea on the second and third floor Use of the printer (black and white copies) Hot lunch at an advantageous price Access to activities (lectures, presentations, workshops, brainstorm sessions, etc.) Possibility to present work to a larger audience (in the form of presentations, workshops, etc.)
CERTIFICATES Would you like to be more involved and committed in the financing of Spring House? Members can also participate in the Spring House venture. We welcome members to purchase certificates and will issue a concrete offer soon.
