CPU´s en Cores

§ CPU = de fysieke processor § Bevat 1 to 8 cores (afhankelijk van type) § Type bepaalt mede de pvu waarde

Sockets

§ Voet om cpu in te plaatsen. § Was vroeger altijd 1, maar nu tot max 8. § Beinvloedt pvu-waarde per core § Ook al zijn er sockets leeg !

Licenties Tivoli Storage Manager: obv PVU Processor Value Unit •  Alle fysieke cores worden geteld •  Voor elk type processor de waarde vaststellen (zie tabel)

Alle cores van alle TSM clients worden geteld voor de Basis licentie •  Inclusief cores van de TSM Server(s)

Dit moet worden herhaald voor alle add-ons •  TSM for Mail •  TSM for Databases •  Etc etc •  Excluding cores of the TSM Server(s)

Voor Virtual Servers zoals ESX hosts: •  Tel alle fysieke cores voor Basis licentie •  Tel alle fysieke cores voor add-ons 5

Licensing Tivoli Storage Manager: nieuw model Tivoli Storage Manager Suite for Unified recovery (TSM SUR) Berekend op # Terabytes in TSM Primary pool(s) en FB repositories. Copieen niet meebelast. TSM Server dedup (disk only) vermindert licenties. Onbeperkt gebruik van 10 TSM producten, Tiered model: 1-100 TB, 101-250, 251-500, etc Elke hogere tier geeft 10% extra korting, speciale Archive tier met 80% korting TSM SUR Entry voor max 100 TB en max 2 servers met 55% korting.
