A. Description This subject is generally designed to facilitate the learners in understanding the history of Indonesian Culture B. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to describe and comprehend Indonesian culture and its historical development C. Evaluation The evaluation will be based on the level of participation in class activities (5%), quality of group papers (10%), quality of individual paper (15%), score of midterm test (25%), and score of final test (45%). The decision will be based on the application of criterion –referenced techniques. The failing students should take recourse program. The poor may take recourse or short-course program. D. Code : MBB – 503 Course Title : Cross-Cultural Understanding Credit :2 A. Description This Course is designed to develop the students’ awareness of the close relationship between language and culture, and different cultural aspects which may be encountered. During the course, the students will do a lot of reading, thinking, and discussing about different cultures in an attempt to learn more about them and to better understand them. B. Objectives By the end of the semester, the students improve their awareness of the close relationship between language and culture: essential parts of culture, verbal pattern, personal relationship, family and work values, cultural and cultural adjustment. C. Evaluation The evaluation will be based on the level of participation in class activities (10%), the attendance (10%), score of the quizzes (20%), score of mid-term examination (30%) and score of final examination (30%) D.
