Anotace:
Digitální učební materiál (DUM) sloužící k seznámení žáků s nejvýznamnějšími pamětihodnostmi a zajímavými místy v Londýně s využitím interaktivní tabule nebo notebooků. Materiál je použitelný při výuce v 8. ročníku. Žáci si prohlédnou fotografie a přečtou informace o místech, která na nich vidí. Fotografie vznikly při školním zájezdu do Velké Británie v roce 2008. Ve druhé části prezentace si žáci ověří nově nabyté znalosti formou jednoduchého testu. DUM vznikl jako doplňující materiál k učebnici:HUTCHINSON, Tom. Project: Student´s Book 3. School trip to London In 2008 we went to Great Britain. We visited London and other interesting places. Look at some photographs from our trip.
Ferry In this photo we are sailing to Britain. This is a photo from a ferry. Ferry is a boat for lots of people, cars and buses. It goes from Calais (France) to Dover (U.K.)
Madame Tussaud´s The first day we were in Madame Tussaud´s. It´s a museum of wax statues.
The Odeon
This is a very interesting building. It´s The Odeon Cinema. It´s in Leicester square.
Covent Garden
Covent Garden is an interesting place too. There is a large market. In front of the market you can always see lots of street artists. You´re never bored there.
Regent´s Park London isn´t only a noisy city. There are lots of parks too. The most famous is Hyde Park. And this is Regent´s Park
Picadilly Circus We are in the centre of London in a place called Picadilly Circus. There are lots of neons and advertisements.
Buses How can you travel in London? You can go by bus. London buses are red. They are called double deckers. Lots of Londoners also use a bike.
The underground
You can use the underground. People in London call it „tube“. It´s very fast.
Taxi You can also use a taxi (cab). It´s comfortable but expensive.
Boats You can watch London sightseeings from river Thames. These boats are for tourists.
Pedestrians If you walk you are a pedestrian. This machine is at the pedestrian crossing. You push the button and wait for green light.
London Eye.
Do you want to see all the city from one place? So get on the London Eye. It´s a huge wheel 135 metres tall.

Trafalgar Square This is the most famous square in London. It´s called Trafalgar Square. There is a statue of admiral Nelson.

Post boxes These red boxes are for letters.
Telephone booths Red colour is also typical for London telephone booths. People don´t use them very often now. Why? They use mobiles.
Buckingham Palace That´s the Royal family home. The Queen lives here. It´s called Buckingham Palace.
Tower Bridge The most famous bridge in London is called Tower Bridge.
Museums There are many museums in London. These photos are from the National Science Museum.
Big Ben Big Ben is a name of the bell. It´s in the Clock Tower. The building is called the Houses of Parliament.
Greenwich
This part of London is called Greenwich. There is an observatory. Greenwich Meridian (Prime Meridian) crosses this place.
Visit London! You´re never bored in the capital of the UK. So visit London. There are thousands places to visit and see.
