‘One Health’ concept • Voor wat betreft de problematiek van de antibacteriële resistentie zijn de humane geneeskunde en de diergeneeskunde onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden. • Een krachtdadige aanpak van de antibacteriële resistentie vereist dus een integrale benadering van beide ecosystemen volgens het ‘One Health’ concept. • Het ‘One Health’ concept houdt ook in dat binnen de humane geneeskunde zowel aandacht moet gaan naar de ambulante praktijk als naar de verzorgingsinstellingen, in de eerste plaats de ziekenhuizen en woonzorgcentra.

Infectiebeheersing • De teams voor infectiebeheersing laten werken rond nationale thema’s, namelijk urineweginfecties en (kathetergerelateerde) bloedstroominfecties voor de komende vijf jaar. • Alle relevante instanties zullen een rol vervullen in de ontwikkeling/organisatie/realisatie van richtlijnen; symposia, workshops en opleiding; surveillance, puntprevalentiestudies en interne audits; nationale verbeterprojecten (vb. zorgbundels, campagnes); en onderzoek. • Nieuwe toekomstvisie voor de infectiebeheersing in acute ziekenhuizen • Infectiebeheersing buiten de acute ziekenhuizen bevorderen • Nationale campagnes ter promotie van de handhygiëne

Diergeneeskunde - AMCRA

• De WG Diergeneeskunde wil constructief samenwerken met AMCRA en met alle bevoegde overheidsinstanties in het kader van de werkgroep Strategie Veterinair Antibioticabeleid (SVAB). De werkgroep wil ook eigen adviezen formuleren en eigen initiatieven nemen.

Conclusies • België was één van de pioniers van het antibioticumbeleid in Europa • Nood aan nieuw strategisch plan • Gebaseerd op wetenschappelijke evidentie en ervaring in het buitenland • Doelstellingen realistisch, en zeker niet overambitieus • Slaagkansen hangen af van inzet van de mensen
