Om een beeld te geven van de bedoeling van het draaien, zegt men dat het een afspiegeling is van het draaien van de planeten om de zon. Dus de derwisjen draaien om het centrum van hun dansvloer. In 1967 the American artist Paul Thek embarked on an extended stay in Europe. This represented a turning point in his career. The environments that he created between 1968 and 1973 in various European museums were made up of fantasy landscapes replete with symbolic meaning. The creative process, usually with the assistance of others, played a crucial role in these exhibitions. The Amsterdam-based artist Franz Deckwitz was one of those who assisted Thek but he was, above all, a loyal friend. Their friendship is documented in the Paul Thek archive that Deckwitz's family gave on permanent loan to Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in 2011. Der Donau-Radweg hat sich im letzten Jahrzehnt zum wichtigsten Radfernweg Europas entwickelt. Grund dafür waren in erster Linie die landschaftliche Schönheit des Donautals sowie der kulturelle und historische Reichtum, der hier anzutreffen ist. Solche Besucherströme sind aber ohne gute Infrastruktur und dazugehöriges Serviceangebot nicht möglich. Dies bedeutet, im Fall des Donau-Radweges, gut ausgebaute beschilderte Radwege und mannigfaltige Dienstleistungen, die sich an den Bedürfnissen von Radreisenden orientieren. Im Folgenden sind einige praktische Hinweise zur Handhabung des bikeline Radtourenbuches Donau-Radweg 2 und zur Erleichterung der Vorbereitungen für die Tour angeführt. Mit dem Prädikat "ADFC-Qualitätsradroute" werden Radrouten ausgezeichnet, die von ADFC-Routeninspektoren komplett mit dem Fahrrad befahren wurden. Bewertet wird die Qualität der Befahrbarkeit, Sicherheit, Wegweisung und weiterer Kriterien wie Unterkünfte, Gastronomie, Erreichbarkeit mit der Bahn. Alle Daten zusammengefügt ergeben dann eine Einstufung zwischen einem und fünf Sternen für die jeweilige Route. Die Bewertung gilt für drei Jahre, danach muss, falls gewünscht, eine erneute Überprüfung erfolgen.
