Settled Mixed Cultivation Demonstration Project without Slash and Burn Routine Activities Learning Activities in Name of Demonstration Plot Visitor/Group Information on non-combustionsedentary mixedgardenthat was conductedevery month. Theinformationactivity was conductedinthefarmer groupmeetingor whenvisitingthefarmers. Clearing, structuringandcultivatingtheland inthelocationof project demonstrationwith themethodof noncombustion. Thecleaning of treebranches by steakingthat couldbeused as thematerials for compost production. Plantingtheplants as firepartitionthat surroundedthelocation of demplot. Thefire partition plants that wereplantednamely: Rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpurium), pinneaple, dangamal (Gliricidia sepium) and banana plants. Plantingrubber trees andfruit trees in December 2009-February 2010. Replacingthedamagedseeds of rubber plants and fruits. Clearingweeds aroundtherubber plants and fruit plants twiceamonth. Fertilizingtherubber farmwhengrowingto one year old (February 2011). Cuttingthetopingbudof rubber treewhenit reached 2.75 mtall (March2011-June2011). Cultivatingland, raisingseedlingand treatment in horticulture plot such as: small chilli, hot chilli, egg-plant, bitter melon, cucumber, long bean, tomato, kangkung. Plantinghorticulturewithinterspersesystem under rubber trees suchas: corn, chilli, eggplant, and tomato.
Learningof thetechnical of cultivating non-combustion sedentary mixed gardenthat was followedby 8 farmers from Tempayung and Babual Baboti village. Theinstructor wereField Agricultural Facilitators fromthe Agricultural Facilitator Agency of KotawaringinLama(November 15, 2009). Learningof thetechnical of plantingthe firepartitionplants inthemixedgarden that was followedby 15 farmers from TempayungandBabual Baboti village. The instructor were from Operation Divisionof ManggalaAgni BrigadeIII Pangkalan Bun BKSDA CK. (December 20, 2009) Class of cultivatingmixedgarden, the concept of mixingthevariety of plants that was followedby 17farmers from Tempayung village. The instructor was thepractitioner of mixedgardenin Sukamara regency (March 26, 2010). Class of compost production with the methodof landholes that was followed by 10 farmers fromTempayungand Babual Baboti village. Theclass of raisingseedlings that was followedby 7 farmers from Tempayung andBabual Baboti village. The class of plant treatment of tomato plants that was followed by 15 farmers from Tempayung and Babual Baboti village. Class of rotationof crops inthelandof mixedgardenthat was followedby 10 farmers fromTempayungvillage.

Thevisitors from Tempayung and Babual Baboti averaged 6 farmers every day. Orangutan Foundation Volunteer GroupIII in July 2010 helped the activities indemplot for two weeks. Number of Families / Groups adopting methods Theresults of theactivity of monitoring onsedentary farmers that was heldin July 2011-August 2011were: From45 families inTempayungvillage, 43 families haveusedtheconcept of non-combustion sedentary farming, 2 families already usesystemof sedentary farmingbut withburning. From43 families whodosedentary farming without burning, 6 families raised crops throughout the year, and 37families raisedcrops only in rainy season. From159 families inBabual Baboti village, 156 families haveusethe concept of non-combustionsedentary farmingand3 families havedone sedentary farmingwithburning. From these156 families, 5 families raised crops througouth the year, and151families raisedcrops seasonally.
Annex 2 (b) Table of Activities at the Composting Demonstration Project Construction of Facilities
Compost production house of size 4 m x 12 m, that consisted of compost processing room and equipment warehouse. Nursery bed of vegetable plants of size 3,5 m x 8 m. LearningHall of size 5m x 5m, as themeetingandlearningplace. Housefor compost production staff of size 5,5m x 6 m that consisted of tworooms, oneguest roomandonekitchen, bathroom and toilet. Well and water tower as the water sourceinproject demonstration. Supportingmaterials for activities indemplot suchas: generator, organic waste choppingmachine, hoes, shovel, angkong, cattlemanure(30-50 sacks per month), horticulture seeds, herbicideandmicro bacteriafor decomposing.
Demonstration Project Processing Organic Waste into Compost Routine Activities Learning Activities in Name of Demonstration Plot Visitor/Group
Compost productionthat was conducted every monththat produced10-15 m³. The raw materials were: Market wastefrom Environment Officeof Sukamara, cows manure, bananastems, serunai leaves, saw dust, andsugar.
Meeting of Sumber Makmur farmer groupevery month. Theparticipants were about 17-25 farmers andthefield agricultural facilitator fromthe agriculture and husbandry department of Sukamara regency.
Thelandcultivationusingcompost in demonstration.
Practical class of compost production andthecompost applicationonthe vegetablecrops that was followedby students of SMKN 1 Sukamara. The activity was conductedintwoclasses eachweekwiththeparticipants of 23 students per class. (July 2010-July 2011)
Raisingseedlings, plantingandtreatment of horticultureplants indemonstrationplot of compost applicationinproject demonstration location. Theplants that werealready planted namely: corn, longbean, watermelon, chilli, tomato, cucumber, egg-plant, cabbage, seledri, andbitter melon. Thetreatment coveredtheclearingof weeds intheproject demonstrationlocation. Plantingfirepartitionthat coveredbanana plants aroundthedemonstrationplot. Plantingandtreatingthefruit trees inproject demonstrationlocation. The plants were: orangefruit plants, durian, cempedak, petai, matoa, cashewnut, rambutanandgaharu.
Trainingincompost productionfor the staff of Environment Officeof Sukamara, with7participants. (August 2010 and July 2011). Basic educationfor thenewmembers of Green Organization of Sukamara on March 12-13, 2011. Theplantingof trees tocommemorate Orangutan Care Week was organized together with Forestry and PlantationDepartment, Environment Office, GreenOrganization, and representativeof senior highschools in Sukamara (November 2011)

