Výtvarná díla připomínají otevřené knihy. Dá se v nich číst, sledovat hlavní dějovou linku, nechat se unášet specifickým stylem a jazykem každého autora. Co je však vepsáno mezi řádky?
Art pieces remind us of open books. You can read in them, follow the main story line, let the specific style and language of an artist run away with you. What is, however, written between the lines?
1934 1950–1953 1953–1957 1962
František Kyncl mezi ně vetkl samu podstatu svých objektů, monostruktur – vzdušnost, křehkost a nadčasovost gotických katedrál, dynamiku, barevnost i iluzivnost barokních chrámových staveb, prostor těsně propojený s vlastními prožitky, zkušenostmi i myšlenkami. Nesmazatelné stopy zde zanechal i odchod z republiky /1968/, život v exilu, vlastní těžká nemoc i blízkost empatické manželky Elsi.
František Kyncl built in them the essence of his objects, mono structures – airiness, fragility, timelessness of gothic cathedrals, dynamics, wealth of colours and illusoriness of baroque temples, space tightly connected to his own feelings, experiences and ideas. His emigration from the Czech Republic in 1968 , serious illness and close relationship with his empathic wife Elsa left indelible impression in his art.
You can see the desire to find and build a construction that would verify the rightness of chosen construction principles / geometric order/ and at the same time it would allow to open the space and set a man free from established relations. Where is the beginning and where is the end? It is not essential. The relationship between particular segments of an object is firm and logical. The beginning and end only mark the way followed by the artist.
Melodie Steva Reicha, P. I. Čajkovského a dalších se mísí s ruchy z ulice, s hlasy automobilů či tichým broukáním autora. Každá Kynclova kresba i stavba začíná bodem. Kyncl/ Každý člověk, předměty, hory, moře, města, planety, minulost, přítomnost i budoucnost vytváří konkrétní body, malé propojené tečky, z nichž vznikají čtyřstěny a pyramidy ve složitých strukturách nedozírného a nadčasového Univerza Františka Kyncla. Even the music that František used to listen to is written between the lines. He transformed its tones and tempo into bright strokes of his brush left on a long paper belt that was slowly unwound from František‘s invention – a movable roll /drum/. In this way he created sound recordings in which the colour does not express a feeling of a composition but it distinguishes particular sounds and their different rhythm. Melodies by Steve Reich, P.I Tchaikovsky and others blend with noises of streets and cars or silent humming of the artist. “Every Kyncl‘s drawing or construction starts with a point. The point is the outset, the very beginning. Each point is an idea. The ideas can be interconnected and they are joined by a line. Several interconnected points and lines create the drawing of an idea. Such a drawing can be a shout into silence or it can be the ultimate silent silence in deafening rumble. Drawing is festive dailiness! Drawing is our own self-reflection in a mirror.”/F. Kyncl/ Every man, object, mountain, sea, town, planet, past, present or future creates concrete points, small interconnected dots from which tetrahedrons and pyramids in complex structures of vast and timeless Universe of František Kyncl emerge.
Tracks. Tracks are shadows of living beings printed on basic materia. Some exist only for a short time but their short life will enrich and light up the very moment. Then they will vanish as fast as bare footprints in fine sea sand. Other ones should elicit wonder when you see the simplicity of form and the obvious and natural way in which they were created /ancient cave paintings/. There are also those proving and describing ancient forms of life on Earth. They are in layers keeping their secret for those who are ready to discover and decipher their confession.
1950
Jaké stopy a svědectví zanechává na svých plátnech nizozemská výtvarnice Els Moes (1950)?
What tracks and evidence appear in paintings of a Dutch artist Els Moes /1950/?
Before she started studies at the Haarlem Academy of Art, Els did archaeological research. She took samples of soil sediments in particular layers. She learnt to sail in time depth. She found out that many relations can be seen only when you work hard, when you are humble and empathic. She used experience obtained in archaeology also in her art work.
Směr nanášení barvy i úmyslné odchylky ve směrování linek způsobují změny v lámání světelných paprsků, vytvářejí stíny a dodávají reliéfům větší plasticitu, často mění intenzitu barvy.
She applies the paint in layers and lets it dry. Repeating this timeconsuming process she shapes a relief structure. It is created through a number of plastic lines that follow pre-set rhythm and declination. The way of applying the paint and deliberate irregularity in forming lines cause changes in light rays breaking, make shadows, give reliefs more plasticity and change the intensity of colour. The surface of a painting does not reflect a real image of a particular thing, figure or act but it reflects the process of creation itself. It is a portrait of an art process. The structured landscape of artist’s inner world and of spectators‘ feelings are revealed and they are stored in bands marked by colour strokes.
Svůj tichý půvab mají i čisté a skromné reliéfy z trhaného papíru.
Colour scheme of her artworks is close to monochrome expression. Her paintings are black or white. She uses other colours very carefully. Structured white and black planes reflect light that becomes co-author of the art work. Sometimes a great ravine appears on the relief plane. On its bottom you can see a tiny ray of bright colour. Clean and humble reliefs from torn paper have its silent charm, too.
Els Moes thinks the composition of her art pieces over again. At the same time she gives spectators space for their own imagination, intuition and dreams. Maybe that is why a mysterious connection and harmony between a painting and spectator is formed.
