Cara Kerja: 1. Biji jintan dikeringkan, kemudian ditumbuk sampai halus 2. Biji jintan yang telah ditumbuk ditimbang ± 200 gram (sesuai kapasitas tabung), dibungkus dengan kertas saring dan dibentuk menyerupai tabung sesuai besarnya diameter tabung tersebut

3. Kertas saring berisi jintan hitam dimasukkan ke dalam extraction chamber, kemudian ditambah pelarut 200 ml 4. Labu alas bulat diisi pelarut 500 ml, kemudian dihubungkan dengan extraction chamber yang telah dipasang pada statip 5. Sisi bawah labu alas bulat dipasang alat pemanas (kompor) dan panci yang berisi air 6. Kran pada kondensor dipasang selang dan dihubungkan pada air mengalir, air dibiarkan mengalir selama proses ekstraksi 7. Pemanas (kompor) dinyalakan kurang lebih enam jam 8. Hasil ekstrak dalam labu alas bulat yang masih bercampur dengan pelarut dan air diambil, dituangkan dalam cawan porselin, lalu diuapkan diatas water bath dengan suhu maksimal 70° atau diangin-anginkan sampai pelarut dan airnya hilang dan didapatkan ekstraknya 9. Prosedur ini diulangi beberapa kali hingga didapatkan ekstrak yang diinginkan.