Number of Families / Groups adopting methods Six groups (Sumber Makmur, Berkat Bertuah,Berkat Bersama, Niat Utama, Sehati) have used the concept of compost production and the applications inthecompost productiondemplot. SMKN 1 Sukamara continued the Local Capacity of Ecologic Agriculture in their schools independently and perhaps will continuethefield practiceinthedemplot.

Keterangan Tinggi tanaman telah mencapai rata-rata 2.75 m dan telah ditoping.Ada penambahan penyulaman tanaman sebanyak 74 batang dibangian batas lahan plot lahan. Karet lokal tumbuh sedikit lambat karena belum dilakukan pemupukan. Tinggi tanaman berkisar 50 cm 100 cm. Pada bulan Mei 2011 ada kegiatan penanaman bersama siswa SDN 1 dan SDN 2 Babualboti sehingga ada penambahan jumlah tanaman rambutan sebanyak 54 pohon. Pohon yang berjumlah 13 batang telah tumbuh setinggi 1.70m 2.10m. Duku ditanam pada bulan Mei 2011 bersama SDN 1 dan SDN 2 babual baboti. Beberapa tanaman matikarena serangan jamur dan kekeringan pada saat musim kemarau. Tumbuh dengan normal, meski kurang pemupukan.
Hanya tumbuh beberapa rumpun saja dan telah lebat daunnya. Hal tersebut mengundang ulat untuk memakannya. Tumbuh dengan subur, sering dipotong oleh warga desa babualbaboti sebagai pakan ternak sapi. Tanaman asli lahan, hanya 4 batang yang ditanam oleh fasilitator pertanian.

DECLARATION OF SUPPORT FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE ECOSYSTEM OF THE LAMANDAU RIVER WILDLIFE RESERVE We, the undersigned on behalf of Kotawaringin Barat District Government, Sukamara District Government, Central Kalimantan Agency for Conservation of Natural Resources, representatives from villages surrounding the Reserve, traditional indigenous institutions, religious leaders, private sector, community organisations and non-governmental organizations, hereby declare: a. That the Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve is a conservation area designated by the Government of Indonesia through Minister of Forestry Decree No. 162 /Kpts-II/1998 with an area of 76,110 hectares. Subsequently, based on the results of the boundary delineation by the Agency for Mapping of Forest Areas-Region V-Banjarbaru year 2005, the area of the Reserve became 56,110 hectares, comprising 28,209 hectares in Sukamara District and 27.901 hectares in Kotawaringin Barat District; forming an important part in policy development. b. That the preservation of ecosystems of Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve with the potential of biodiversity and ecological benefits are the responsibility of all parties. c. That cooperation is required from all parties in an integrated way to manage and conserve the Ecosystem and buffer zone of Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve in accordance with existing regulations. d. That in carrying out development programs and activities in surrounding area of the Reserve, it is obligatory to maintain the principles of conservation in accordance with the carrying capacity of the environment and development in a sustainable manner. e. To make a commitment in a consistent and continuous manner to participate in the management and conservation of the Lamandau River Wildlife Reserve and its surrounding buffer zone, in order to protect biodiversity, maintain the ecological benefits and improve the welfare of the community.
